What Past Guests Are Saying
A Better Home Away From Home
the only thing was that the radiant heat was a bit much in the begining but after i turned it down it kept a constant 70 deg with the fire place going.
i went to Trader Joes and was very disapointed. Night of the Living Dead
i liked that store Kuane, something like that, nice market.
i use to stay at Fort Marcy but this is far better. i'll get back with you early this year about renting again in Sept or Oct.
thanks, we had a blast!!

We really loved the Garcia St. Gardens property! It was beautifully decorated with comfortable furniture and an eclectic mix of fabulous art and rugs. We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the wonderful patio and outdoor spaces.
Garcia Street Gardens -- Small House in 1920's Artist Community
This house is well situated on Garcia St to the Santa Fe attractions. Its at the end of a small cul-de-sac which started as a Artist's Colony at the beginning of the 1900's. If you look closely you can see for example the horse stalls that were later turned into Casita's. The house itself is small but has a spacious yard. It has been somewhat modernized but does not have any cooling (swamp or AC) which made it hot and uncomfortable during our stay. We had to run noisy fans all the time. We ate outside on the patio almost all the time, to avoid the heat. The large yard, patio and cement floors of the house made it ideal for our canine friends.
The decor of the house was an eclectic mix of pueblo, old and new Santa Fe and something best described as Spanish Inquisition. Being sensitive to our surroundings, we improved the situation by selectively covering some of the paintings with towels. The next greatest fault of this rental is that the master bedroom and kitchen is tiny and cramped. We ended up putting all our clothes and suitcases in the guest room located all the way across the house. The guest or kids room should really be the master. Lastly, when we arrived there was a large 16x12 rug rolled up in the middle of the living room (meant to replace the old sissel rug that was on the floor). With a great deal of effort we shoved it into the kids room, where it blocked our movement only part of the time, and only tripped over it once or twice.

The rental was in great condition. If you are looking for a fun andttuely Santa Fe experience then this is the place. Just a short walk to canyon Rd, the plaza and the capital.
Every thing was great except the cleanliness, especially in the
The property is very nice, and Kokopelli is an excellent company to work with. The only negative was that the property was not clean, especially the kitchen. There were blobs of food and grease on the cabinets, light switches and appliances. I cleaned all the light switches when we arrived because they looked so dirty. The cabinets with the dishes were clean and organized, but the pantry, under the sink, and the pot & pan cabinets were both dirty and disorganized. The table had blobs of a previous meal on it.
The bathrooms and bedrooms were pretty clean.
The house and yard are wonderful, and a good cleaning would work wonders, particularly when guests are charged a cleaning fee as part of the lease.
Thank you, and have a Merry Christmas.
