First let me say that the inside pictures posted do adequately represent the property however none of the outside pictures do!! The entire property is over grown. Once you park your vehicle off the "lane" aka alley next to a half a dozen trash cans your greeted by an overgrown grass and dirt parking space. After you retrieve your key from the lock box you have to jimmy your way into the gate pushing and pulling making sure you line it up just right in order to lock/unlock it. This is a wonderful experience when it's raining and your trying to get you and a dog through. Once you finally get through the gate you have to start the whole process again to shut and lock it! I appreciate the gate it made me feel safe in a not so safe area but I did fell nervous for my poor Lexus that was there alone in the alley. Once through the gate your trip to the jungle I mean courtyard starts. There are over grown bushes, trees and spider webs that you get to fight through to get to the steps of the suite. Once you get to the steps you then only have to fight off one last huge saw grass bush. Caution these cut! Finally through ,your greeted by a beautiful decorated room. That is until you breath in and smell cat urine. A sticker on the door said there are 10 cats in one apartment on the premises and the smell comes through the fireplace. Which, is magnified by the 78 degree temperature the landlord keeps the house on during humid rainy august summer days. But no worries. She'll bring you two bottles of Febreze and four or so Renuits to place on the vents. Lastly, be careful exiting the steps!! On our last day I cut my arm open on a rusty hinge that was sticking out of the window seal while trying to avoid cutting my legs on the over grown saw grass that comes over the porch onto the stairs. When notifying the owner we didn't get an apology, what can we do to fix it, anything but the response of I'll get it taken care of. Nice. Next time we are staying in a hotel!

Really refreshed and settled in at the Barnard - most private, yet centrally located with easy access to primary Savannah streets. The bathroom is the best, a whole living experience in itself. Walk-in kitchen most complete, excepting a tea kettle for such like us who prefer this option. Bed made for deep sleep, and room for spreading out, dressing, etc. Entryway/garden a lovely passageway. We delighted in Fiona's down the road. Susan was very helpful with a question even tho they were out enjoying a meal when we phoned. Recommend!

Nothing about the unit we did not like. We're "walkers" so the location was fine, although at night it seemed like a long way back, and the street lighting wasn't great. Bikes would work better.
Kitchen/living room was quite small; bedroom was a nice size; the bathroom was huge.
All in all, a good value.
What a beautiful place to stay!

My husband and I absolutely loved this charming little suite! Christopher and Susan have made this space elegant yet cozy--a perfect place for guests. We enjoyed that the suite had a kitchenette, which was perfect for preparing a little breakfast before we went out for the day. Christopher came over to welcome us and offered us a bike to get around town. If we were to visit Savannah again, we would absolutely stay here!

This was a very nice, clean, place to stay with everything you need. Large bedroom with plenty of space, living room, cable tv, movies to watch, beautiful bath, and small kitchen space. Loved the courtyard for our two small pups. Close to downtown, though a long walk and probably not safest @ night through some parts. That would be only reason not five stars. Owners live in other part of house and are very friendly and helpful. Had a great time visiting Savannah staying here. Definately consider staying here.
Charming little apartment perfect for a couples getaway.

My husband and I absolutely loved staying here. Beautiful apartment. Great location. Super affordable! We especially loved the book of restaurants the owners had.put together for everyone to look at with their own handwritten reviews and food suggestions of the restaurants. We will definately stay here again on our next trip to Savannah!

I wanted so desperately to rank this with 5 Stars... The room itself was clean and truly charming. Chris was a very helpful host and the location was decent enough. It was a we bit further from downtown than I had thought but I kind of liked that and the cab ride was a minimal $6 if we didn't feel like walking. My only real complaint was that the entire room smelled like cat. I understood this was a pet friendly hotel, but I guess I just didn't expect to smell them when I didn't have one with me. all in all is was a lovely trip. Thank you.

