Marcel Carolina III is a residential condominium complex located in the center of Santo Domingo capital of the Dominican Republic. Near to everything from the 500 years old Colonial City, to banks, restaurants, the Malecon and shopping malls. At only 30 minutes from the airport and the Boca Chica Beaches.
This two bedroom, two baths condominium accommodates up to four people. The apartment is fully furnished and equipped to make your stay pleasant and trouble free.

the service was very good! we only have a discrepancy on the time of arrival but everything else was very good. colmados with in walking distance and the malls are very close distance for shopping and relaxin.
the internet was ok, but it will be better if we have a faster server...vehicle parking exelent with a security guard 24/7 at the door makes us fell secure... -

Our major complaint was that the map provided on the official site was not at all correct in locating the apartment. The written description said the apartment was "near" the Colonial Zone, and according to this map, it definitely was walking distance to the many museums and historical sights. But, that was the reality.
We arrived after two flights, got our rental car, and started out to locate the apartment according to the map provided. We spent over 1 1/2 hours in probably one of the worst areas of the city-crowded narrow streets, lack of signage, traffic...it was a nightmare.
After contacting the rental office in the States, we found out that the apartment was in a completely different part of the city-far from the Colonial Zone. The local agent, Patricia, had been waiting in the apartment for over 2 hours for us. We had previously told the us agent that we would be renting a car and that we would arrive by car, yet she said that we had not indicated that to her, thus not getting the correct directions to the apartment. If you rent this place, be sure to disregard the map on the Web site and use the written address only, which was completely different from the map location. Patricia was pleasant and showed us how things worked in the apartment. She was also punctual in arriving on our last day.
Pros: The nice safe area and closeness (a couple of blocks) to a supermarket where we bought food to prepare for breakfast and dinner. Parking was never a problem because of the secure area right in front of the building. The apartment itself is spacious with plenty of closet space, and the beds comfortable. There was plenty of hot water every day and our computer worked perfectly. The apartment was very clean. We did not use the air conditioning.
Cons: Distance from the Colonial Zone, the noise outside of the main bedroom
as cars and motorcycles went by at least until midnight, and inner building noise from other apartments to 1 a.m. The ad mentioned providing a toaster, but there was none.
Although the description says that the apartment is for four persons, there were only two coffee cups and little silverware in the kitchen. The pots/pans were rather old and the stove only had one working area of the four.
We feel that for the price we would not recommend this place as there are nicer ones near the Colonial Zone. -

The Condo was very nice and in a very good location in Santo Domingo . If you want to be in area outside the tourist areas like the colonial zone etc and want something different than a hotel than you would like this condo. You have supermarket that you can walk to and shopping malls like the acropolis that are a short taxi ride or about a 10to 15 minute walk. The area is safe and secured and you do not have to worry about leaving your things in the condo . This Condo has back up power so you do not have to worry about power outages and that is a big plus . To sum it up I was pleased with this Condo and would rent again .
