Very nice apartment in great location!

Left on 07/13/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We had a great stay in this nicely decorated two bedroom, one bathroom apartment. The very large and nicely decorated rooms and had everything that you would need away from home. We did our laundry and prepared our breakfast. We stayed in apartment a that overlooks the shops on Butler Street. Kevin, the manger and the people at the Bella Vista Spa were very quick to address our concerns/questions. I would stay here again.

      Great apartment, great location!

Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in July 2012

My family and I visited Saugatuck over July 4th and stayed in the Butler Street Flats. We rented out both 2-bedroom apartments, which was the perfect amount of space for all 13 of us (8 adults, 5 kids). The location is great-- it's in walking distance to all shopping area, restaurants, and ice cream shops. Everyone was very pleased with accommodations!

      Great apartment, Perfect Location

Left on 06/12/2012 for a stay in June 2012

This is a great apartment right in the middle of downtown. We stayed in apartment B, which has a deck in the back. Not much of a view from the deck, but its a great place to spend the afternoon with a glass (or bottle) of wine. There is private parking in the alley behind the building, so you don't have to worry about finding a spot.

The beds are very comfortable, and there is a fireplace that we made absolutely no use of in the living room. There is a full kitchen with microwave, stove, dish washer, and a table for 4. Bring what you need for meals; the closest grocery store we could find was in Douglas.

Warning, there is a Kilwin's right next door. Ice Cream and Fudge may be to close for the easily tempted, like me.

The only negative I have to share were a few things that could use a little fixing up. These would in no way stop me from coming back, but I list them here to hopefully get them fixed for myself and others.

      - Light in Stairway to apartments was out
      - Nobs are missing from some cabinets in the kitchen
      - Towel bars are loose in bathroom.
      - One of the kitchen chairs is getting really loose

again, not deal breakers in the least, but worth noting.

      Perfect place to enjoy Saugatuck

Left on 01/23/2012 for a stay in October 2011

Visited in the fall with a couple of friends for a girls' getaway. The location on Butler Street is fantastic. You are literally surrounded by boutiques, restaurants and galleries. Amenities are no more than a short walk away, nearby Douglas and Oval Beach a 5 minute drive. The units are clean, modern, well appointed. The gas fireplace is a nice perk on chilly nights and you can see beautiful fall foliage from the front window. The manager is a friendly chap, very responsive to any additional needs. We needed an air mattress and extra bedding and received it immediately. Good times!

      Perfect Location

Left on 09/13/2011 for a stay in September 2011

This apartment is tucked behind an iron gateway on a cobblestone path, immediately off the main shopping street in Saugatuck. Perfect for walking everywhere. We found it spacious, clean and the decor was upscale and inviting. We couldn't resist the deck off the gathering area - so relaxing! Fixing a few minor details (such as missing cabinet knobs, an iron but no ironing board, and no shampoo) would make it much closer to perfect. Our foursome really enjoyed the time we spent and would definitely consider staying again.

      Just OK!

Left on 07/24/2011 for a stay in July 2011

The apartment is quite nice, a good value, and has a lot of potential but needs some attention to detail to make the guest’s stay more enjoyable and the website needs to be more accurate in its information. The location is amazing and could not be better with one exception to be addressed below. It was very clean and furnished nicely but very few pictures on the walls.
The carpet in the stairwell is badly soiled and that is your first impression upon entering. There was no bathroom soap/shampoo which the owner said was stated on the website but we could not find it. We were aware there was not daily housekeeping which was no big deal. The rest of the suites are in conjunction with an aveda spa and there is an aveda boutique downstairs. You would think by providing a small sample you could easily generate sales, can’t imagine aveda would not provide these?
The website also clearly states that that apartment a has a 12’ x 30’ deck with patio furniture but in fact it belongs to the other apartment. Another frustration was no information about how to get on the internet (which worked sporadically at best), how to work the TV, or how to work the a/C. We woke up at 4 am only to find the thermostat was programmed for 77 degrees! These might seem like little things but your guests rightfully expect to have access to such information.
The biggest problem, however, was the unbelievably loud music from the bar next door. We were told the music is supposed to stop at midnight but it was well after 2 am before the music stopped and the noise from the patrons continued even longer, so if you stay here Friday to Sunday…Beware! Even with ear plugs you don’t stand a chance to drown it out! I will state that this only affects one of the bedrooms.
We so looked forward to this place and we rent apartments all over the world but this one did not quite meet our expectations, some of the problems were out of the owner’s control, but others that could be easily corrected by the owner. Unfortunately, had we known these issues we would not have rented this apartment, I would suggest the suites at the spa over the apartments.
