Gazcue is a safe residential neighborhood in Santo Domingo, centrally located in and convenient to everything you could want in town: the Colonial Zone, restaurants, markets, major shopping malls and movies, night life and casinos, the Caribbean waterfront, museums, the subway. From the time I began inquiring regarding this apt in Gazcue I received immed responses to all my ques from the owner, Angel Zabala. He was so accommodating. As a courtesy he picked us up at the airport & took us back @ the end of our stay, free of charge.The apt was very clean, comfortable & home-like. The furnishings were lovely & the beds comfortable.It looks "exactly" as the posted pictures. We were extremely comfortable from the moment we arrived. We esp enjoyed the balcony as there was always a wonderful breeze. We never used the air cond as we were comfortable with fans & open windows.If you want a warm shower (elec is expensive there) you just turn on the wall switch for the hot water tank 30-40 min prior to your shower. I was very happy to see there was a 4 cup electric drip coffee pot there (was not listed under the kitchen items on the website)as I am a huge coffee lover. A 5 gal water jug was supplied on the kitchen counter with a pour spout and a pitcher of cold water was in the refrig.for us. He called us several times that week on our international cell phone to make sure we were comfortable & if we needed anything! Mid-week our water jug was getting low & the next day he came & set up a new one for us. What great service! The kitchen was amply supplied for 4. Dish & bar soap, shampoo, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, kitchen & bath towels were supplied as well as drinking water as mentioned.
The apt complex is very lovely & well kept. Beautiful view of the flowers from the balcony. A security person is always present at the gate.The residential neighborhood was quiet & peaceful & we felt perfectly safe. We were within walking distance to Zona Colonial & visited there several times.
Our family gives " two thumbs up" to our stay there & to the thoughtful, personal & accomodating host, Angel Zabala. We would definitely stay here again vs any hotel room.

This is my third time trying out rentals instead of hotels. Angel's property is, by far, the best and most comfortable stay that I have experienced in Santo Domingo.
Every detail of the property was carefuly prepared and tastefuly done. It was a great location in Gazcue. Quiet, but yet close to everything. The unit was equiped with hi-speed wi-fi, cable tv, washer, fully equiped kitchen, and very comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. Many thanks to angel for his hospitality, and I definitetly hope that the property is available on my future trips to Santo Domingo.

My sincerest thanks go out to my host angel for providing that extra personal touch of care to ensure my comfort in his apartment. His service and the apartment itself made me feel right at home from the start. The apartment complex is quiet and well-maintained daily. Neighbors are considerate and friendly. The apartment interior was very comfortable, casual and extremely clean, while also providing everything I needed to enjoy a home cooked meal with friends at the more-than-ample dining table! I would not hesitate to recommend this host and apartment to anyone making a trip to Santo Domingo. I can't wait to return and enjoy this as my little home away from home!
