Description from the owner
Villa Ilios & Selene is ideally situated 300m above the sea on the cliffs edge in the peaceful village of
Imerovigli. A short walk from the central parking area in the village square will lead you to the
entrance of this smooth-edged architecturally restored ;Canava;. The Villa has a stylish
Mediterranean feel and is classified as a traditional Santorini dwelling.
Guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the Caldera, Nea Kameni, Thirasia, and Akrotiri from either
of the two large verandahs. The house affords two separate living areas - joined together by exterior
stairs - and is perfect for a romantic get-aw...Read more

Imerovigli Lifestyle
The cliff-side village of Imerovigli, with whitewashed houses glittering in the bright sun high above the sea below, is a gem to behold. Removed from the more crowded villages of Fira and Oia, it is a shelter of quiet relaxation and beauty, where local residences coexist peacefully alongside private luxury hotels and traditional Greek restaurants. The colors of the village are dazzling: the brilliant azure sky, rich aqua blue sea, and the earthy reds and blacks of the caldera cliffs are accompanied by splashes of cheerful color in the pretty potted flowers and painted doors and gates of the traditional houses.
The views from the village’s privileged vantage point are simply stunning, encompassing the dramatic cliffs plunging into the deep waters below, the nearby tiny island of Thirassia, the island’s youngest volcano formation of Nea Kameni, the lighthouse of Faros to the south and the northern village of Oia, in the distance. From the soft glow of sunrise to the brilliant colors of the sunset, every moment from this perspective is priceless.
Imerovigli is just a short drive from all of the sites and entertainment in Oia. Fira is only a twenty minute walk along a footpath that follows the caldera’s edge. Take the opportunity to stroll into town for dining, shopping or just for the scenery. When you have had enough of sightseeing anywhere on the island, you will be relieved to return to the peace and quiet of Imerovigli.

Marolles en BrieTrès beau duplex!
Left on 05/15/2013 for a stay in May 2013

DavosA+ Rating for an unforgettable stay
Left on 09/21/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We visited the Villas back in June but i can still taste the sea and cherish the most magical moments from the island. The experience was just simply amazing, the look and feel of the Villa was able to put you in the perfect mood and hospitality was high above average. Sharron personally took care of every single request of ours, making sure we feel like home. The direct view to the colcano is just stunning and nobody can ever get enough of it ! I would definitelly be suggesting Villa Ilios & Selene to any couple wishing to part from everyday's reality and travel in another world for a while. Relaxation rest assured !

New London, Wisconsin, United StatesFantastic View But Needs Updating!
Left on 10/17/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We feel the description and photos were certainly staged right after this villa was refurbished and with creative photography! Granted, the view from this property is fantastic, the quality of the villa was sadly not as expected. The entire villa sorely needed a fresh coat of paint, the kitchen could use updating, and the outdoor furniture cushions were not worthy of the view. We would not recommend this villa if you are traveling with friends, since there is only 1 shower which is in the lower bathroom, reachable only by going through the bedroom, and the second bathroom, which is was very small had a continous foul smell. Lastly, we had a serious issue with the steps which became very slippery after a rainshower and when the hot tub overflowed a bit, as I personally slipped on the very slippery concrete and ended up with significant bruises! We stayed here in mid-October which is really the end of the tourist season in Santorini. Although we enjoyed fewer people, some of the restaurants had started to close down already. In summary, a fantastic villa for the views and hot tub, but sorely needs updating to justify the cost.

Weymouth, United KingdomThe view and space was the attraction
Left on 07/05/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We stayed at Villa Ilios and Seline in Imerovigli for a week in May. The villa commanded a spectacular view overlooking the aegean Sea. The villa was very spacious, but we felt it looked a little "tired" and could do with a bit of a makeover! We also noticed an unpleasant smell in the Villa which we believe was coming from the sewage system. We enjoyed the friendly local cats that visited daily on the patio but didn't like them using the other side of the very low perimeter wall as their toilet, which caused an unpleasant smell although we do believe that when the villa was serviced each day the area was cleared. Also staff members of the local hotels occasionally used our patio perimeter wall as a short cut which rather restricted our privacy. I am only 5' 2" and found it awkward getting into the Jacuzzi, even using the end of the bench seat to climb onto didn't help much, a small set of steps would have been useful. Our inclusive holiday came with a hire car but it was only used for the airport transfers and remained parked up for the duration of our stay, instead we used local buses or went on tours. Fortunately we were able to park the car close to the Villa( a couple of minutes walk away). The car park was very small and always full so if we had used the car daily, parking would have been a problem. The reason for the poor check-in-score was that we were not met at the airport as arranged but thanks to a very helpful Thomas Cook rep who managed to contact our travel company she arranged for our rep to meet us at the Villa as by this time we had at least found the car hire company and secured a car. Finding the villa proved more difficult than we thought. We found Imerovigli OK but no one knew of the villa but eventually the rep spotted us. The small local super market and baker, both close to the villa were adequate. We found Imerovigli to be quite central with Oia and amoudi Bay to the north well worth a visit and to the south Thira and Perissa beach with its black sand beaches and sea front restaurants. Recommended restaurants, Mama Thira in Thira and the Grace Hotel for fine dining in Imerovigli. Overall we enjoyed the villa as it catered to our needs and had that amazing view!

