This amazing house is the 'coolest' house in Santa Teresa. Oozing chic and elegance - it is at the same time very relaxed, comfortable and extremely beautiful.

Whether you are having a massage on one of our beach ranchos, relaxing by the pool with an ice-cold drink, snoozing in one of our many hammocks or simply 'being', you are in paradise.

Rent 8 or 11 or 17 bedrooms, have a holiday made in heaven or a wedding so perfect, you will remember for the rest of your life.

We are right on the beach in front the best Surf on the Northern, most exclusive part of Santa Teresa beach. Our exquisite sunsets are famous.

Watch yet... another incredible sunset, have a Gourmet dinner at home or one of many delicious Restaurants, then......

Imagine, a beautifully made up bed with Egyptian cotton linen, cool, quiet A/C, the sound of the Pacific while drifting of to sleep, you are in heaven.

Situated on 2,5 hectares of land (about 6 acres) this very charming estate has 200 metres of beachfront and is a few minutes away from FlorBlanca and Milarepa, featured in Voque's Most Exclusive Hotels.

It is the largest beach house in Malpais County, measuring 850 sq.m. (approx 8.500 sq.ft.) whilst still maintaining an intimate coziness. Living room measures 240 sq.m. (approx. 2,400 sq.ft.)

The amenities of CASA CAPITAN are:

8 bedrooms (there are 3 further bedrooms should you require in the 2nd House)

all bedrooms have SuperKing, King, Queen or Double size beds,

all have their own bathrooms

6 overlook beach/pool

2 with garden view,

2 suites have their own private garden,

all have their own private balcony/deck or terrace

Linen: Egyptian Cotton sheets, feather pillows and comfortable, high quality mattresses.

around the pool is a large deck and 3 'Ranchos' (day beds with straw roof) for relaxing, reading, snoozing, socializing or simply a place where you can have a nice cold drink after a hard day's sunbathing or surfing.

4 horses, 3 of which are ride able as the others have young foals.

there are wonderful howler monkeys who visit bringing their babies to eat from our fruit trees.

loads of iguanas, wonderful birdlife.

daily housekeeping/in-maid service,

3 caretakers live on property, Security Guard and dogs.

There is a 3 bedroomed additional house on the property should you require more space, as well as a 6 bedroomed additional house.

  True Pura Vida: The Magnificent Casa Capitan

  It is quintessentially eco-chic with unparalleled beauty and remarkable attention to detail. Its ability to accomodate 14 people (seemingly effortlessly), including one in a wheelchair, meant there was something for everyone. We surfed, jumped waves, went for long walks on the nearly deserted beach, swam in the beautiful private swimming pool, took a yoga lesson at the private yoga pavilion in front of the ocean (also perfect for a massage), found quiet reading spots in the comfy cabanas, sipped amazing coffee in the many coffee shops, dined in topnotch openair restaurants, danced to live music at a local bar, and each night watched the sun set into the Pacific Ocean. - Ahh, Exhale :) -- We travelled from San Jose by private bus via ferry and endured the bumpy patch to get to Santa Teresa, but it was well worth it! Santa Teresa is distinctly quaint - like an old beach town from a 1970's Hollywood movie, filled with surfers & yoga enthusiasts - yet surprisingly well-suited to anyone in search of a slower pace. I can hardly believe that such a place still exists. One note of caution, however - This is a cash-only town. Every restaurant, tour operator, quad rental or clothing store is generally cash-only. The odd place that isn't, charges a premium. - The atms/Bank also charge a big premium and are not always well-stocked. Gratefully, everyone in town knows the Casa Capitan. At least twice, they let us return the next day for payment. Now, that's a vestige in today's world! One other note, while the property is not entirely wheelchair accessible, it is definitely manageable - thanks to the ingenuity of the management & staff. Mucho Gracias to all who help to make Casa Capitan Pura Vida including Soffi, Ismail, Augustina, Julie and especially the ridiculously talented and gracious, Carlota!

  This is the second time I have been to Casa Capitan with a group of friends. We loved it so much we returned this Jan 2013. I have travelled to many gorgeous beaches in the world but this is one of my favorite . The house is perfectly situated over looking the beach , one of the best features is looking out to the beach front from the comfort of the infinity pool. The view of the path lined in palm trees leading to the beach is like a scene from a movie- it is so gorgeous and peaceful . The house is huge and beautifully layed out with loads of room . It is open to the patio and pool area. Each room is furnished with a Indonesian tropical flair and all the rooms are very comfortable and have a/C . The master bedrooms are huge and so beautiful with the dark four poster teak wood beds and open air bathrooms . Everything feels so serene and it is obvious so much care and love has gone into the design /choice of every last piece of furniture . I would not change a thing ! My favorite time of day is sunset at the beach sitting on the wood swing beneath the tree with a cocktail and watching the surfers bobbing in the distance as the sun starts to fade. There is a peace at Casa Capitan that is hard to describe. You certainly are detached from the reality of the hectic world . There are different areas /beds to relax on all over the property and it is easy to slip away and find your own ocean view and breeze to enjoy in privacy . We had our own private chef and a bar tender who made us feel like queens . The house has a fabulous kitchen and local chefs are available to hire. Wh We had morning yoga sessions in the yurt by the beach and out door massages. Carlota, the owner is charming and helpful , evident that she puts her heart and soul into making your stay at Casa Capitan one of the best holidays you will ever have !
