Welcome to ‘The Roost’ - a Signature Busy Bee Cottage!

On one of Savannah’s most historic streets, ‘The Roost’ is a quiet retreat filled with eclectic artwork and furniture from the owner’s travels. ‘The Roost joined our group of Savannah vacation rentals in January of 2013 and is the newest in the bunch.

'The Roost' offers one bedroom, sleeps 2 in beds and can sleep a total of 4 inclusive of our Sleeper Sofa in the Living Room.

There is ample on s...treet, meter-free parking right in front of the cottage.

'The Roost' offers a covered front porch with a portable picnic table for picnics in nearby Forsyth Park.

Stroll with your four-legged friends in Forsyth Park, dine al fresco at one of Savannah's pet-friendly restaurants (Leoci's or Clary's to name a couple) or meander through the lovely squares to the downtown dog park. We'll even supply pet biscuits!

Eclectic artwork and artifacts from the owner’s world travels dot the cottage. Walk into ‘The Roost’ and see the vintage typewriter and accountant’s desk along with Zapatista paintings and prints from Nashville’s Hee Haw Press. The art lover is sure to enjoy this cottage!

Along with being a world traveler, the owner is also an avid yogi. ‘The Roost’ comes equipped with a yoga mat and accessories for your practice. You will love doing yoga in the light-filled master bedroom.

The sunny Great Room opens into the Kitchen complete with a breakfast table that can seat 4.

The modern kitchen is fully stocked with all of your needs.

You will find everything from cutting boards, a blender, a garlic press, & a spice rack - if you need something specific please ask and we will see what we can do!

Additional Location Information

The Roost is located centrally in Historic Downtown Savannah's Victorian District near the famous Forsyth Park and many community attractions, restaurants, and coffee houses.

Habersham Street has a bike lane -- which is nice. You can check out the Savannah Bicycle Campaign for our bike maps in the city.

If you are sans car, you are three blocks East of Forsyth Park and 3 blocks South of the local Kroger.

The Sentient Bean (local coffee), Local 1110 (fancy restaurant), the American Legion (great bar and restaurant called Betty Bombers), and other places are a few blocks away.

  My wife and I decided to do a staycation in downtown Savannah. We liked this cottage because it is pet friendly and a short pedal cab ride to some great restaurants. The courtyard is fenced with a nice deck to sit on and watch the dog run around. The place was clean, quiet and comfy. Would definitely rent it again.

  Small but Great Cottage

  This is a great little place in a very convenient part of the Historic District of Savannah. Having never been to the city and starting my search for a place to stay for the weekend much too late, I was lucky to find such a great place. It's situated on a quiet, one-way street, with parking in an alley in the back, and is minutes away from whatever you'd want to walk to as a tourist. There are two small living/sitting rooms, a kitchen, dining room, two bedrooms, and two baths (one good size and one small). We slept four comfortably but it's not recommended for a group unless it's couples or very close friends. There's a great shaded sitting area in the back and a larger fenced in yard beyond that. This is a great place if you don't need much space and if you don't want to stay in a hotel. The agency was a pleasure to deal with and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome, offering recommendations and to make reservations if we would like. Definitely recommended.

  Some friends and I were in town for the scad baseball parent weekend at the same time 23,000 marathon runners were also in town. That actually turned out to be a good thing as, with the hotels completely booked, I came across the Savannah Sea Maiden. It was perfect in every way - comfort, location, cleanliness, roominess. I hope to stay here every time I'm in Savannah now. Thanks, Laurie, for creating such a wonderful place to stay right in the heart of Savannah!
