Cottage Profile Newly renovated, four bedroom, 1800 square foot located 150 feet from the shores of Lake Huron on Oliphant. The beautiful sands of Lonely Island Beach are just 1.5 km away and Sauble Beach is only a ten minute drive. Enjoy close proximity to beautiful sand beaches as well as the peace and quiet of the Oliphant area. Ashen pine hardwood floors run throughout the main living area of the cottage. The living room has a sofa and three chairs to unwind in after a day at the beach. This was our 2nd time at this cottage, we went with my sisters family so it was 4 adults and 4 children (ages 5 - 7), and once again we were not disappointed. The cottage is so clean & cozy, had everything we needed. The huge backyard was fantastic for the kids...we felt comfortable letting them play out there while we made dinner! We will definitely be going back summer of 2012.

Our only complaint about this cottage was the extreme heat at night. The lower level was very comfortable at night because of all the windows, but the upper level stayed hot all day and night despite the ceiling fans. One fan was unusable because it made too much noise. The owners might want to consider better (quieter) fans or window a/C units upstairs. The rental fee was a little high considering this. Otherwise a beautiful cottage, comfy beds, great back yard and fantastic beach nearby.

We stayed at Beach Grass cottage for one week last august and it was perfect for our family. The cottage is extremely clean, spacious and comfortable. The backyard is gorgeous- we used the fire pit several times. The front is not private, but everything else makes up for it. The games room was a favourite for the kids!

This cottage was beautiful. Very spacious and clean, many things to enjoy (bikes, fire pit, games, quiet beach not too far away, and main Sauble Beach a 10 minute drive away) The weather we had was intensely hot and the ceiling fans in each bedroom helped. My entire family enjoyed their time there (all 8 of us!)

We very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely house. It is even more attractive than the photos and was very well equipped with everything you need for a home away from home (our teenage son was particularly happy about the Playstation and the satellite TV!)
The Lake Huron shoreline, a short walk from the cottage, was very nice for walking.
My only caveat would be that the beach was a short drive (1-2 minutes) away (Lonely Island Beach). This would be a great beach for little ones as it is very shallow a long way out. We also drove to Sauble Beach (10 min. away) several times. However, you have to pay for parking at Sauble Beach during the day, so be prepared.
All in all, we had a peaceful, relaxing week at Beach Grass Cottage and would highly recommend it, especially for a family with children. -

What a lovely way to spend our vacation. The Beach Grass Cottage in Oliphant felt like home the minute we arrived. The beautifully appointed cottage had all the details of a warm and relaxing beach cottage.
The shores of Oliphant were a bike ride away which was a great way to start our days and the trip to Sauble Beach for waves was a short ride in the afternoon. In the evenings after a barbequed meal eaten al fresco, we stoked the firepit and marveled at the star-filled sky.
The pace was casual and comfortable making it a joy to pass a day or to entertain friends. With four nicely finished bedrooms there was room for everyone to have their space as well as room to congregate in the large common rooms for games and gathering.
Next year we're planning on two weeks!
