Spent 5 days over Christmas here. The one bedroom suite was spacious and comfortable and everything was very clean and most of the furnishings, etc., were dated but just fine. Great king size bed! It's on a quiet, well-to-do residential street so was very pleasant to walk to and from. Biggest plus for us (and the reason we stayed there) was its close proximity to St armand Circle - less than five minutes walk away. It was also just a short block from Lido Beach, for those who want this proximity. Took a look into one of the bedroom only rooms and it was very small! It's an older, two storey building, with no elevator so upper floor no good for disabled.
Only real problem was total lack of a nearby grocery store or supermarket. Nothing for miles!! -

What a place. We were promised by Expedia and confirmed by the gentleman answering their resort phone that we would have a bedroom, kitchenette and dining table. What a "bait and switch." This completely ruined our long trip from Upstate New York..get here to find a queen sized bed in a 8x8 room. No cooking facility: only a small frig which froze everything and a tiny microwave. The queen bed which encompassed the entire room was, however, very comfortable. Sarasota is beautiful and the beaches are excellent. We will not trust this place again. My husband found sitting on the toilet (hours at end) a great place to comfortably read.Also, there was no smoking in the room, but the smoking section was outside our window and there was not good ventilation elsewhere. Staff chained smoked to their delight outside our teeny tiny window...

Thank you for sharing you observations and comments. It appears that you booked your room through a third party website and not directly with us. When you book with a third party site, you may encounter people that are not as familiar with the property as you would if you booked with the property directly. We are a small property with a number of different size rooms. We offer from small Guest Rooms to large 3 bedroom 2 bath condo and everything in between. Having a number of different size rooms, there is sure to be one for everyone needs and price rage. Our Guest Rooms, which you booked and the only of our units with a kitchen, although they may be small many people do enjoy them because they are a very affordable option to some who otherwise may not be able to enjoy the beauty of Lido Key. We would have loved to speak to you before you arrive to try and find the correct room for your needs and price. You requested a larger room after you arrived, but we were unable to accommodate you since we totally booked during your stay. Sorry that you encountered these issue and thank you for your comments.

We stay at the Lido Islander and had a great time. The location is wonderful, walking distance to both the beach and St. Armands Circle. St. Armands is a great out door shopping and dinning area. We ate out many times on St. Armands had some goo meals. We had a full kitchen in our apartment which we used mainly for breakfeast and lunch. The rooms were clean and newly painted with a tropical decor. We enjoyed and hope to return next year.
