After our Labor Day weekend Wedding in Holland, mi, we were in search of a spot where we can unwind, relax and just enjoy each others company for a simple honeymoon. This home was the absolute perfect spot for us to do just that. Our 100 lb coonhound Simon joined us for the occasion! It is quite small, but perfect for what we were looking for, a romantic get-a-way for two. Families won't fit in this 1 bedroom home. The screened in porch is where we drank our morning coffee, and quietly read a book late in the afternoon. It was our favorite spot. Only negatives I should talk about was that they had ants, and the hard wood floors where dusty, leaving my socks very dirty, and had me wearing flip flops in the house the whole time. But linens and towels were very clean, no probs. It is truly walking distance to downtown Saugatuck, and a very short 7 min drive to Oval Beach, Douglas Beach, Mt Baldhead, and Dune Rides. Since our stay was after Labor day and considered "off season"... downtown was quiet, with only a few visitors roaming the streets, so dinner reservations were easily made, no lines for ice cream, and we just about had the beach to ourselves. One more thing, we are quite the foodies and searched for the best restaurant around. #1 dinner spot... Every Day People in Douglas, 5 min drive, delish! We will certainly return to this adorable, perfectly located spot for our anniversaries! Read more

This cottage was an awesome spot for a work retreat. Easy work to town. A huge screened in porch which we used as our meeting center. Quite neighborhood. Cottage was well decorated and very clean. Pull out bed could use a matrices foam or a new matrices. We used our queen blow up bed instead. A short distance to the beach in which we rented bikes to ride to in Douglas. Love the Brunch at the Everyday Café in Douglas. Bloody Mary Bar awesome! We are planning our retreat for next year here again. Read more

This was our fourth time vacationing in Saugatuck, but our first time staying in Morning Glory. The cottage is small in size (3 people max) but very inviting, and for myself and my two daughters it was exactly the kind of cozy, relaxing vacation home we were looking for. The highlight of the cottage for me was the lovely screened-in porch to the side of the house... very nicely decorated with comfortable wicker furniture and easy access to the garden/grill etc. Another plus was the iPod docking station and DVD player. Fyi - you can find a video rental kiosk at the nearby grocery store in Douglas.
If you find the need to do laundry, there's a brand new washer and dryer in the bathroom. No oven, but the toaster-oven and gas stovetop cooker, plus outdoor gas grill allowed us to cook full meals in the small but well-appointed kitchen. Mg has almost every kitchen utensil, but was short on serving bowls. The only real complaint I have about the cottage is the lack of storage space for clothes. There is one two-drawer dresser in the bedroom but very little space in the closet for hanging clothes... most of it was being used for linen storage, so we pretty much lived out of our suitcases for the week. This was fine, but at the (high) price for vacation rentals in Saugatuck this should not really be an issue.
All in all I would highly recommend this lovely cottage to come home to after a day spent at the beach, shops or art galleries or any of the great amenities Saugatuck and Douglas have to offer.
