Sanur, Bali, Indonesia
What's Nearby:
Additional Location Information
Villa Warna is located in a quiet residential area in a street where both foreigners and Balinese live. The area is traditional and at the entrance of the street is an important Hindu temple.
The nearest beach to the villa is on the Southern end of Sanur and it has yellow sand and it is the best side for swimming and sunbathing. Most of the big hotels are on this side of the beach.
Sanur was originately a fishing village and it started attracting foreign tourists in the 1920s. Charmed by the long beach and the views of Mount Agung, many artists decided to make it their home. Of course Sanur has changed enormously throughout the years but the Balinese culture is always very present and alive. It is common to encounter a ceremony, to listen to children learning the gamelan in the temples and to observe the commitment of its inhabitants to their religion.
Sanur, as a tourist destination, also has all modern facilities, shops, restaurants and bars. The town boasts a 5km long beach and a paved promenade to take a stroll or ride a bicycle. The sea here is protected by a reef and is always calm, making it particularly suited for small children. The sand ranges from black on the North end of the beach to white on the South end, where the villa is located. It is never congested like other areas of Southern Bali and it is easy to walk, ride a bicycle or scooter or drive a car. It is ideally located to discover the rest of Bali and take day trips. In the villa you will find a folder with information on all cultural and sporty activities offered in the region as well as trips in Bali and the neighboring islands to help you make the best choices.

We stayed at the villa for a month and it was a great experience. The location is perfect - 5-7 min to the beach. The villa is larger then it seems in the pictures. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There's Hardy's supermarket within 10 min drive if you want to cook. If not - most restaurants deliver. Bedrooms are in two separate buildings so you have privacy. Open air shower with frangipani flowers falling to feet were amazing!! Beautiful villa close to restaurants and beach and in safe neighborhood.
Bedrooms huge and outdoor shower was wonderful.
All kept very clean by Piani and Ketut.
A little difficult to find suggest you use 'Jalan Blanjong opposite Jalan Tirtanadi' most taxi drivers know where this is.
Depending on traffic may have to take the short walk down the alley cos motorbikes often block it.
Sleeps 6 - great place for 3 couples with 3 king size bedrooms.
Pool lovely in tropical garden.
Close to Circle K for supplies and just a $6 aus taxi ride to Kuta. -

We were with five adults ranging from 61 years till 79 years of age and rented the villa for what we read up in Tripadvisor. We were two couples and additional female. Distance to the beach was actually closer to 500 mt's instead of 250 mt's, but that didn't bother us at all. The rooms, we took the 3 bedroom option and those were spacious and clean. The big beds were a real treat to us and the airconditioners worked well. I personally sleep without, where as the others used it during the night. We did have some power failures 3 times, but that is part and parcel of being in Bali and has nothing to do with the villa or equipment. Access to transport wasn't a problem and the Blue Bird taxies are cheap enough if you want comfort instead of using the local transport. We made (Bemo) use of those as well, very cheap but don't expect any luxury here. Access to restaurants was also not a problem and De arti was frequently used by us. They had good food, clean rsetaurant and good service as well. We also had dinner delivered from De arti at occasions and that was a real plus. Staff keeping VillaWarna clean were discrete and very helpful, particularly the garden/pool keeper. His English was OK and he certainly understood whatever we asked him. We had 14 days in the Villa and were sorry it came to an end. I may add that my wife and I have been at least 14 times in Bali before and have used all kind of accommodation. This Villa would be in the top 5. but some drivers had problems finding the place as the many "Jalan Blanjong" signs didn't help to locate it. It would help to perhaps use "Jalan Blanjong dallem" . K Circle shop was handy close by. We ate out all the time but the kitchen in the Villa was well equiped enough to cater for 8 people for dinner. All in all we had a good time and recommend Villa Warna!

This villa was amazing, located in a quiet relaxing street it is a short walk into Sanur. There are a lot of lovely restaurants and bars located close by (most of which deliver to the villa!). The villa was large enough for a family or two couples, was lovely and clean and had everything we required, the kitchen had all utensils and equipment needed and kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms were all clean and tidy. The cleaner and gardening staff were lovely. It was a beautiful relaxign environment, which was a stark contrast to Kuta (where we got married) I would recommend it to anyone and we will definitely be staying there again!

Villa Warna was perfect for our family holiday. The villa was clean and very comfortable - even came with a very friendly visiting cat. The staff were helpful and friendly. A car seat was organised for our baby and the driver who picked us up from the airport and did a couple of other day trips was a star. Location for us was great, a couple of blocks from the beach in a little residential area. Bit of a trek to get to the supermarket if you were self catering like we were but not too much of a hardship. We loved it and have recommended it to a few friends heading to Bali.

we stayed in villa warna for 2 weeks in april 2012. it was so relaxing and perfect we did not want to leave. the villa is set out very smart and is perfect for family's and couples. the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the property and are very spacious. the beds are gigantic and wonderfully comfortable. there is also a nice big safe to put all you valuables in and lockable cupboards were very handy.
we used the pool everyday after coming home from exploring sanur and the island.
at first we got the taxies to drop us at the mecure hotel and then walked the short distance back to the villa. but after a while we learnt the name of the street "blanjong" and the taxi drivers and tour guides were more than willing to drop us at our door step.
having the mecure so close by was very handy aswell, as they have a good tour desk in the front foyer and are happy to let you jump on their free shuttle that takes you up to hardys supermarket(where you can find great bargains without needing to barter) in the heart of sanur.
we will definitely be staying again :)
thank you so much to the owners who always got back to us when we were booking, their communication was fantastic.
missing bali already.

