The property is well appointed in a quiet but convenient location with a good pool overlooking a lake with wildlife.
Although in a quiet location only 5 minutes drive to us Highway 41 & 10 minutes from I75. Shops & restaurants are minutes away & Siesta Key under 10 minutes by car.
The owners Gregg & Hazel live next door & were very helpful at all times. -

Sault Ste Marie (Ontario) CANADAPrivacy and relaxation!
Left on 04/29/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We were looking for a private home rental where we could just relax and not have to pack up to "go to the beach" and we couldn't see ourselves in a condo setting. This rental was the perfect getaway for the two of us to enjoy some much needed sunshine at a leisurely pace. The solar heated pool was perfect for we "northerners" as we tend to prefer a cool dip. We did not lack anything in the accommodations or amenities. The location is also a big plus as it's situated only a few minutes to restaurants, shopping, groceries, pharmacy, etc. Our hosts were very accommodating and provided us with absolute privacy. We've already confirmed for next year!

The house was absolutely perfect for our situation: 4 adults and a small baby.
Inside almost two separate apartments, each with its own bathroom.
The kitchen very well equipped and everything in good state.Everuthing very clean.
The best of all is a nice swimming pool and a lake with plenty of wildlife .We enjoy very much the evenings cooking on BBQ and eating outside.
Thank you very much

Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in February 2013
This is the perfect home for a vacation. Very clean and spacious and all the comforts of home. The outdoor pool and deck was a favorite for the grandchildren. We all enjoyed watching the wildlife in such a serene and peacefully surrounding.
The house is a perfect location for the beach, shopping, theater, dining and tourist attractions. A nice quiet neighborhood to take a morning walk. Something for everyone! Siesta Key Beach is a "must do" for everyone. Nice that beach chairs, towels, sand toys and cooler were provided. A short drive to St.Armand's Circle for shopping and dining is also a must.
Greg was so helpful with any concerns we had and addressed them immediately. He was more than willing to make our stay such a comfortable and rewarding experience . We will be returning next year for another wonderful vacation!

We very much enjoyed our week long stay. The relaxing atmosphere overlooking the lake and pool was great. The close proximity to the beaches was the main draw and proved to be wonderful. The 3br 2bath home was quite spacious and the floorplan lent itself well to our group of 6 adults. We enjoyed the pool table too!

Left on 01/03/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We chose this house because of its central location (I know Sarasota well) - close to downtown for dining and the arts, shopping all around and in a good part of the Tamiami Trail for dining options. Plus easy access to Siesta Key for the beaches and village dining. The neighborhood is older, but clean and very quiet. The house is equipped well, showers, heating & air & appliances & internet & cable TV all worked properly. It is older, so don't expect a yr 2000+ single family home, but we'd certainly stay there again. No complaints at all. The pool was clean and warm enough during our stay to swim on sunny December days - just got to be brave and get in the water then it felt fine. The best feature was the back yard and pool, next to the lake, with well laid out decking. To my great surprise I saw a pair of otters just feet away, below the small deck that extends over the edge of the lake. With the rear of the house facing west, sunsets were magnificent. Arrival and departure were straightforward - all details provided via e-mail and thank you Hazel for a very quick return of our deposit. A few dining tips: Cafe Baci, very close on us 41, been going there for 20 years and never bettered, Bonjour cafe on Siesta (it's really French and good), for something different and very good, also very close on Swift the 4 and 20 Pasty Company for something to eat by the pool and for a special dinner try Indigenous. Finally if heading north towards downtown, turn left down Swift and you'll avoid the stop-go Us-41 at peak times.

we would fully recommend this property. We stayed for 10days with family. There is plenty of room and two couples could easily have seperate living areas.
it was a completely furnished home right down to salt & pepper!
Lovely pool area and decking right on the lake where you can watch the sunset and rise and plenty of wildlife to keep you entertained.
Just a short walk to shops, restaurants & pubs.

W received excellent and prompt service from Gregg and Hazel right from initial enquiry through to actual stay and then the return of our deposit. The house is lovely, spacious, clean, well equipped with everything we needed.
The view from the deck is stunning and watching the birds and animlas around the lake was a real delight. The evening sunsets were magical. The house is very well located in a lovely quiet area but also very near to many gorgeous beaches with some of the best sand I have experienced. Would definitely go back there again. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. -

My sister, myself and our two adult daughters spent two perfect weeks in the Sarasota home. We enjoyed the pool almost every day and just sitting outside enjoying the beautiful scenery. The four of us love to go biking and biked all around the neighborhood. We found quite a few quiet streets to bike on. There are beautiful bike trails nearby, but it is not necessary to use them. The home is very comfortable and very clean. Gregg and Hazel supply their guests with everything they could possibly need. An added perk Siesta Key Beach is only 5 miles away. It is a wonderful place to vacation! Thank you Gregg and Hazel

My family spent the holidays at Gregg and Hazel's house and had a wonderful time. The house is well kept and big enough for everyone to have their own space. We loved the pool table and the outside space is amazing as well. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked, so we were able to enjoy dinners each night, and used the grill outside as well. Since we were there in December, the pool was too cold to swim in, but we did spend a lot of time at the nearby Siesta Key beach, which is beautiful. There's lots to do in the area, including kayaking, state parks, parasailing, jet skiing, etc. Overall we had a great time, and Gregg and Hazel were very responsive when any issues arose. Would stay there again!

