Surrounded by fields of maize and rice and set back just 100m from the black sands of Padang Galak Beach and its promenade topped breakwater, the Sanur Residence consists of three modern similarly styled houses. Combined, each of the three-bedroomed houses form a single nine-bedroom residence complete with 25m pool and a full complement of staff. Each two-storey house is self contained with its own kitchen, dining, and living rooms making Sanur Residence ideal for three families sharing. Given the large communal meeting room on the basement floor of one of the houses it would also make a fine executive retreat.

Aesthetically, the houses... are a combination of modern, minimalist design with a hint of traditional materials. Interiors are functional without detracting from the panoramic views. The villa comfortably combines wide expanses of glass, wood floors and metal. Walls are washed white and hung with local arts and crafts. Huge bathrooms are modern terrazzo, with jacuzzi tubs in each master suite and large shower stalls. Floor-to-ceiling doors of brushed aluminium fold back to let in delightful sea breezes giving a natural flow from the houses’ common areas down to the lawns and swimming pool. Bedrooms are generous, all air-conditioned, with comfy mattresses and good quality linens.

Behind the houses are the staff quarters. The villa comes with a full complement of staff including cleaners, butlers and waitresses, a chef and assistant cook, all under the watchful eye of the villa manager. Additional Location Information

The Sanur Residence is set back about 100m from the beach, with uninterrupted views over the Badung Strait with Nusa Penida in the distance. Within the immediate vicinity is little except a few sleepy local houses and villas amongst the rice terraces and fields of tapioca and maize. The small village of Padang Galak is just over a kilometre to the north, but Sanur is the closest tourist town, four kilometres south towards Denpasar. Some of the locals do walk into town along the promenade on which fishermen beach their colourful boats. Sukawati, famous for its cheap local market, is seven kilometres inland en route to the cultural and artistic heart of Bali, Ubud, which is 20 kilometres away. Celuk’s silversmiths, the woodcarvers of Mas and a whole host of other craft guilds are all within easy driving distance.

  We stayed at Sanur Residence with 2 other families. It was perfect as each family had their own house. Dining, pool and lounging is all in a common area so it was really easy to spend time together without being on top of each other. The house manager was fantastic and accommodated all our requests. The food was fantastic and the cooks were able to manage one child's gluten and dairy free diet. It was great not to have to leave the villa to eat. It was so much more relaxing with a total of 8 kids!! Eating out with kids is usually so much work!! The location is a bit out of town, but if you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place for you!! Highly recommend.
