Description from the manager
#1035 What you DON'T see is what you get. You could walk by the front of this East Taylor St. property every day and not notice the hidden away cottage out behind. An artist who lived in the main house built his 15x15 studio at the rear of the property under and behind a big shade tree. In 2004 it was expanded into The Cottage by the addition of sleeping quarters, kitchenette with electric hot plate and small under the counter refrigerator, and full bath with whirlpool tub. The Cottage feels like new construction with recessed lighting, carpeted bedroom, glass tile trim in the bath, and upscale furnishings including a sofa sleeper for ext...Read more

Downtown KendallQuiet and cosy
Left on 01/17/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We recently spent a week at this cottage and had a very nice stay. The street and cottage were very quiet, but right in the middle of the historic district. Easy access to everything! The instructions were precise, and everything was exactly as described. We'd definitely rent again! Thanks for a great Savannah experience!

We have always stayed in hotels when we visited Savannah. On this trip we wanted to see how the locals live. We were very pleased with location. 1 block away from the lovely Whitefield Square. The cottage is 1 street away from Jones Street (said to be the most beautiful street in the us - and we agree!!!). We were within walking distance to restaurants and points of interest. The cottage itself was very nice. The perfect size for a couple. Wonderful bedroom and great jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Wish the kitchen had an apartment size stove so that cooking was more convenient for longer stays. The sofa was not very comfortable (probably because it can also be used as an extra bed if needed). The cottage shares a very nice large deck with the large double home facing the street. It has several tables, built in bench seating under very big beautiful tree. We were able to be in contact with the owner via internet and he supplied us with a contact person in Savannah, for any issues. Thank you aubrey for setting up our stay.

Rock Hill, SCThe perfect romantic getaway!
Left on 04/30/2010 for a stay in April 2010
My boyfriend and I loved this small cottage atmosphere where we could get away from the "hustle and bustle" of life. It was perfect for the two of us. The patio was nice too every morning to drink coffee and relax. We were very close to the main attractions of Savannah.

We enjoyed our stay. It was a neat cozy little cottage perfect for us! The deck area was great. The house could have been cleaned a little better and we did have to clean the tables and deck area when we got there. Other than that we were happy with everything.

This is a lovely place for two for a long weekend. The cottage is small, but tasteful and very comfortable. The patio area is perfect for a morning cup of coffee or an evening iced tea. The owner is very responsive and helpful, and the location is very convenient to all the features of historic downtown.

This cute little cottage was perfect for our weekend trip. We arrived in Feb. and it was warm and sunny!
The cottage is very roomy and very clean. And in a great location. It was very easy for us to just park the car and walk around the city. Lots of cute parks, good food and good coffee shops to walk to.
I would stay here again! -

VermontHome away from home!

We were met by the property owner who graciously took our bags into the cottage for us. We had access to a wonderful deck with a grill and the property was in a very safe neighborhood with a grocery store within walking distance. The cottage was very private and couldn't have been more comfortable. Savannah is easily walkable but my husband doesn't get around very well so we found the Pedicab company extremely reliable! All in all we would definately stay there again. As a matter of fact the main house in front of the cottage is a duplex that the owner also rents out. It would be a great spot for a family reunion or get together with a bunch of friends!! Thank you Aubrey at Savannah Getaways for helping us find the perfect vacation rental property for our needs!

I highly recommend this home. It was private, clean and absolutely wonderful. The linens were soft and of high quality. There were extra blankets, and all of the little necessities ie: bottle opener, dishes, "to-go cups" etc. It was elegantly decorated, yet comfortable. Even my husband, who doesn't comment on decor, said it was beautiful. Everything was pretty much within walking distance, but we were glad we rented a car. The owner was super nice and gave us lots of suggestions. We initially had a difficult time finding the key, as we were completely sleep deprived, however we called the contact person, and she called us back immediately, and was very helpful. (The instructions were perfectly clear, however we read them wrong!) The neighbors are very friendly, a perfect example of Southern Hospitality! Neither my husband nor I, wanted to leave "our" cottage. We will definitely be coming back and look forward to staying in the hidden cottage again!
