Set high on a hill at the top of a valley, we are surrounded by magnificent countryside, a network of pretty footpaths and a neighbouring historical chateau. The breathtaking valley views and surrounding grounds will overwhelm you with a feeling of peace and tranquility disturbed only by the abundance of wildlife and the occasional distant tractor.

Additional Location Information
Situated within the hamlet of La Tour we are two minutes from the pretty village of Sainte Nathalene with a bar, hotel, restaurants and small shop. Just 7 miles from the historical town of Sarlat-la-Caneda with more listed buildings than any other town in Europe and a twice weekly market, it is perfectly placed for access to all of the most beautiful sites in Dordogne and Lot.

Chris was a perfect host. Before we ever left for France he was very helpful concerning currency hassles involved with the damage deposit. His directions were perfect, and he made helpful suggestions concerning restaurants and places to visit. The cottage was clean and possessed everything we needed. The rooms looked just like they did in the web site photos; nothing was misrepresented. The grounds and pool were very attractive. The location is one of the cottage's best qualities. Sarlat is a very interesting city and is only a few minutes away. The Dordogne boasts many interesting chateaux and villages, and this cottage was close to all of them.

Lovely, comfortable accommodation in beautiful surroundings within 20 minutes drive of Sarlat. Amazing view. Plenty of walking opportunities with a wide variety of marked footpaths. Abundance of wildlife, beautiful birds (including the four chickens and very quiet friendly dog.)
The weather was variable whilst we were there, fabulous when hot. The efficient woodburner rapidly heated the room and made the house cosy when cold and rainy. -

We have just returned again ( we were last here some 18months ago) from a fabulous week in excellent accomodation and capped by magnificent weather.
Mine hosts the Waters were excellent guides as to what to do and where to go in the area. We particularly liked Sarlat Market on Saturday but you do need to be reasonably early to get the best from the local produce stalls.
The accomodation is to a high standard and we will certainly return. -

We had an excellent stay at this cottage, part of a 16th century farmhouse with views across the valley. Each day we'd explore the countryside and were happy to return to our slice of paradise to make dinner and sip wine on the patio.
The place is quiet and the nearest nightlife is a 15 min. drive away, so don't expect an urban setting (we didn't want one). You're perfectly situated to explore all the castles and villages of the dordogne. On site there are lots of activities for kids (or big kids, as my wife and I jumped on the big trampoline a few times), such as ping pong, swimming pool, trampoline...
Great time here. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a rest in the French countryside.
