London, KYA Great Place to Vacation
Left on 05/01/2013 for a stay in April 2013
My husband and I stayed here for our 30th anniversary. The home is beautiful and has all the amenities. Situated in Savaneta away from the tourist traffic, the home is nevertheless conveniently located near fine dining as well as more casual restaurants such as Zeerover's. We found the neighborhood safe, and the patio steps actually go down into the water where we could literally walk off the porch and take a quick swim if we didn't want to go to the beach.
We appreciated the open dining, kitchen, and living area, and the high ceilings and ceiling fans facilitated the ocean breezes, or we could enjoy the air conditioning. The bedrooms are also spacious and nicely appointed for beach living. The back porch made a wonderful place to work on my laptop, read a good book, doze, or simply watch the ocean vessels in the distance.
One thing I appreciated greatly is that the water is heated by the sun, making the home environment-friendly. Stores are close by, and the central location made it easy to drive to other sites on the island, whether beaches or other island points of interest. If you like a little privacy and want to avoid the tourist crush, this is the place for you. We plan to return as soon as possible! No complaints and no worries during the entire week, just a home away from home in aruba.

My husband and I just got back from a wonderful vacation in aruba. We found this home very comfortable to reside in, the views of the ocean were beyond beautiful, we felt "part of the island" as we stayed away from all the high rises and touristy areas. The bedrooms were really big and spacious as were the bathrooms, the home is nicely decorated in blues and whites like the sand and ocean. The kitchen was complete so we did not have to eat outas much. However, the nearby restaurants were outstanding, some the the best on the island. We were made aware from the owner of weatherized water/showers. This did not bother my husband and I, the cool/warm showeres felt great after a day at the beach. We really enjoyed renting a car and driving all over the island, the owner gave a great detailed description of the arubian lifestyle and beach living. We felt very safe, slept well, and enjoyed watching the iguanas walking around the backyard.

Washington DC, District of ColumbiaPoorly maintained home
Left on 01/22/2013 for a stay in December 2012
The house is beautifully situated on the ocean, and the outside is pretty--and that is where the good stuff ends. We paid premium price ($370/day) for Christmas week, and ended up being charged an additional $200 for water and electricity by an owner who seems to think this is nothing but a money-making scheme. What was covered by the $370, I wonder. Certainly not a well-maintained inside: owner's medicine left in the fridge, chunks of plaster falling off the walls, a boarded-up broken window, toothpaste spit on the bathroom mirror, main TV not working. Also there was no local telephone or internet service provided with the house. Topping the list is the lack of hot water, which the owner didn't tell us until 1 week before we left (and all money had already been paid to him). He said we would have a "comfortable" shower - for five of us staying there, we had only cold showers. Also, when we first got there, the aC unit in the MBR didn't work. We had to wait until 7 pm for a tech to fix it. However, the tech couldn't fix the controls for the aC in the main room and thus that aC ran on high the entire time we were there (given the elec. price in aruba, we turned down other units when we were gone during the day) - and the owner refused to credit us with the elec. that used. When I asked the owner for elec. credit because his aC malfunctioned, he never replied. I would never stay there again unless the house had a different owner. Renter beware!

Westfield, Mass.Beautiful home right on the sea.
Left on 12/06/2011 for a stay in November 2011
Just returned from Savaneta, I stayed in this beautiful home for the month of Nov. 2011. Close to all grocery stores, restaruants, and bars. I really enjoy Zeerover, right down the St., in walking distance, or floating down in the sea. You could watch the locals bring in the freshest catch of the day, the enjoy it for your dinner. Delicious colds balashi's were also enjoyed.
I was able to entertain, with my old friends form the area, plus meeting new ones. The kitchen had all the amenities you could possible need. The master bedroom, looked right out to the sea. Sunsets were stunning, every evening around 6:30. There was no need to leave this area, everything was right at your fingertips. -

Left on 03/14/2011 for a stay in December 2010
My wife and I stayed at this house for 2 weeks over Christmas and we loved it. In the morning we would go straight from bed to the ocean for a refreshing morning dive. The ocean is only 15 steps from the backdoor. After the dive we would have breakfast on the back porch with the most amazing view you have ever seen (sometimes we could see Venezuela in the distance). This view only got better late in the afternoon by sunset, from this house you have everyday the most amazing sunset, and the best part is that it is all private. You sit on the back deck and enjoy a cold Balashi beer and enjoy the sun set. In one word WOW!!
The house has 2 bedrooms and we used the master that has huge sliding doors that open up almost IN the ocean. In the day time when we went for a nap we had the doors open and let the breeze enter the bedroom. This was truly heaven to be able to do that.
The house is very nice and clean, the kitchen has everything you need and is spacious. The living room has fans and a flat screen TV for those nights that you just want to do nothing.
The house is in Savaneta and a couple of doors down are 3 amazing restaurants. One is the Flying fishbone and another is the old man and the sea, but where we had the most fun was a place called Zeerovers. This is a local hangout and marine where you meet locals and eat fresh fish. You see the fisherman bring the fish in, somebody cleans it and somebody else cooks it right away. Fresher is NOT possible and the prices where CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. We went there at least 5 times during our 2 week stay.
For fast food we found Subwayacroos from it and Domino's delivered right to our house. A super market was also very close by as well as a gas station. But the thing closest to us was the ocean haha.
