Each morning when the swell is up, surfers flock to the point off Pabean Village to catch the waves. Villa Pushpapuri, part of the Pabean Beach Estate, sits right on the point with commanding views of the action over the black sandy beach. As the morning sun rises, sit on the terrace by the 20m infinity swimming pool or in the shade of the balé (gazebo) and watch the locals pulling snappy re-entries on a right hand break or use one of the villa’s body boards to have a go. In the distance Mt Agung and Nusa Penida can clearly be seen as can, on a clear day, Mt Rinjani on distant Lombok Island. A sprinkling of fishing huts with thei...r pretty banca boats sit just over the adjacent river mouth where there is safer swimming away from the strong currents. In the evening and at weekends the villagers spill out onto the beach. Part modern, part traditional Villa Pushpapuri is beautifully laid out to maximise the sea views. Sliding Bangkrai doors and windows, Sirep roofs, teak terraces and touches of rattan on the furniture give a strong local wood feel enhanced by detailed stone carvings of Balinese scenes. The interiors are exquisitely finished with Thai silks of rich greens, purples, browns, and oranges. Intricate embroided elephants can be found throughout. With 4 bedrooms, a basement games room including darts and a pool table and given its beachfront location, Villa Pushpapuri is ideal for a pampered family vacation. Chefs, butlers, maids and 24 hour security guards, all charming and immaculately dressed in traditional attire, are included with the villa. A driver and car is available for an additional cost but is recommended given the villa is quietly isolated. A car is not essential though as the chef will do all the provisioning on the guests account for a small fee; and spa services and the like can be brought to the villa. All you need to do is relax.Read more
Villa Pushpapuri is right on the beach facing out over the Badung Strait with Nusa Penida in the distance. The villa is on a small reefed headland with a swell popular with early morning surfers. One of the many rivers which flow down off the mountains runs adjacent to the property. The villa is part of the Pabean Beach Estate - a small estate of eight plots named after the local village - down a small track a kilometre or so off the main Denpassar–KlungKung bypass. Within the immediate vicinity is little except a few sleepy local houses and a tiny temple spotted amongst the rice terraces, fields of tapioca and coconut palms. Nearby is the tiny village of Ketewel, while Sukawati (famous for its cheap local market) is a few kilometres inland on route to Ubud, the cultural and artistic heart of Bali.

Magnificent villa on a wonderful island. It exceeded all our expectations, from the staff perfectly managed by Made and supported by the presence and attention of Wayan, to meals perfect. Special attention I need to pay to the permanent smile of all the staff dedicated to make our stay the best. There was always someone looking for our minimum requirements, should it be for a special meal or for information on the religious and cultural history of Bali. Dawe the villa driver was one of our permanent information on how to do or how to go to places we were planning before.
We were diving, doing cultural walks and having relaxing time at the villa, everything was perfect

Gorgeous beach front location with culturally interesting active fishing village nearby. House is well thought out, tastefully decorated and the staff provided 5 star service. The last KM of the approach road is brutally rutted which is a bit offputting on initial arrival, and the neighboring dog does occasionally bark at 5am or so, but beyond that, an excellent experience I have already re commended to others.

Can't sing enough praise about this villa. The marketing photos don't do this place justice - it's just stunning. After a few (several) Bintangs, I challenge you not to fall asleep in the daybed by the pool, soothed by the Ketewel waves crashing in your front yard. The staff (shoutout to anga and Wayan) are unbelievable. And don't let me spoil the surprise of the last supper, but the burliest, Alpha-malest member of our troop needed to excuse himself to "remove an errant eyelash". It's all a bit overwhelming, but the memories are lasting, and the value is unbeatable. The only small downside is the location.. it really is in the middle of nowhere. This, however, is a small problem when the villa conveniently offers a van and drivers to whisk you away to anywhere you please. Recommended+++

We stayed in Villa Pushpapuri in late september the Villa and the facilities were all excellent. The staff were superb especially with the effort they made with our children, organising kite flying on the beach and local dancers to perform at the villa. Very relaxing we will return.
