    Additional Location Information

Our house is located at the center of Santa Teresa, right at the beach, in one of the 3 best surf breaks of the area. 200mt away from the main road, so really close, to restaurants, supermarkets, coffe shops and stores.
Santa Teresa: A small but quickly growing village is Santa Teresa, where tourists have flocked since the 1990s. Santa Teresa resorts will place you in the busiest fishing village of the region, where surfing is a must. Santa Teresa resorts stretch along five kilometers of road, with gold-grey beaches to welcome you, once in the tourist village there are Internet cafes, shops, and bars for nightlife which are easily reached on foot. Vacations in Costa Rica do include public transportation though the range is limited to surrounding areas like Mal Pais, Montezuma, and Cobano in the Puntarenas Province.
Wave-riding is not the only attraction Santa Teresa Beach rentals can offer. The forests house many wildlife species and birds. Taking a canopy tour or hike through the forests gives you a different perspective on Puntarenas Province. If walking is not your favorite activity, consider sampling the local flavors by trying the different dishes restaurants have to offer. You could also purchase your own spices and herbs from local markets to put your rental kitchen to good use.

Eat, sleep, surf, read, family, repeat

Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in March 2013

First of all Pia and Pini are perfect hosts. They go out of their way to make sure you are well situated in their villa and to help you plan a nice vacation.

We are a family of 5 (kids 5, 10, 12) who stayed for 2 weeks. The house is small and rustic, with a 'swiss family robinson' feel to it. The outside terasse is loungy with hammoks, beds, and a 10 second walk to check the surf.

We will definitely stay here again.

Be forewarned that you cannot pay with a credit card and to bring plenty of bug spray for the evenings.

Thanks again to Pia, Pini, Milo

Beachfront Palm Villa - Purely Enjoyable

Left on 01/26/2013 for a stay in January 2013

The Beachfront Palm Villa allows you to relax and enjoy Pura Vida, the beauty that is Playa Santa Teresa.
After a long day’s drive from Puerto Viejo de Talamanca to Puntarenas, and an incredibly beautiful ferry ride to Paquera, the 4 of us began a long venture to Mal Pais/Santa Teresa in a compact car (because of a mix-up in adobe Rent a Car reservations). I don’t recommend making that trip in a day (from PV to ST), and I would not go to the Nicoya Peninsula again without an SUV! The already infamous rough dirt and dusty roads live up to their reputation. Saying that… the drive to Mal Pais/Santa Teresa is absolutely worth it!!
Our stay began with a greeting from Pia moments after calling her. She let us in through the gate, gave us the keys and a complete tour of the property, along with helpful hints and advice about dining, shopping and the playa itself. Immediately, the four of us fell in love with the outdoor space.
The house is welcoming and a work of fine craftsmanship. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is adequate, but we all agreed that the shower was probably the best indoor attribute! The back bathroom was roomy, well lit and the shower was huge with great water pressure! Cleaning service came daily and their presence was practically unnoticeable, however, the cleaning was always great.
The outdoor space had views of waves, palm trees, many birds (including our favorite sassy green parakeets), iguanas and the surrounding paradise! The awesome outdoor shower helped us remove the salt and sand from our fantastic beach time. We used the outdoor table for meals including the unbelievably, outrageously delicious meal prepared for us by Chef Gregorio (recommended/arranged with the help of Pia). The hammocks, rattan oversized chair and the four “Caribbean adirondack” chairs were part of the comfort that helped us reach complete relaxation.
Playa Santa Teresa isn’t for everyone. The dirt roads with the dust and zooming quads may put some folks off. The restaurants were delicious (The Bakery provided a wonderful breakfast every morning we were there), the fruits at the markets were amazingly fresh and the people were all friendly. If you need some further info, go to Jobbies Surf Shop.
After 5 nights at the Palm Villa, we decided Santa Teresa was for us!

      Fantastic place

Left on 11/27/2012 for a stay in November 2012

We really enjoy our vacations at Beachfront Palm Villa. The location is great, mostly if you like surfing and surf culture. We where there in November, still the low season. The villa is definitely perfect, gorgeous. We were 5 friends, no couple, and had plenty of place.
However, we highly recommend to watch your stuff: 3 of us were stolen. One lost her Iphone on the beach, the 2 others lost stuff outside the villa. Just be careful, but it is very common in Costa Rica. I'm sure it is not about the villa, but because we were not careful enough.
      We definitively recommend this place.

      Beautiful House - Best location

Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in July 2012

If you are looking for a house on the beach in Santa Teresa, this is the way to go. The house is beautiful. We loved the outdoor shower, both outside the house and the one inside the house! The owner, Pia was a great help in all aspects of this travel from directions from Liberia to where we should eat for my brother's birthday. The house is right on the beach and only a few steps away from the water.

The pool associated with the property is right behind a gate on the side of the house and is a very nice ammenity. The nice cleaning ladies came every morning and took care of everything. Pia stopped by several times to check on us and be sure we were enjoying our stay and checking to see if we needed anything.

I will say that it was very hot in Costa Rica in July/August and the a/c was working very hard to try to keep us cool. However, the huge patio was where we spent most of our time while we were at the house. It's perfect for lounging and listening to the ocean.

      A Rustic experience!

Left on 05/24/2012 for a stay in May 2012

This place is beautifully located. We spent the entire vacation under the great thatched roof
      patio.
Pia greeted us with a fresh fruit basket and a bottle of nice wine--great touch.

The villa itself was rustic and small. (Would be helpful if the listing had square footage).

Had an air conditioner on the 1st floor and a large shower/bathroom. The loft upstairs had the great balcony--the room itself was large.

The bottom floor had a nice sitting/TV area with Wi-fi.Kitchen.

We would visit again because the location was so great. The villa is older and does not have lots of extras.

      Great house great surf!

Left on 01/19/2012 for a stay in December 2011

This house is beautiful! Pia was great to work with through the whole process! I was concerned to wire money for deposit so I spoke with the hotel Luz de Vida next store that shares facilities and booked deposit with my credit card. My husband friends and I checked in really late midnight Pia made specially arrangements with local neighbor to make sure we could get in! The place is amazing built by her husband it used to be their home so it has so much detail. Great cleaning ladies come everyday to do laundry wash dishes and make the place look fantastic! However the best part for me was siting up in bed to to look out and check the surf because one of the best breaks in Santa Tereasa sits right in front of the house. If you surf or love the beach want to hang in hammocks eat amazing local foods in town, have fun don't mind ambient music playing all day from the hotel next door this place is perfect an amazing get away I will never forget!
