What Past Guests Are Saying
nice location, but poor housekeeping
This house is in a great location and has more than enough room for a large family or couples. There were two problems with this house. First, the kitchen lacked basic cookware such as more than one pan or even a baking dish to use for the oven. In addition, it was not properly cleaned with sand on the sofas and spider webs on lamps. It was clear that housekeeping only changed linens and dropped off fresh towels. It was by no means a horrible experience, but to pay $185 for a cleaning fee, i would expect things to be properly mopped, dusted, swept and cleaned. This rental would have been perfect if the cleaning had met normal expectations.
Honesty is the best policy
I spent a week at the Seagrove Nook with my wife and son (1 yr). We had some issues which I will share, but my guess is that they'll be fixed before your stay. BeachSeekers was helpful in solving our problems.
The pool pump did not work properly for us until the middle of our week which meant that lots of leaves and every critter brave enough to swim was in the pool with us. Also, the pool is at the back of the property, and the weeds were pretty high, even on the walkway back there.
The house was generally clean, but we had to wash and dry the sofa cover on our own the first night. It had crumbs and food stains on it. The kitchen cabinets and doors had dirty finger prints on them. Gross! Finally, there was no trash can outside for our trashbags, and we couldn't keep the bags piling up on the porch.
The middle level cooled well, but the upstairs got pretty toasty in the afternoon sun. The downstairs seemed to be pretty comfortable, but my wife wouldn't go in there because there were usually new, dead bugs on the floor.
There are planety of bathrooms which is great for a vacation home. The master bath is large, but the jacuzzi tub's drain stopper was pretty difficult to open. It works like a cork stopper in a bottle, but there isn't anything to grab on to to pull it out.
If you're depending on internet service (I had a "working vacation" - whatever that is), then have a back-up plan. Wi-Fi is in the lower level, but it didn't reach the middle or uppper level very well. Service was intermittent.
The kitchen gear was not quite complete: flatwear and pots were not really enough for a family. You might wait to plan your menu until you get there. The grill was small, and it didn't have gas. I think that it hadn't been cleaned in a while.
The location is really great, and the golf cart really helps with the beach stuff. I am not sure where we were supposed to park it when we were at the beach. One house across the street from Seagrove Nook is pretty junky and has a big dog, but you don't really have to look at it.
Overall, I would stay with BeachSeekers again, but I might look at another house.
