The staff was fabulous and couldn't have been more helpful. The girls that helped us cook were worth their weight in gold.
The beauty, the spacious quarters, the country feeling.
Someone should have told us that the biggest bug threat was not mosquitoes...it was scorpions. The wildlife was not deer, but wild boars. -

The remote location, the tremendous view, the flora and fauna, and the helpfulness of the staff. They were incredibly responsive and helpful and even assisted us in getting medical attention when a member of our group developed a throat infection.
A few large earth-moving and logging trucks and machines passed in the very early hours in the beginning of the week waking everyone in the villa.
Towns of Sarteano, Montepluciano, and Radicofani. -

The abbey itself is interesting, and the staff will give you a tour if you ask. We enjoyed seeing the wedding preparations for a wedding that was held there and were sorry to miss the town festival being held at the abbey the next day.
The view was beautiful, and the staff were kind and helpful. It was very pleasant having the maid service daily and getting the new linens. We enjoyed the walking trails surrounding the property, and we found rosemary, dill and oregano growing around the property which we used in our cooking. The bedrooms were very spacious and nicely laid out, and the beds were comfortable - a real asset!
The house could have been REALLY spectacular with a few improvements: better lighting for reading, lighter wall paint (in my opinion), and a new cook top in the kitchen. The dining room table was nice, but I found the metal folding chairs to be uncomfortable. The outdoor furniture needs to be updated. It would be nice to have a paved walkway to the pool.
The countryside was beautiful, with a view at every turn. There were a number of interesting towns and sights within a half hour drive, including Montepulciano and Chiusi. Montepulciano has a medieval festival the last Sunday in August, which we very much enjoyed attending. -

The peace and quiet and the breathtaking view were great.
The downstairs shower was small.
The horses added to the serenity of the property, and the villages and views were spectacular. -

Italy is wonderful. All in all, it was a wonderful trip and I think everyone had a great time, particulary once the beds in the downstairs bedroom were changed. It was interesting that the Abbey is a horse breeding ranch for Trotters. We were also surprised by the number of pheasants - and the wild boar were really fascinating. Thanks for your help both before and during our trip. Could I get another copy of your book, we found it to be one of the best guides we had because it answered the questions easily and directly without a great deal of searching.
The picture you have on your web page is not what I would use because the BEST part of the villa was the view. We looked down over a grain field to a reservoir and the Abbey in the background - a great view. In the evening the Abbey is all lit up and provides another great view. When I get all my pictures I will see if we have one that does the villa justice. Should be a picture showing part of the villa, but capturing the view in the background.
In the living room there was only seating for 6-7 (if you moved the chair from the dining room). The day we arrived, May 11, it was in the high 70's or low 80's, but there was no outdoor furniture. They seemed to be more concerned with getting the pools ready than the outdoor furniture even though I had not expected to have a pool available at all before June 1; but I had expected outdoor furniture. We eventually had 11 chairs for outside. -

Modern renovation, modestly furnished but comfortable, pleasant views.
Hugh wonderful bathtowels, heated towel racks and ensuite baths.
Sulfur smell in the mornings, never worked out where it came from. Poor lighting in bedrooms and bathrooms.
The backroads and tiny hilltowns. Also accessibility to Rome and Florence by train from Chiusi. -

I give it rave reviews!!! We absolutely loved the house and would do it again. The area was perfect for us. Loved the rural setting of the house. We took day trips in every direction from Montepulciano all the way to Assisi. The old section of Sarteano was very quaint, and is in the process of being restored. Also Chiusi had a great grocery store and was close enough to take the train to Florence and to Rome.
The gracious people in the office who took care of our every need. Including finding a wonderful cook that was with us 4 nights out of our stay. The kithen was well supplied.
The narrow unpaved road which is also slippery when wet. -

We thought we were in heaven. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend this property to anyone.
The setting was beautiful. The house was conveniently laid out.
We really have no complaints.
Convenient to many hill towns, but being in Southern Tuscany, it was a bit less crowded than areas nearer Florence.
