Cottage Profile This charmingly classic 3 bedroom, 1300 sq ft cottage is only a 100 metre walk away from a sand beach on Lake Huron at Oliphant. It offers excellent privacy in a lovely setting. Lonely Island is fully accessible by road. The most distinctive feature of this cottage itself is the 600 sq ft wood deck with plenty of chairs, patio table, umbrella and various sun and shade options. Additionally, there is a beautiful stone patio with a steel fire bowl for chilly evenings and a large grassy area at the front for some daytime badminton or croquet. Inside, the focal point of the space is a beautiful stone fireplace with the living room... on one side, and the kitchen and dining area on the other. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher and offers plenty of counter space including an island for meal prep, great cupboards and a built-in oven. You can watch TV or enjoy the front yard view while brewing the morning coffee. In this same space, you will find a dining table to comfortably seat six as well as sliding glass doors leading out to the deck and the gas BBQ. In the living room there are two leather sofas under the cedar-panelled cathedral ceiling. A TV with satellite service, a card table with a crokinole board and plenty of occasional chairs for movie viewing or an evening read, fill the carpeted space nicely. Views out the picture window are of the tree-lined front yard and the quiet access road. There are three bedrooms at the cottage. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and the third, 2 twins. There is one large 4-piece bathroom and another 3-piece with a roomy glass shower stall. Directly across the street is the route to a small beach that is great for children’s sand castle dreams. It is accessed through the property of another cottage also owned by this owner. The nice gradual entry into the water makes for a safe place for the kids to enjoy a dip in the water. The owner has provided both a kayak and a canoe for your use. The public beach is adjacent. Oliphant has recently become one of the best locales in Ontario for kite boarding. Because of the expansive beaches, shallow temperate waters and consistent wind, it is a haven for experts and beginners alike. The cottage is centrally located to other attractions as well. There are over 5 golf courses within a 35 minute drive and there is great cycling on the miles of paved back roads in the area. The renowned beaches and attractions of Sauble Beach are just 7 km to the south. An interesting place to check out is the Oliphant Fen – a great place for local flora & fauna discovery and to learn about this unique type of wetland along the boardwalk trail.

  nice cottage and finally beautiful weather for holidays

  cottage was very nice and very clean. The area was very quiet and the beach was nice but better for small children rather than older teenagers but the main beach in sauble not far away.

  Really good for water sports

  Really good for water sports, but the beach was not great for casual swimming and sand play. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. But the beds were very squeaky.
