Often referred to as an undiscovered naturally beautiful location. Completed in August 2009, this 3 bedroom town house sleeps up to 6 persons. On the ground floor, there is an entrance / hall, open plan kitchen, dinner, lounge with patio, shower / toilet and bedroom. Upstairs is the spacious hall, shower room / toilet with doors to the hallway and the master bedroom which has a patio, then also the 3rd bedroom, Upstairs again is the washing machine, hot water heater, and door to the newly tiled roof terrace, water tank and roof storage space. The wow factor is not just the house but the terrific views of the ocean and the tranquillity of the... location, about 10 kilometres away from the city of Mindelo, with it's famous music, poetry, restaurants, nightlife, Lagina beech and all modern conveniences including hospital, doctor, dentist and optician. Whatever your taste or wishes there is lots to do, You can have a house maid and or cleaner at a reasonable cost. A taxi into town will cost about 10 Euros or car hire can be arranged with pick up and drop off at the new international airport on the Island. Tours and visits can be arranged if necessary but make sure you get to see the fish market, the views from the top of mount Verde and visit Bias de Gatas with it's safe lagoon for swimming and snorkelling. Then Calhau is worth a visit on a Sunday if you want to try the amazing buffet lunch from 1pm. There is even a surf school on the Island. It can be windy but this is usually welcome with an average temperature of 25 degrees all year round. There is a fantastic Carnival in February and a Music Festival in August. A short ferry trip to St Antao gives the opportunity for some breath taking scenery and trekking and even to walk inside the fertile ground of a dormant volcano. Flights from the UK are with TAP Portugal who fly via Lisbon to Sao Vicente or Thomson who fly to Sal (the touristy Island - not for me). Now if you still are a little unsure about this trip then just pay my fare and I will come along too! Yes that's how much I love this place.

Additional Location Information

To each side of the townhouse is an adjoining house. Behind is Mount Verde (well worth a trip to the top). In front of the house are uninterrupted views of the ocean. About 2 miles along the road is Norte Baia 1, with a small shop and gas bottles sales. 2-3 miles to the left is Bias de Gatas with its safe lagoon for swimming and snorkelling. About 3 miles to the right is Calhau with a wonderful beach and restaurant. The old road from Calhau to Mindelo boasts many windmills and water bore holes feeding the variety of crops. From the house it's about a 10 minute walk across the sand dunes down to beach.

The house itself and the view we had from there are unforgettable. We really had a fantastic time, enjoying beautiful sunrises in the morning and sparkling stars sitting on the balcony or at the roof terrace at night.
