Great space...quiet, off-street parking and within walking distance to just about everything. All the conveniences of home and a great management staff! Nice to have a kitchen and washing machine. No dining room table but that was ok...also no instructions on using the various remote controls for the television. Loved the openness of the space and the natural light. Not a good choice for people with disabilities due to the stairs and probably not enough space for a family. But if you are a couple or a single this is a wonderful flat!

Left on 03/12/2013 for a stay in November 2012
My husband and I stayed here for the Rock 'n Roll 1/2 Marathon November 2nd - 5th, 2012. It was located mid-way between the race starting line (by the waterfront) and the finishing line (in Forsyth Park). It is also in a great location for walking within the historic district and we always felt safe. The condo itself was beautiful with outstanding furnishings/decorations and very clean. We also appreciated the tips regarding the owner's favorite restaurants. There are several local restaurants right on Liberty Street, and also a Mellow Mushroom just a couple blocks away (although this is a chain restaurant it was actually perfect for a pizza and a beer after the race!) We really ejoyed our time in Savannah and will be returning in March 2013. The only reason we are not staying at this property again is because this time we are bringing our dog, so had to choose another property (with Savannah Getaways) that was pet friendly.

We are very satisfied, repeat customers of Savannah Getaways and have returned to this condo on several occasions due to its central location. We were pleasantly surprised to find it completely redecorated with a renovated bathroom. The new decor and ammenities made an already amazing property that much more enjoyable for our stay. Off-street parking and security are other pluses for this unit. Both Savannah Getaways and this property are highly recommended for anyone traveling to Savannah!

Livermore, Calif.Superb location, decor, and amenities
Left on 05/25/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Savannah itself is so steeped in history that having a truly historic apartment to return to is the icing on the cake. All of us, including our 4-year-old, had a great time walking to the numerous nearby attractions. (Though there's reserved parking for a car as well). The actual block is so-so, with a graffiti-covered commercial building next door, but within a couple blocks are Pulaski Square, The Distillery (an excellent place for a craft beer and a burger), and the railroad museum. Fifteen minutes walk will get you almost anywhere in the historic district, including the colonial cemetery, Forsyth Park, etc., etc., etc. The downtown shuttle runs every twenty minutes from practically right in front of the house.
The interior is furnished with a variety of fascinating local decor, including a poster from the long-gone Georgia Central Railroad, a Noaa depth map for navigating a boat in nearby waterways, and many books about the Civil War. The high ceilings, stone walls, and gorgeous molding throughout really make you feel like you're in another era.
Having en suite laundry is very handy, and there's lots of closet and dresser space. A word must be said about the shower, which is not up to the standard of the rest of the house, nor, even to the standard of any cruise ship I've been on. Otherwise the bath area is nice. The kitchen, though small, is stylish and equipped with everything you'll need, including a cocktail shaker, appropriate for the city in which a proper greeting is, "What are you drinking?" The whole apartment is soaked in sunlight from the floor to ceiling windows (be sure to use the shutters, especially on the windows facing the street or the back of the house, where the stairs are). The neighbors are quiet. Honestly, this was a superb value, and I'd love to come back again.

Left on 04/12/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We loved staying at this gorgeous apartment with the amenities of home. This was our first vacation rental and it has turned us into fans! The house was in the nice, laid-back part of the historic district - I think it is called the Victorian District - everything was easily walkable from there. We loved having the kitchen to make breakfast every morning and the availability of a washer/dryer (though we did not use it). The king-size bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels and linens. The only reason why we did not give this place 5 stars is because the shower stall is a tiny square, and the showerhead is positioned straight down on you, so you are never able to get out from under the stream of water. It was awkward figuring out how to soap up. However, in the whole scheme of things, I would consider this a minor flaw and would stay here again if I am ever in town!

This property is actually located in the Landmark Historic District on Liberty Street. The Victorian District is located on the southern side of Forsyth Park which is located in the back of the historic district.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was beautiful and the location was fabulous. So nice to have a reserved parking space just steps from the door. Our only minor complaint was we didn't like the shower. The shower stall was small and the shower head was not adjustable and hard to get out of the water when showering...but that would not keep us from staying here again...whether you select this property or another, Savannah Getaways was so easy to work with from start to finish and we will definitely book with them again!