We had an amazing stay in the Barnard apple Suite during our vacation in Savannah. I cannot rave enough about how much we loved this. A place like this is so wonderful because it allowed us to take our two large dogs with us on vacation. The little yard was nice for us to enjoy with the doggies. The neighborhood was nice for walking and the people were so friendly.
The suite itself was beautifully appointed. I loved the bathroom. It was so large and gorgeous. Lavender infused shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided. Little things like the soft throw on the sofa and plenty of pillows on the bed were such nice touches. There's a tv and dvd player with movies in the drawer.
We love to walk so walking to downtown was no problem but if we wanted to drive there was ample, cheap parking all over Savannah. This place is also only a couple of blocks from Elizabeth's on 37th which is where we went for our spectacular anniversary dinner.
This place was so nice to come back to after a long day out on foot. We can't wait to return to Savannah and when we do, we'll definitely stay here again.

My best friend and I were in town celebrating her birthday... And what a week it was. The location of the rental is perfect; easy access to downtown, freeways, and of course Tybee Island. The price allowed us to do a little extra shopping at some of the wonderful boutiques in town. I will gladly rent from Christopher and Susan for all adventures that I may have in the beautiful town of Savannah.
Long relaxing weekend in Savannah!

Just wanted to say what a great place this was. We stayed during the St. Patrick's Day week, and unlike most other places, the Mosses did not double their prices. It was quiet and confortable and charming. We could not have asked for more. My husband and I were also celebrating our anniversary, and there was a nice bottle of wine waiting for us on the counter.I would highly recommend this rental if you are visiting Savannah. (Note:It would be great for cycling or if you have a vehicle. But a little far for walking if you like going to River St. and the City Market.)

We had a good time experiencing Savannah for the first time. The suite where we stayed was good for a short period of time. Huge vintage bathroom with nice double sinks, but you need to be limber to step in/out of the clawfoot tub. It was a little difficult eating as the table was small & the kitchen is minimal. (you are supposed to eat out as the restaurants were great!) Esp. Enjoyed Huey's on the riverfront. Also, The Mansion on Forsyth was good for a light bite on the upper floor. Great to stay at a place that allows pets! Nice adventure. Architecture beautiful!
Exceeded my expectations

This apartment was very nice for the two of us and our dog. The entire city is very pet friendly, and here at the Barnard Suit our girl had the run of the apartment, a fenced in yard, and even extra dog bowls under the sink.
Christopher and Susan were very helpful and accommodating, giving suggestions for food, activities, and generally making us feel welcomed. The wine and coffee they provided was wonderful.
Be advised that the kitchenette is just that-a kitchenette. The fridge is full sized, and there is also a deluxe toaster oven, and a small coffeemaker. We ate breakfast in the apartment each day, and kept it to items easily prepared like cold cereal. yogurt and fruit. The bed was a bit soft for our taste, but that is a very individual thing. There was an abundance of linens, soap, and toilet paper provided.
The location is good, just outside of what most would consider the downtown area. It is definitely walkable to Forsyth Park and beyond, although you may want to drive a bit closer dependent upon how far north in the city you plan to walk. Certainly worth it to spend a bit less money and walk more (IMO). The house is in a transitional neighborhood with lots of property for sale, including beautiful expensive homes, and downtrodden homes that need work. Worth the investment for a visit to Savannah, and we will be returning when we visit the city again.

We went to Savannah to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Everything was clean and exactly what we were promised we were given. It was adorable and perfect when we were busy all day and when we were cuddled up at night. We stayed 3 nights and the first night the suit was really hot so we called the owner and by the time we came back that evening it was cool and comfy. It was great service and they were eager to help make our stay memorable. The only thing I could say that was not perfect was the location was wonderful as far as distance to the sites but a little rough as far as the close surrounding area. That being said I never felt unsafe and I would absolutely stay again.

We loved the Barnard apple Suite. It was beautiful and had all the comforts of home. The location was perfect, just minutes from the historic district. We even had our own little yard to let the dogs out or have a meal outside. The suite was filled with literature on places to go and things to see. We will definitely be back next time we are in Savannah.