Left on 06/07/2011 for a stay in May 2011
I researched 300 hotels for our May trip to Santorini. We settled on 2 - this lovely villa and then we splurged on the Oia Castle. When we arrived at the airport, Dave was there with a sign with our names on it - I love that. We arrived at our villa which is a short walk, down maybe 20-30 stairs total from parking lot. The villa is at least as beautiful as the photos. The free rental car was also very convenient. Petros made everything easy for us. He even left his ipod for us to enjoy! The villa was a lot bigger than we thought it would be. The closets were very large with lots of hangers, even the hangers to hang skirts. We didn't use the kitchen much, and we never noticed any smell from the water. We were visited by many beautiful friendly cats which would try to get in the villa! We spent lots of time in the very large hot tub, drinking wine until 130am and all the privacy in the world. Seriously. One other place we stayed said you had to be out of the hot tub by 10pm, which was too bad. You cannot imagine the view. It's insane. If you get hot easy you may not want to stay here in the summer, but I tend to be the hottest person in the room and we were fine for late May. It takes the shower 20 min to warm up - if you wait for that then the hot water stays on for 20-25 min. The bed is very firm, but after the wine we didn't care too much! I would definitely stay here again, but I would not choose it in August, because of the lack of A/C. I wouldn't say this property is luxurious, because of the bed, but the linens were high quality as were the towels, so I would say it's a 3.5-4 star. With the addition of the free car, I thought it was a bargain. Petros is super professional and very easy to work with. We wanted the porch swept, and that was done 2 hours later. Firostefani is a very easy walk (downhill) from Imerovigli and Fira is only 1.2 miles away. We ate at Skaros above the villa and had amazing food there! La Maison is right there too, but we didn't go there.

overall, we were very happy with our stay, though there were some problems. there was never any hot water in the kitchen and the outside lights needed to be replaced. the bathroom adjoining the upstairs bedroom had a foul odor most of the time which was a drag as it was very close to the bed. petros, the manager, was always quick to respond and when we had to stay an extra night because the ferry service was cancelled to crete, he only charged us half price for the extra night. all in all, it was great, due to the unbelievable location.

ZurichBeautiful location - nice design – never really clean
Left on 10/28/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We spend a fantastic autumn holiday in this beautiful place. The view and the design of the house is really fantastic. We travelled allot in our live - but something like this we have never seen before.
The only real downside of the place is that it is never really clean. No matter how many times the maid services come by (once per day) the house never feels clean. I don't want to go into details - but this is definitely worth a significant improvement. The water comes from a cistern and quite smelly - don't dare ask about the color.
Nevertheless we have enjoyed our stay.

Even though it was painfully hot at times, the setting could not be more perfect for a romantic getaway. (It was august) Villas Ilios was the most unique place we've ever stayed in. We enjoyed the deluxe privacy & the jacuzzi tub to ourselves.
I would recommend this stay, but have to say that I think the Villas are a little misrepresented in the photos and description. I was under the impression there was air-conditioning; there was not. All we had was 1 small, unimpressive fan. And the pics online were obviously taken when they first refinished it. The furnishing is somewhat shabby.
For the price, we were expecting something newer, i guess.
We found out that what you're really paying for is the spectacular views and many other amenities.
It wasn't exactly roughing it. We would definitely go back; just probably not in the hottest month of the year. -

We were met at the airport as promised, our included car gave us unlimited freedom to see the island and the service from start to finish was very professional. A wonderful location with nothing between you and the caldera - apart from 250 metres. All amenities were provided and gave us a comfortable stay. At least two eating places were nearby - Taverna Imerovigli had good food and excellent service, and La Maison was OK as well. Overall the villa was a magical place to have a stay on Santorini.

Left on 05/03/2010 for a stay in April 2010
we went by accident on your website bcause we could'nt decide of one where to stay between the great numbers proposed by the differents website.
We were attracted by the photograph on your website, and particulary the caldera's view. The real view is as nice as the one on the photographs.
The house is perfect, really typical of the cycladic houses (as we immagined them).
It is very well locaded, near fira.
Romm service is perfect, and we best enjoy the jaccuzi while looking at the sunset on the caldera (and especially our 3 chidren) .
Just a small remarq, the ligthning of the two bathrooms is a little weak.
