The house was fine although there was a problem with ants. The walls at the entrance to the driveway make the entrance really, really narrow. It is almost impossible to pull in without scraping the sides especially with a larger suv. Nothing to be done about this just be very careful especially the first time you pull in. Thanks

Quaint and comfortable

It was a quaint little place. I enjoyed the feeling of an old pueblo lodging. My only complaint was that one of the fire places had spent wood in it, so the place smelled like a campfire. We opened the windows and that helped. The location was great. The master bedroom was very comfortable. I would suggest some night lights near the threshold from the bedroom to the hallway. It is a possible trip hazard. It was nice to have a private garden space to enjoy breakfast. I would recommend it to others. There is no A/C, but the owner supplies plenty of floor fans. For the time of year we were there, A/C wasn't needed.

Business Trip Stay with a get away flair

I was here on business 2 weeks in the winter and chose the Casita Del Rio over hotel and points to experience living in the historical and artist district of Santa Fe. I am a single woman and I felt safe and comfortable walking to the plaza or going for a run along ALameda Street trail. The property had all the amenities a business or leisure traveler could want. It was beautiful, fully equipped, clean and updated yet maintained is historic charm. Santa Fe Luxury Rental also had much part in making my stay comfortable and lacking nothing I needed. They offered to shovel snow off my driveway and provide additional firewood. I would return without anything to change and highly recommend!! Beautiful property and decor and A++ Service! Thank you!

I had to contact Carlos and Tatiana a few times with questions re recycling, wood for the fireplace and other general questions. They were very helpful and responded promptly -I would recommend using their services to anyone visiting Santa Fe.

We lucked out during the weekend we were in Santa Fe (the IMBA summit was in town and the balloon festival was down the road). I couldn't have got a better casita considering how last minute I booked. Warm, cosy and fantastic location. we were able to walk into town for dinner, and pop over to the next street to check out the galleries. And there is a great network of mountain bike trails nearby that are rideable from the front door.
The property managers were very helpful too.

This was a cute little house. Some electrical problems and no instructions for the heaters. We had to use this property due to our family of 10 being split into two properties due to a snafu with the management. We had to move locations half way through our 4 nights. This property was a great location, no views but a wonderful courtyard. Rustic would be a good word or charming. One very large bedroom and one very small. Comfy for a small family or 2 couples that get along well. Kitchen was small but worked for breakfast. Bad weather would make this feel pretty small but a sunny day was lovely on the patio. Good grill, too.
Property was good but we do not recommend the management company.

Santa Fe Rental Good but with some issues to consider
Left on 09/30/2012 for a stay in September 2012 |
The location was further from the Central Plaza than we thought at the time of rental. (We should have Googled walking time). It was at least a twenty minute walk for us. Without a rental car, it would have been difficult to easily access downtown activities.
The parking space for the rental was very narrow and ifficuylt to back into. It was difficult and dangerous to exit onto a busy street with a nearby blind curve to the left. This was true for a front or rear exit!) Fortunately, there was ample street parking across the street opposite the rental that made these parking issues a non problem. But I had to figure it out the first couple of days there.

The location was good in relation to the plaza. The home was in need of paint and general maintenance like screens on windows, which were in a closet, painting, floor sagging. There were dead bugs all over the stove when we arrived. Silverfish and roaches had my wife frantic. All 4 of us had the experience of bugs crawling on us while sleeping. The cable TV was cut off during our stay for one day due to "billing problems". The agent did manage to get it back on. I was told that there would be some sort of compensation for the issues, however, I have yet to receive any communication regarding this which I requested on 9/5/12. The value equation, cost vs. satisfaction, was poor. I should have booked at a hotel & saved money as well as the stress I incurred from my family complaining about the issues. Nothing worse than feeling like you let the group down. I doubt I'll hear from this company again, but at least I'll know if they understand Customer Service.

Authentic old adobe with a fabulous location. River walk and Canyon Rd great for walking and site seeing. Close to the Plaza, museums, and great food. Beautiful patio, private, quiet, and well managed. Absolutely recommend if you want to stay in the character and flavor of Santa Fe.

We stayed in this house for three nights - a couple, a nanny, and a baby. We loved the proximity and the walk into town (don't take Alameda, shoot one block over and walk into town on Palace - much prettier and fewer cars. The house is clean, with all the amenities you'd expect. The beds are very comfortable and the outdoor patio is inviting. Just note - the "BBQ" grill is not gas! (Our mistake!) We'd definitely go back and rent with these property managers again.

Authentic, bright southwestern adobe casita
Left on 03/12/2012 for a stay in March 2012 |
I had a wonderful stay at the Del Rio casita. The location is perfect -- around the corner from the Canyon Road galleries (and a wonderful tea/coffee shop); an easy walk along the Santa Fe River cottonwoods to the Plaza and downtown; a short hop up the road to the Audubon wildlife sanctuary and endless acres of open space in the mountains. Here you can find both quiet relaxation and cultural stimulation in true Santa Fe style. The casita is warm and cozy, filled with light -- especially in the morning. (So many casitas a dark and cave-link.) It has authentic southwestern style with a bit of Bohemian sensability; comfortable and casual. If you're looking for a generic, impersonal chain hotel room, this place is not for you. If you want to feel at home in Santa Fe, this may be your casita.
The property managers are professional, friendly and attentive to details.
I highly recommend Del Rio casita and Santa Fe Luxury Rentals.
