Our property is in the heart of Sanur, the oldest developed tourist town in Bali, famous for the whitesand beach where MIck Jagger and Jerry Hall got "married".Sanur is peaceful, with large, sedate villas and is also the area where many diplomatic missions and honorary consulates are sited. The main commercial artery is Jalan Danau Tamblingan where all the restaurants/hotels/shopping facilities are located. We are a 5 minute walk to this shopping artery and also to the whitesand beaches. We are confident we offer relaxing and peaceful, well-organised accommodation to allow you to enjoy your stay to the fullest extent. Plenty of watersports and fun boutiques line the shopping streets. We will be re-vamping our website soon for some delicous local restaurant recommendations and best watersports operators so watch this space! Parking is easy if you decide to hire a car as we have complimentary parking facilites right n front of the property and the suites are also only 25~30 minutes from Ngurah Rai Airport. A group of 8 other coworkers and myself were already headed for Bali to attend a conference together. While we had accommodations for the conference, we were looking for a vacation house we could rent a few days before the conference so that we could attend to some other work. After scanning through the various vacation rentals on Trip advisor, I stumbled across this one that looked too good to be true. As it turns out, it was even better than we had hoped!
Upon arriving in Bali, we were picked up at the airport (complimentary) by the very friendly Starling Villas staff. The owners were even kind enough to accommodate 4 different airport arrivals that we had for everyone in our group for no additional charge.
The actual rental house was great. The property is set up with six individual villas that have beds for up to three people if you wish to pay the small fee for an extra pull-out bed. One of the other reviewers on this page is not lying when they describe each villa as being somewhere around 500 sq/ft. They are big villas! Each villa includes a sitting area with a TV, a small kitchen with a stovetop and mini-fridge, a large bedroom, closet/waredrobe area, a nice sized bathroom with both a shower and a bath tub, and a private outdoor sitting area. All of the villas were very clean and well decorated.
Since we were such a large group, we ended up renting out the entire property (all 6 villas). Thus, we had exclusive access to the properties amenities. The inner courtyard of the property is beautiful. There is a large covered sitting area with couches, chairs and a table. This is where we were served breakfast (complimentary) every morning. We had eggs, sausage, toast, fruits, cereal, and more! It was a lovely way to start every morning. The inner courtyard also includes a pool which was incredibly refreshing in the hot Bali sun.
In addition to the amenities, the property always had at least one staff member on hand to watch over the property and to be there for any needs you might have. This was a huge help when we had to re-arrange our flight plans because of various delays and cancelations. The on-site staff member was able to arrange for new airport pick-ups and drop-offs with ease. Part way through our visit, the owners of the villa stopped by the property to check and see how we were doing. They were incredibly friendly and even offered us some guidance on good places to eat and the best places to go snorkeling (the husband is a well experienced diver; be sure to utilize his knowledge!).
Lastly, we found the actual location of the rental house to be great. While the property does not sit on the beach, it is a short 5-10 minute walk to get to the waterfront and the main shopping/eating strip in Sanur. Even better was the fact that the largest market/grocery store in Sanur was just 2 minutes away. It has everything you might need for your stay in Bali.
All in all, we loved our stay at Starling Villas. The property was beautiful and clean, the amenities were great, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the location left little to be desired. For the off-season price of $60 a night per room, I don’t think Starling Villas can be beat. Book your visit now!Response from I Kadek Sudita - 12/20/2012

From the time we were picked up from the airport to until we left, we were looked after really well. We were met at the airport by our driver with ice cold towels and bottles of water (we ended up using our fantastic drivers for most of the week we spent in Bali) and we were welcomed warmly at the Villa when we arrived after midnight. We really enjoyed our stay with our 15 month old, all of the staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a great time while we were there.

I stayed with friends at Starling Villas just before New Year 2011. We had a lovely time. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are unusually large, clean and stylishly simple with big comfy beds and good aircon. The bathrooms were great too. Starling Villas is tucked away from the bustle of Sanur town high street, but it is only 5 minutes walk away and then another 5 minutes to the beach. The prices are extremely reasonable too. My favourite bit was watching the little white topped birds darting between the bamboo plants in the courtyard.

We stayed at Starling Villas over Christmas and loved the place. The complex is stylishly designed with cool clean lines like a boutique hotels. The rooms are huge (50m+) for a B&B; and come with a small kitchen and breakfast table. With a young child we like to be able to eat in so the set up was perfect for us. Dinners at the main table were even romantic! Also very convenient that Hardy's Supermarket is only 3mins walk away.
The new owners and their staff are gentle and helpful. They really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
