Blue Surf Sanctuary is a delightful oasis comprised of four high end, truly gorgeous Bungalows, designed to be utilized as one "house" or "unit" for family gatherings, vacationing with friends or private retreats.OR to be rented separately. Each bungalow is decorated with its own theme using recycled hardwoods, bamboo, banana leaf, rattan and all natural and recycled materials, offer our guests gorgeous, cozy lodging. We are located right at Suck Rock, a famous surf break in Costa Rica and we are within steps of stunning white sand beaches hosting some of the best surf an...d breath taking sunsets in Costa Rica .

Located at the far end of Northern Santa Teresa, near the most distinctive small hotels and retreats..far enough to feel the seclusion offered at the pristine beach but close enough to run into town for a coffee, a night out or to check out the new small and quaint shopping area with an ambient coffee house and high end gift shop.

We are proudly,the only Billaong sponsored surf destination hotel in Costa Rica and have a fully equipped surfboard inventory and offer lessons from experienced instructors!

An all tile pool, outdoor shower and inviting outside rancho kitchen/ common area render Blue Surf Sanctuary a peaceful hideaway for a dream come true experience! Every Bungalow features lovely balconies that offer tree top views, ocean breezes and the exotic sounds of the jungle. We chose stylish and comfortable furnishings to make hanging out on the veranda an ultra relaxing experience.

All bungalows have a private bathrooms featuring hand carved stone sinks from quarries in the hills of Monte Verde, in addition to gorgeous all tile, spacious hot water showers with rain can shower heads and windows that invite in the stars and moonlight. Our bungalows were built with ventilation in mind, therefore each is equipped a ceiling fan and A/C for ultimate comfort. All the beds will have you resting deeply with lush pillow top mattresses. You will have peace of mind knowing your personal belongings are completely protected with state of the art digital laptop room safes that are large enough to fit cameras, laptops and other personal items.

In our inviting, cozy outdoor rancho kitchen and communal area, you are welcome to utilize our fully equipped kitchen...or one can watch direct TV, DVDS or even better.... videos of yourself catching the waves of the day! Perhaps you will choose a book from our book exchange library If you rent just one beautiful bungalow you can chill and meet an eclectic mix of interesting souls,our other guests.

Our gorgeous bungalows are only 150 yards from the sand and world famous surf breaks.

Santa Teresa, charming and rural, is quickly becoming a trendy hot spot with celebrities visiting and owning homes there. The magic one feels in Mal Pais/Santa Teresa is rare and almost indescribable. Health conscious, green and tropical with great surf, stunning beaches,breath taking sunsets and beautiful people! Local "sodas" or restaurants offer delicious local cuisine for under $10.00 for a full meal!..Or dine at five star boutique hotel restaurants in the area for a more upscale evening..it's all there!!!

SURFING

Santa Teresa and Mal Pais host some of the best and least crowded surfing in Costa Rica. The area offers many different breaks to serve the skill levels of all surfers. The experienced surfer will be stoked to find themselves in one of the most renown surf locations in the world yet many surf breaks here are long even beach breaks with sandy bottoms making our beaches a great and safe place to learn to surf.

ATVs / Quad Bikes

Quads are for sure the funnest mode of transportation to explore the back roads and to find the gorgeous beaches.

Santa Teresa is a Robinson Crusoe's dream tucked away on the edge of the rainforest in the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula on the west coast of Costa Rica. There are long sweeping beaches with consistent surf and lush tropical rainforests that line the shoreline for miles. Mal Pais is situated on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica on the southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula.
his magical province extends for approximately 6 km. Not too long ago, Santa Teresa was a small fishing village but has seen quite a bit of growth in the last few years and is quickly becoming the new trendy hot spot with the occasional celebrity, rock star or super model being spotted chillin' like everyone else. Small beach bars and restaurants dot the coastline and trickle into the rainforest offering excellent local hospitality. Mal Pais is by all accounts one of the hidden jewels of the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica...

Santa Teresa has an international "flavor". Surfers and non-surfers venturing to this area who were just passing through, have fallen in love with Santa Teresa and never left. In the last few years there has been an insurgence of yoga and wellness minded people and businesses that have built their presence in the area. All of these cosmopolitan newcomers add their spices and styles to the local flavor, so that now there is an amazing choice of international restaurants and the mixture of international and local vibe is one of a kind.

With gorgeous white sand beaches, warm water and waves suited for all levels from the novice to pro , it's no wonder that the word has finally gotten out about this magical place! This town caters to campers as well as elite travelers.

Of course the waves and gorgeous beaches are a huge attraction here, but the area also offers so much more. From renting quads and exploring the jungle, fishing, hiking, snorkeling, zip line canopy tours, amazing waterfalls, yoga, massage, or visiting the beautiful reserve, Cabo Blanco. The cool bars and variety of delicious cuisine augment an already truly special destination.

Our rates are for double occupancy. There is an increase of $20.00 per person per night, depending on the season,with the exception that a maximum of two children under 12 stay free

~Please inquire about discounted rates when renting all four bungalows for family gatherings or retreats. We may also discount for any stay 7 nights or more!