Chargrill
It was worth every cent, if not more.
Left on 12/25/2011 for a stay in December 2011
The room rate is charged in Euro and considering most other currencies are “up” on the Euro, the Villa should represent exceptional value for most travellers. The rooms are very large with king sized beds. The rooms were a little tired, the mattresses and sheets past their use-by dates and some areas needed more attention, but in general, most things were generally clean and reasonably maintained. I can see why some would complain, but frankly price should be taken into consideration and for aUD 144 per night for three large bedrooms, kitchen and private pool, it was worth every cent, if not more.
Contrary to the heading, the property is not in close proximity to much. Yes, it is just walking distance to the beach but the beach is no the greatest attraction in Sanur, in my opinion, it is the dead part of Sanur. We hired two motor scooters (for a family of 5) at Rp40,000 each per day – well worth the small investment and makes everything very accessible. There is also less traffic in Sanur making it a little safer than the other locations on the west side. Don't forget you need an international license though, there are police road checks in Sanur (around the Bali Hyatt). We could park the bikes in a locked “garage” at night.
We loved the pool, it was so peaceful and the area is very quiet at night – no roosters in this area!
So what are the negatives? Only a couple, no Wi-Fi – this was a real pain if you need to check emails etc and no Safety box – were are we supposed to put our valuables? -

Arrived back from Bali on the 5th December after spending almost two weeks at the Villa Warna. The villa is extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean (due to the great staff) and is the largest villa we have stayed in in Bali. We hired 3 pushbikes for the 2 weeks and found it an exceptional way to travel the short distance into the heart of Sanur with all of its lovely restaurants etc.
The pool is very adequate, the kitchen is very good (for a balinese kitchen) and there is even unlimited free drinking water at the villa.
Would reccomend this gem of a place to anyone, if I could I would buy it!! -

Left on 11/02/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We stayed at Villa Warna for a week after a few days in the busy Kuta area. The villa is beautiful, fully equipped and very clean. The location is quiet and suited us to be away from central Sanur as we had a motor bike. I was so tempted to get the little green bus back and forward to the markets for shopping. Maybe next time.
A Circle K is very close and we found a lovely restaurant on the beach "Kesuma". Quite difficult to find but we persisted. Ww would love to go back next year. -

The villa is in a lane behind the Mecure hotel. It is an easy walk to south Sanur beach. There are a number of good restaurants close by. The bedrooms are in two separate units either side of an open dining area. The separate bedrooms make it ideal for two couples travelling together, which was the case with our stay. Every thing is spotlessly clean. It has a full size cooker and fully equipped kitchen. The garden and pool area is neat and tidy with poolside chairs, a great place to relax after a day out.I can recommend the villa without hesitation.

First of all there was the warm welcome at the airport: Ina en Ketut waiting for us to bring my daughter and me to the villa.
The Villa was a little paradise with the intime garden, small pool and the open kitchen terrace. Bedrooms and bathrooms, everything was in order, every room, and the stairs decorated by Delphin with little frangipani-flowers. Here we could rest and forget the hectic life back home.
We loved the quiet and peaceful neighbourhood, in the middle of Balinese life: children playing in the streets, merchants with their 'kakilima' at the end of the afternoon, clinging their bells to sell snacks and ice.
We walked to the beach through the small alleys, greeted by the people from the warungs. We hired a bike and cycled through Sanur. Best way of transport!
Villa Warna was really a wonderful place to stay in Sanur. The only problem we had was fighting the cocroaches in one of the bathrooms. But this will not prevend us from coming back to Villa Warna. Once... -

We stayed at this villa for 1 week and were thrilled with the villa, its location, and its value.
The owner/manager was so helpful and accommodating with any questions we had prior to arriving, and the lovely Radma, who came to clean every day was so polite and aware of our privacy. The villa was within walking distance to so many salons for massages, and lots of shops.
The bedrooms are huge as shown in the pictures. We felt so safe with the big walls around the villa, as were a group of women staying, and also felt completely safe walking day or night down the little roads to the shops etc.
Would highly recommend the villas, and we will definately be going back next year. -

Left on 12/09/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We (4 adults and 2 children aged 1 and 3 years) stayed in the villa 4 nights beginning in October 2010 (after 3 nights in Ubud and 2 in Jimbaran) and this was our best accommodation of our journey to Bali (by far) and also the less expensive one.
Travelling in a hotel with young children is not simple and the villa was really a haven of peace as we could let them move without too much oversight, especially as it was very clean and the cleaning was done every 2 days.
The villa is perfect, very well equipped (the bathrooms are majestic), quietly and with an incredible charm. The pool is small but enough to cool off and enjoy.
The environment might be disapointing (neighborhood under work, beach and sea hardly passable because of algae and some detritus) but a walk to the beach is very nice (great sea air) and there are restaurants and massages within 5min walk.
We will definitely go back there for a few days to enjoy the sun, pool and quiet walks along the beach.
We recommend this villa! -

This is an absolutely stunning property very close to the beach in Sanur. My wife and i hired bikes which gave us freedom to explore the entire 5k stretch of beach very easily. there are plenty of nice restaurants and beachside cafes. The kind owner gave us a very good price as we were only a couple and it was low season.
We enjoyed the villa so much that we decided to stay for the entire trip when we initially were going to move around. it is very easy to explore Bali by taxi from Sanur.
The cleaner and gardner were very nice though my only complaint was that they sometimes arrived early in the morning. they were very quiet and no trouble and we even think that this might have been a communication error on our first night when the cleaner lady asked what time we wanted her to arrive at each day. She was very sweet and would arrange flowers in the bedroom/bathroom for us from the beautiful garden each day when she visited :)
I would highly recommend Villa Warna and will definitely return if we go back to Bali!
