Broken Arrow, OKCouldn't have asked for more, and great for kids!
Left on 08/19/2010 for a stay in August 2010
My wife and I have been intrigued by Savannah for years and when we decided early this year to make the trip we knew we had to find accommodations in the Historic District. It would be the two of us and our 3 children, ages 4, 6 & 8. After weighing a dozen or so listings from SavannahGetaways.net this one came out on top. The house is wonderfully located near Forsyth and several squares. Private off-street parking was a blessing. The whole of the historic district is within walking distance. Islands Expy is right around the corner and you can be on the Tybee beaches 30 minutes after starting your car. For extended stays a Kroger grocery store is, again, only 5 min away.
We chose this particular house for the 3rd floor bedroom that would perfectly suit our children, the full kitchen, and parking. We knew the location was good, but not how good until we actually got there and could understand the scale of the area and its surroundings. The kitchen has everything you could need was already there: dishes, silverware, glasses. The only potential problem is the spiral stairs leading to the 3rd floor bedroom; the stairs are steep and tight and would be difficult for beginning walkers or people with physical limitations. However, a gate is provided for the top it desired and we had no incidents at all with the spiral stairs. Also off the MBR is a larger utility closet with a washer & dryer, yet another unbeatable convenience. Wireless high-speed internet is provided, with a large desk in the kitchen/dining area.
The house is nicely renovated but very comfortable; we felt "at home" rather than in a showpiece. The area was quiet, and it was all to easy to close your eyes and feel like a Savannahian rather than a visitor. We're already planning our return trip, probably longer and hopefully next year, and in all likelihood we'll plan it around the availability of this house. I can't imagine staying anywhere else! -

Hesitant of what we might find, our small family of two seniors and two big mutts nonetheless took a chance on this rental.
What a pleasant surprise! We found this charming townhouse to be very clean, stocked with every possible amenity, and perfectly located.
The fenced backyard was perfect for a safe game of fetch with the pooches, and dog friendly walking parks were less than two blocks in every direction.
The kitchen made meals home a dream, and the office - with its wireless router and printer - made it easy to find and print directions to all of Savannah's great restaurants and attractions.
Would recommend highly. Thanks!

Morristown, TNWonderful House!
Left on 10/16/2009 for a stay in September 2009
We really enjoyed the house. The back porch and patio was so inviting and was a great place to read and drink your coffee in the morning. Everything that we needed was in the house. The high speed internet made it easy to keep up with family and friends.
The location was wonderful...walked to most places. Will definitely stay in this house again. It was great to be able to take the furry ones so they weren't home alone for an extended period. -

Houghton, Michigan (the Upper Peninsula of Michigan)Would rent a houjse over a hotel room any day!!!

Renting a house is the way to go! We wanted ample space for four adults, my husband and I and our 21 year old son and 19 year old daughter. We were in Savannah for a family wedding and wanted to stay for a week to sight see but also wanted privacy and plenty of space for four people. The loft on the third floor was perfect for kids! They loved having their own space, and the entire second floor master suite was a luxury! It was great to have cable,a kitchen for smaller meals and snacks, and the washer and dryer were a bonus! Everything worked great in the home, the air conditioning was a must, and it was nice to relax at night in the living room and watch t.v. or visit. The home (on Taylor Street) came entirely equipped, pots and pans, linens, kitchen supplies. The backyard had a nice covered porch with a sitting area and overhead fan, and the landscaping was nicely kept up. The area was very quiet, not a lot of daytime activity, and nighttime was extremely quiet. It was a SUPER BONUS to have two parking spots assigned in the back alley, that worked out great!
The only downside was that it wasn't quite close enough to the downtown area to walk to and browse around (although you can walk but a little bit of a distanced). I see the owners of the house used to have bikes available, but unfortunately they kept getting stolen (probably downtown and not locked up), so they no longer provide those. That would have been great to have available and we would have really done some sightseeing on them! But we truly understand the reason why they no longer provide this service.
The house had a bookshelf full of great books of the local area, and in fact we ordered one when we returned home, "Behind the Moss Curtain -and other Savannah stories.
We spent an enjoyable week in Savannah, three trips out to Tybee Island to enjoy beach, enjoyed the food and restaurants, loved walking down along River Street, and all the other Historic Sites.

This is the second time my daughter and I have rented this property, it was so wonderful the first time we had to rent it again! Savannah Getaways was so easy to wlrk with and they gave us a discount for being a second timer, we will book it again around the same time of the year in 2010. The house was clean, well kept and my daughter and I tried to respect it as it was our own!.