My boyfriend and I absolutely love this place. Its perfect for two people wanting to relax. Even though we are connected to other parts of this house we felt very separated and secluded. We were within walking distance to anything we needed or wanted. The people who own it are just great! Always super friendly and even allowed us to check in early which was great after a 13 hour car ride :o). Also, the bathroom is to die for!

A little off the beaten path, in what seems to be an upcoming historic neighborhood, is this nice guest apartment. It was quiet, comfortable, the interior design is fabulous. You will have a little farther to walk than if you stayed right downtown, but more exercise is better for most people anyways, right? Overall, we loved it and would most likely stay there again if we come back to Savannah.

Me and mt wife were coming to town for a weekend retreat and we have stayed at several B&B's in the city before but we figured we would save some money this time and we would just get a normal hotel we were just about to book at the Hampton inn and suits when i ran across the listing for the Barnard Apple Suite It looked cute and the price was well below that of the Hampton so we decided to give it a try. Let me tell you when we arrived we were blown away at how nice this apt. was It is spacious and well decorated it is very Quiet and the owners are very nice. Well I hope this helps you figure out where to stay I know me and my wife will be back hopfuly many times.
Sweet Savannah Suite

My husband and I spent a lovely three nights in the Apple Suite this spring. It was exactly what we were looking for--someplace in the historic district but not in the middle of the tourist strip, within our budget, and beautiful. Every detail has been thought of, from a great selection of books, magazines, movies, and recommendations to local eats, to organic toiletries and coffee supplies. And the bed was more comfortable than many hotels we've stayed in.
I love staying in bed and breakfast places, but sometimes you want the privacy and quiet of a place all to yourself. The kitchenette allowed us to store leftovers, chill wine, and not feel the need to eat out for every meal.
My only reservation recommending this place is that if it becomes too popular then the next time I'm in Savannah the suite will be booked. But truly, travel dollars can go to worthy local endeavors like Moss Vacations and have a more positive impact on the community than giving money to the large hotel chains (where most of the money ends up lining pockets outside Georgia).

Charming suite, plenty of space for two adults (and a dog). Loved the decor as well as the color scheme and highly appreciated the eco- and pet-friendly aspects. The fenced-in yard has potential to become an oasis once it's finished. Location was good, Forsyth Park (and Sentient Bean which serves great coffee) is within walking distance and even downtown for keen walkers (my spouse and I explored the city a lot on foot). A (portable) one- or two-burner stove could be a nice addition to the kitchenette.

The Organic Vacation Suite is just perfect for a short or long-term stay in Savannah. It's a beautiful space that's tastefully decorated, and it's outfitted with everything you need. The location is ideal -- just a short drive from downtown and minutes from the freeway. An unassuming but pretty neighborhood. And the proprietors are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here!

This apartment was great! Very clean, open-feeling,
LOVE the clawfoot tub, free wireless internet, spices
and what not to use in the kitchen, LOTS of DVDs
there for you to watch if you want. Not as close to
downtown as I would have liked but it's affordability
makes up for it, as do the bikes they provide for
guests. There is a little pizza joint with outdoor
seating a couple of blocks away, too.
A Charming Place to Stay!

Service: Excellent! The owners had to travel unexpectedly but they were more than accomodating to our phone calls asking for recommendations of local amenities.
The Home: Lovely! The bed was comfortable, a great selection of movies and reading material, very clean, huge bathroom, loved the organic products throughout! It was nice to have two bicycles available to ride to Forsythe Park.
Location: Outside the historic district, but for the price offered it was a great place to stay! We prefer to stay away from the tourist heavy areas and this was just the right spot. The wait for a cab is a bit long, but we were able to drive to the historic district and park with no problems. We did not experience any concerns for safety or security in this neighborhood.
We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends!

My wife and I were blown away by how good looking this place was. It's small, but perfect for two people and a dog. The yard was great for the pup and it was perfect for us. The only way we could have saved any money was to stay at a shitty motel6.
The owner was amazingly friendly and always quick to respond to phone and email. It was very private and quiet. It's in the historic area of Savannah away from all the SCAD kids, but a quick drive from downtown/River St.
I recommend staying if you don't need a lot of space.
