such a warm way to experience Savannah

Left on 04/05/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We actually stayed in the Hayden Suite, which is a 2 bedroom apartment in the main house. The Hayden Suite is not available for further booking, but the Carriage House condo and a 1 bedroom apt in the main house are available and all a part of the same property. The Drescher's own, operate, and live on the property as well. They are very hospitable and, although I felt a little uncomfortable at first, made me feel very welcome in their home from the moment that I arrived. My daughter and I came to Savannah, for the first time, to attend scad day and the accomodations were a wonderful way to appreciate everything that Savannah has to offer. You can get anywhere, without your car, if you choose to. It's very convenient and I am sure that we will be in touch with the Drescher's for future visits as we prepare for our attendance to scad. Thank you, Joe and Judene, for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home and providing so much helpful information that we utilized, including the Hearse tour :)

A cozy, romantic getaway at the Carraige House

Left on 07/11/2012 for a stay in July 2012

My husband and I stayed here for three days. The accommodations were comfortable and quaint. There were lots of nice perks, such as filtered water already chilled in the refrigerator, fresh ground coffee, a compote of fresh fruit on the kitchen table, fresh flowers in the sitting area and on the beside table and a place to park the car. The owners were friendly and helpful. When we arrived, they had a map of the historic district with highlights of places they particularly enjoyed or that were of special interest. They were well versed in local history, which was interesting! The area was quiet. The courtyard garden viewed from the balcony was lovely. This was the perfect "home base" for our visit to historic Savannah. Located on the edge of Forsyth Park, most of what we wanted to visit was within walking distance. Staying here, with a sitting room, eat-in kitchen, bedroom and bath, was much homier than staying in a hotel and we had the advantage of living like the locals. We would choose to stay here again if we revisit the area.

From our own experience, we understand how quickly our responsibilities and obligations take over when we return from a vacation. We appreciate guests taking the the time to write a review and to be so specific about what they found pleasing about our accommodations. This guest brings attention to some of the details that give us the greatest pleasure, as well , when we are preparing the rooms with the intention that guests will have the experience (if only for a few days ) of Savannah being their home.

Southern charm and hospitality at its best

Left on 04/03/2011 for a stay in June 2008

Staying at J & J's Bed and Breakfast was such a treat for me. I was able to experience first hand southern charm and hospitality at its very best. The location is central to historic parks, museums, fine dining and shopping. The owners are very knowledgeable about the beautiful city of Savannah and what she has to offer her visitors. It was a wonderful and delightful stay.

Favorite place to stay in Savannah

Left on 02/16/2011 for a stay in January 2011

This is the best place to stay in Savannah. I travel extensively for work and pleasure and have tried many places around town but always wish I had booked with Joe and Judean. Their suites are beautifully appointed, perfectly clean and ultra-comfortable. They have created a quiet oasis in the heart of the food/art/entertainment scene in the historic district. So you can retreat to pure comfort and then step out on the town for a great time. My husband and I have stayed here at least a dozen times in the last few years.

Family members gathering and enjoying each other's company in our home, is one of the most rewarding aspects of our guest accommodations. As one of these guests was named Dixie, this is the ultimate compliment.

      "A Jewel in Savannah"

Left on 02/12/2011 for a stay in April 2009

My husband and I have stayed at many bed and breakfasts during our travels. Without question, this beautiful, historic home operated by friendly and courteous (yet unobtrusive) owners is one of the best and our personal favorite. Ideally located adjacent to beautiful Forsyth Park and its fountain, guests will find shops, restaurants and the historic district all within a short walk. If you love antiques, this is your place. We definitely give this B & B five stars and plan to visit again soon.

A lot of history, lot of fun, lot of comfort!

Left on 02/10/2011 for a stay in June 2008

I have stayed in Judean and Joe's home several times. When I think of southern comfort and charm I think of their home. It is tastefully decorated in antiques and little displays reminiscent of an older time in Savannah. You can walk to all the historic sites in downtown Savannah and never have to worry about parking. It is right across the street from beautiful Forsythe Park. Everything is well maintained and clean. Joe and Judean treat you like pampered guests. Enjoy your stay with them. I always do.