Very lovely rental. Very historic with very thought out updates. Was not overly updated, just enough! Everything about the home was wonderful. Loved the kitchen. Beautiful decor, big comfy bed, very cozy living room. My only complaint is it would have topped off everything if the fireplace would have worked. But, that's not enough to keep me away. We are already planning second trip. Maybe it will work next time.

The gas logs are turned on for our guest's use once we hit the "colder" months in the fall and winter as a rule. This was not the case in late September/early October as temperatures are still typically warmer and summer like as was the case this year. Make us aware for next year and will see it is turned on if coming during a warm spell.

Rental information was provided quickly. Deposit return was prompt. The apartment was wonderful..very comfortable. and everything we needed was provided. Took me awhile to find the stool in kitchen, which was necessary to reach top cabinets. It was appreciated greatly. Loved the hints from former guests and information about restaurants. Parkers Market is pricy but fun. Felt safe in neighborhood, but one night some people who were feeling a little too happy seemed to hang around for a while, and were rather loud.

Left on 12/02/2010 for a stay in November 2010
We rented a three room condo for four nights. The three rooms were very spacious compared to places we have stayed in the past. The condo had everything we needed and decorated appropriately (not afraid to move around in the apartment, not afraid of breaking something or moving something out of place). Bed was large and comfortable (did not feel used/ old).
We like to walk to places and we found the location of the condo in the historic district of Savannah ideal. Plus the free bus service the city provides has a stop just down the block from the apartment. Close to restaurants, nice coffee shops, Scag, and museum. Great architecture and color of the city, plus the various squares all w/ in walking distance, just outside the door.
I would have liked a decent radio (possibly w/ cd player) in the condo. Only source of music we had was the music stations on the tv's...for that setting a radio would have been ideal for sitting, reading, etc. -

We still find ourselves daydreaming of our time in Savannah. We had to double check the room number after we arrived... what a beautiful room! I don't think I'll be able to stay in an other generic hotel again after this. I can sum up our vacation with this: In three days we didn't turn on the TV once.

We had a great time and were pleased with the property we stayed. We only had 2 minor issues with the condo the entire time we stayed there. The shower was a little difficult to use secondary to the location of the shower head and the white couches/chairs needed to be cleaned (they looked pretty dingy). Otherwise we had a fantastic time and everything was just as it should have been. Great location and we could walk to pretty much everything we wanted to see. Having the kitchen and washer/dryer was great.

We had stayed in our 3rd Savannah Getaways condo and loved it! Savannah is a special place for my girlfriend and I because I had been stationed there for 4 years and had lived downtown and loved every minute spent there! The house was great, right off Liberty Street and close to everything, especially "Six Pence Pub". Anyone who stays here will love it! Thanks Savannah Getaways

Savannah Getaways and the owners of this home provided us great service. We are repeat customers of Savannah Getaways (many times over) and never have been disappointed. The location of this home was ideal for getting to everything in the historic district. It provided a great middle point for us to rest and relax as we took in the sites, walked our feet off, had a praline or two and just decompressed from the frenetic holiday season. We loved the atmosphere and the amenities. We had everything we needed.

The place we stayed was absolutely lovely, the town was gorgeous, and the
people were very friendly. I would highly recommend this. We were there
during three days of rain, and yet, it was one of our best vacations ever! The
home we stayed in felt very appropriate for southern Georgia, it was very well
appointed and comfortable. We felt more like we were at home instead of at a
rental. It was just a short walk to shopping and food (very important)! -

The accommodations were superb! The room was just as described in a great location convenient to everything we wanted to do. I was however a little disappointed in the size of the TV but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room anyway. We plan to go back next year and will most likely stay at the same place depending on availability. Absolutely loved the Foody Tour and the Scary Ghost Tour given by Mr. Ron Harris. So much to see,do and eat .... We needed more time.

The Pros:
The location of this apartment was ideal. The entire historic district and riverfront are within walking distance. The light is amazing. The large windows and decorations emphasize the brightness. Jasmine growing at the back of the house smells wonderful as you enter and exit and when you sit out on the deck. Would stay here again!!!!!!
The Cons:
The shower head leaves a bit desired, unless you like almost drowning during your daily shower. Imagine HUGE shower head (that doesn't move) and tiny shower stall! The tv is a 12" so bring a laptop if you want to see what you're watching. Its a busy city and its noisy all hours of the day and night. If you are used to quiet country nights, like we are, it will be difficult to sleep, especially if you get some of the RUDE renters upstairs like we did. -