Left on 01/11/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We really enjoyed the house and found it even better than the pictures. The deck area and pool were terrific. They pool table was typically the center of our activities in the home. We enjoyed the 3 big screen HD tvs, as we stayed during key sporting events. The Siesta Key Beach was just a short drive from the home. Gregg and Hazel were so kind and hospitable. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone interested in being in the Sarasota/Siesta Key area for vacation.
Only downside was a cold pool, but understand this is the norm for home in Florida in January that are thermally heated. -

Hazel and Gregg have a lovely vacation home and are very accomodating. The kitchen is very well stocked and there were lots of games and activities. The pool table was hours of fun! The swimming pool, patio and bbq were appreciated. The kitchen is open to the rest of the house and really makes for a nice casual atmosphere. We highly recommend this house to a family who is looking to enjoy a relaxing getaway!

We had a fabulous time renting this villa. Its in a very good location, close to the beach & shops. There was lots of things in the villa for us to use, i.e towels for the villa & the beach/pool, hairdryers, an iron, even some condiments in the cupboards, a bbq, sunbeds & beach chairs, the pool which was lovely & warm & the pool table which got used a great deal. Also there was a washing machine & dryer which was very handy. One thing would have beeen nice is if the pool had a lanai allowing us to sit outside in the evening. Besides this myself & travellers with me loved it very much, had a great time & would definately recommend this villa to others & also rent this villa again ourselves.
We would like to thank Greg & Hazel very much! -

Left on 03/01/2011 for a stay in February 2011
This house is perfectly located in Sarasota for getting to the best beaches, sightseeing and restaurants. The setting of the house is wonderful, especially with the large deck overlooking the pond/channel, being able to watch all of the wildlife in the mornings while enjoying breakfast (and the sunset during the evening meals). Gregg and Hazel have provided so many extra ammenities to make our stay easier, less "stuff" to bring - they are exceptional landlords. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the house, the pool table, but especially the pool and deck area.

We were looking for a place to stay after our daughter's wedding in Florida. Family was coming from France for the occasion so we needed a home with a kitchen and a large dining room table (cooking and eating are important for us!!)We stayed in this very comfortable, clean and well equipped home for a week. Our hosts even let us stay an extra night to accommodate us. The house is bigger than what the pictures show on the web site. The deck facing the lake is wonderful, peaceful and well maintained. The pool is great and Cregg stopped by to clean it.The kitchen has everything you need with updated appliances. We especially enjoyed the long table in the dining room (we were able to invite people over ). The layout of the house is such that everybody gets their privacy. (wonderful for the snorers!)
House is close to a grocery store and restaurants, close to the beach and easy access to the main highway but yet in a very quiet neighborhood.
High speed, phone, pool table,BBQ, games,a few DVD, a flat screen TV with cable, large garage, full size washer and dryer and comfortable beds were a plus for us. Also a notebook on the kitchen counter with flyers, brochures and even coupons of the nearest attractions, maps, restaurant, delivery, etc...
We had a wonderful time in Sarasota.Thank you Hazel and Cregg, you sure know what to do to put a smile on people's face! -

My family and I stayed here during a recent vacation and found the house to be an excellent choice. My children felt at home immediately after arrival and we were pleasantly surprised at the well-equipped kitchen as we like to cook. This is a great place to stay for families or a group who are looking for an affordable yet great place to be based to explore the Sarasota area. The bedrooms are comfortable and the pool is great for cooling off after the beach or just hanging out during the day in solitude. The house is on a small lake or pond and has plenty of wildlife but it isn't intrusive in any way. The wireless Internet connection is very fast and the phone answering machine useful for those who need to do business while on vacation. You can easily enjoy the entire Sarasota area from the house's centralized location.

Just a quick note to thank you for sharing your Mayflower Drive home with us this past week. We had a truly lovely time and the house, location, amenities, your helpfulness -the entire package was perfect!
The view from the back onto the lake was fabulous, the pool was terrific, and talk about location! We enjoyed being so close to the beaches, then at night be able to enjoy the pool.
The house was so comfortable to have my Dad & Step-mom come for a visit that they ended up having a much needed mini-vacation as well. I loved the spaciousness of the house and of course the pool table was a hit.
Our only regret is that we had to leave!
Thanks again and we are looking forward to being able to rent again from you, until then take care and stay cool! -

We were in Sarasota at Hazel and Greg's place for two weeks. It was wonderful. It was quiet, a very nice neighbourhood. It couldn't have been more peaceful and serene overlooking the river every morning with a cup of coffee in one's hand, otters and ducks swimming by lazily. We would go back in a heartbeat. Hazel and Greg are absolutely wonderful, they leave you alone but yet if there is any problem they are there to help us out with practically anything from where to buy the best and most reasonable groceries, fresh produce, bargain gifts etc. We would recommend this place to anyone. Only 5 minutes from the ocean and close to everything else.If you do decide to go you will not regret it.

Great home away from home. Has everything you need to have a good vacation. Everything is in great shape. Very comfortable. House is centrally located to everything. Beaches, grocery stores, shopping mall, restaurants, movies. We really enjoyed the sundeck and gas BBQ grill. Great view of lake and beautiful colorful sky at sunset. Lots of space. Worth every penny. Pool table was a great added bonus, everyone really enjoyed it. It was like staying at our own private resort, so spacious. House even has a fireplace, but we never had to use it. Hope to be able to come again next year. Been coming to the West Coast for years. This is the best experience we have had with regards of accommodation, and value for your money. You will love the powdery white sand on Siesta Beach and Shark's Teeth hunting at Venice Beach. Owners are very nice & easy to get hold of.
