Description from the manager

Cottage Profile This comfortable 930 square foot cottage is located across a large grassy lawn from the shores of Lake Huron. The shoreline is rocky at the cottage but still good for swimming, and there is a sand beach 5 km away. Trees surround most of the property, providing some privacy. There is a patio area at the front and to the side of the cottage (each with a door allowing access to the inside). On the front covered patio area there are cushioned chairs looking out at the lawn and lake beyond. There is also a patio table with cushioned seats and a BBQ available for use. Lovely sunsets can be viewed from the lakeside deck down on the w...Read more

      Fantastic stay!

Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012

This was an amazing week all around. Terrific cottage, perfectly well-equipped, comfortable and relaxing. This was our first time renting a cottage since moving to Ontario, and we couldn't have been more thrilled with our choice. The price was more than reasonable, the cottage had everything we needed, and we were able to escape the rush of Toronto with ease and comfort. The cottage is about 20min from Wiarton, which was a perfect distance. There was pretty much no cell service there except for a brief moment here and there, but we were happy with that -- we weren't tied to our phones! And the cottage had a landline so we weren't completely cutoff. There were only really two things I can say that maybe we weren't expecting: it's not quite on the water, since the water is considerable receded from the shoreline, so it's a little walk...but not bad at all. Also, the cottage has a rocket hub for internet (works like a cell phone) but there was no interenet the entire time. Again, we were happy with that because it meant we weren't tied to technology, but there were a couple of instances where it would have come in handy. But these are very minor points and do not detract from my 5 star rating! Best of all the place is dog-friendly, and our dog loved it!! Shallow water to play around in, off from the road enough we didn't have to worry, and quiet neighbours you could barely tell were there...so we never had a worry!

All in all, this was a perfect week for us, start to finish. Great cottage, amazing value, and completely relaxing on every level! Our sincere thanks to the lovely owners...kudos on a great property!

      Rest and Relaxation

Left on 06/29/2012 for a stay in June 2012

This very private cottage hosts an open spaced kitchen/dining/living room combination that is very cozy and intimate. The two bedrooms with queen sized beds in each are elegant and homey. The third bedroom hosts a set of bunkbeds and state of the art washer/dryer. The bathroom is central to all rooms with a full sized bathtub and facilities. Everything you need is at your fingertips. The kitchen is well stocked for those that love to cook. The porch hosts very comfortable and cozy patio furniture. The unattached deck overlooking the water was my own private little getaway, with the sound of the breeze in the trees in one ear and the sound of the waves in the other. This was my own peaceful and private getaway. I took short lovely drives to either Wiarton or Sauble Beach for shopping and groceries. The firepit at the cottage is also private but wonderful for a handful of people to enjoy. I've stayed here twice and enjoyed every minute of both visits. I truly wish I could stay forever. The sunsets are marvelous.

      great getaway

Left on 08/27/2010 for a stay in July 2010

Everything was great and well maintained. The lake was a little far out and to hard to get to but there were nice beaches close by. It was relaxing and had everything you could what plus much more. This definitely had more than your average cottage rental.

      RE: Cottage Experience

Left on 11/01/2009 for a stay in August 2009

This cottage my family stayed at was a great experience, there was nothing disappointing about it. It was very private, very clean and had just about everything you can think of. The fire pit was all I had imagined, weird but that was important to us, the conversation around a fire as a family is a great way to get to know each other. The set up was simple enough to know what you can use and what you can't. The bedrooms were roomy. There was plenty of room to play out doors for the kids to be safe; far enough from the road and any deep water! Even my pet was safe! This cottage rental was one of the greatest weeks we as a family hasve ever expereienced. So if anyone is thinking about renting this cottage, do it. I would be a repeat customer here and more than likely you will too!
