      Quiet and peaceful

Left on 10/20/2011 for a stay in August 2011

We spent a great week chilling out at the cottage and at the beach across the road. And got one day of windsurfing too. Great location for our 2 year old daughter and our Jack Russel Terrier.

The cottage and surrounding area of Oliphant was exactly what we were looking for. The cottage was clean and just the right size for the two of us plus our dog. We enjoyed many walks in the area and several day trips to neighbouring towns. We'll definitely be back!

Very comfortable cottage, cosy, open fire, wood.
Beds not the best, soft. Everything else was just about perfect

      A most relaxing week!

Left on 10/29/2009 for a stay in September 2009

From beginning to end, our experience with rentcottage.com was pleasant and efficient. The cottage property was exactly as advertised ... clean, extremely well-equipped and wonderfully private. Sunset views of Lake Huron across the street were spectacular.

This property is perfect for a couple or family with one child. Very cosy eating area, kitchen, sunroom and living room. We very much enjoyed the outside decks.

      A marvellous venue

Left on 09/01/2009 for a stay in August 2009

A charming cottage - not large, but well-equipped and well-furnished. Absolutely perfect for our requirements. The outside seating area was comfortable and delightful, with the boldest chipmunk it's ever been my pleasure to feed.

A quiet setting - road noise was never an issue. Various short, pleasant walks from the cottage to the lake (and an osprey nesting platform), to a small variety store or to a board walk on the fens.

Only about a ten minute drive from Wiarton - near enough and yet not too close.

All the cooking equipment (including the barbecue) worked well. The television, satellite TV, and dvd player worked well, and provided diversion during rainy days. It was nice to tune to classical music through the satellite during dinner.

We enjoyed the cottage so much that we have booked it again.

Perfect location espacially for wind surfing.

Perfect location espacially for wind surfing.

-Really Good Internet (Valuable for wind predictions)
-TV and DVD is really good if you have a rany day.
-Good access to water easy to go for a swimm.
-Terase and BBQ included are perfect.

      Accomodation is really good.
The only negative commant I could say is:
-Tape water is not drincable. They provide big bootle water wich is really nice and compancate bute the water smell bade so showeres are not has nice as they could be.
This is why I did not put 5/5 stars.

We already tried to rent for an other week but the place was book.

      Great little cottage

Left on 07/23/2009 for a stay in June 2009

We had terrible weather - rainy and cold but the cottage was a warm safe haven from the elements. It is rustic but has all the conveniences of a modern home including flat screen tv, dish satelite and internet. The best was the warm wood burning stove for those cool nights. will come back again.

Cozy, charming, nice location - good for a couple of kiters

Left on 06/18/2009 for a stay in June 2009

The owners are quick to respond, friendly and helpful with strong service values, and are a great source of information on the area.

The cottage felt roomy for the actual square footage, and was nicely furnished throughout. The water cooler is a bonus and they provide pillows and a bed cover. The kitchen work area is limited -just adequate if you are well organized. Bring an extra saucepan - food sticks too easily to the existing ones. There's no drink pitcher or non-stick type utensils. Heating is more than adequate, though the dials take some getting used to. Loads of windows for cooling the cottage and a clothesline for your gear.

Off the front deck and the dining area are excellent places to view sunsets over the lake. The owners also have a boat service. There's Internet access, so good for accessing wind reports on SailFlow, etc. The landscaping and outdoor seating areas are very cool.

We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was nice and clean and had everything we needed and more. There was a problem with the shower but the owner lived nearby and was there almost immediately to try and solve the problem. Unfortunately we did not get to enjoy our entire week as we were called home due to a family emergency but would definitely like to go back again this year!

      Oliphant views

Left on 02/05/2009 for a stay in August 2008

The cottage was nicely equipped. We found it roomy enough for two couples and a few kids, more than 2 kids would seem cramped though. Had all the amenities for a nice stay. The bathroom was new - lots of water including hot. Owner provided bottled water for drinking. The BBQ actually worked and the patio was a nice touch. Morning walks out to the beach were lovely. Learned how to Kitesurf in one day - lots of instructors. A nice restaurant within walking distance - short drive to Sauble. Overall nicely maintained. Will return.