THe home is beautiful and the location is perfect. I have stayed here before though it was in a different unit. The only problem I had was with the shower. It's extremely small, shower head comes straight down which is annoying and awkward to maneuver around. There also appears to be a problem with the light in the shower-water goes into it which could be a hazard.
The bed was one of the most comfortable ones I've ever slept in which kinda made up for the shower. -

We had a wonderful time. We were located in the historic district and we could walk everywhere we wanted to go, except for groceries. Everyone was friendly and the weather was not too hot and not too cold. The accomadation was beautifully decorated and perfect for two people. A bigger T.V would have been nice, but I'm not complaining. I would definately recommend this to anyone going to Savannah.

Left on 01/07/2009 for a stay in November 2008
We had visited Savannah briefly some years ago but now we are semi-retired, so this time around we wanted to stay for a longer period of time and really get to know the city. The property is ideally located (on Liberty Street), so we felt that we were right in the heart of the city, with lovely restaurants, cafes and shops within reach (not to forget the local gym for yoga classes!). We rented bicycles, which is the best way to see all the sights in Savannah, and also enabled us to explore our surroundings further afield. The apartment was exquisitely furnished. Everything was available, including an enormous pile of towels and a couple of excellent bottles of wine! Whenever the weather was good, we sat for hours on the south-facing veranda. We are from the Netherlands, so we were grateful that we met the owner who was very attentive and helped us with all our needs and questions. In short, it has been a unique holiday that we will always remember.

Left on 11/08/2008 for a stay in October 2008
My husband and I visit Savannah yearly, we lived their for 4
years in the early 90's and love it. We decided to stay at an
apt this time and we are not sure if we will do it again. I
would say the best feature of this apt was the parking. You
get your own spot and that is gold in Savannah. We arrived
around 4 pm and it felt like they were not ready for us. There
were wet sheets and towels in the washing machine and a
bunch of dried stuff in the dryer. Their were dishes in the
dish washer and they still looked dirty. We came prepared to
eat at the apt but was disappointed at the size of the
kitchen. The Fridge was so small and barely had a freezer. Its
not a kitchen to really cook in. We ended up washing
everything we used before using it. All the dishes and
silverware seemed dirty. The bathroom was not set up for
people coming in from out of town, there was nothing to put
your things on except this small end table. It would of been
nice to have some kind of shelves or counter space to put
stuff on. The toilet was the most frustrating thing about this
place. It did not flush. You had to pick up the porcelain top
and manually flush it. The shower was ridiculous. The
overhead shower head was the size of the small shower so it
was nearly impossible to wash.
The windows were really nice, letting a bunch of sunlight in
and the fireplace would of been nice to use if the gas was
turned on. The bed was real comfortable.
The location is nice, your not in the middle of it all but close
enough. The back porch was a plus. SInce the apt was not a
place you would hang out in it made you enjoy the outside
and the porch.

Ideal location!
Left on 08/17/2008 for a stay in July 2008
Pros: This apartment had a great location for exploring the Historic District. We found it an easy walk to everything we wanted to do. The small kitchen was nice for making breakfast and enjoying a late afternoon snack and glass of wine. The large bed was so comfortable, we hated to get up in the morning.
Cons: The apartment is located on W. Liberty St. which is a very busy, noisy street. You can close the pocket doors separating the bedroom but still hear some street traffic. The bathroom is very small with only a tiny stall shower. It is modestly decorated, neat and tidy but not a luxury rental.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay in beautiful Savannah and would probably stay here again.

We spent five wonderful days in Savannah and this was the perfect location from which to explore the city.
We found it easily and it was pretty much as pictured online. We particularly enjoyed the kitchen facilities, fueling up with oatmeal each morning before our walking adventures of Savannah.
We also took advantage of the convenient, on-site laundry facilities.
The complimentary wine and coffee were also a nice touch and made us feel like special guests.
I would definitely recommend these accomodations. -

This delightful apartment is situated in the Old Town section of Savannah and is within easy walking distance of everything that Savannah has to offer. Although located on a busy main street, the bedroom is set to the rear, so it remains peaceful. The kitchen area is new and contains all (more, actually) that you would need to make a light breakfast before taking on Savannah. The King sized bed is fantastic and will guarantee that your nights there will be great. Also noted was the very good air conditioning system...a must in Savannah. If you are considering a trip there....RENT THIS!!!
