Description from the manager
#1030 A slightly abbreviated quote out of a famous book about Savannah tells you what you are about to experience: "We pulled into Crawford Square, of the city's squares it was one of the smallest and most picturesque…" "…the apartment was light and airy and comfortably furnished. The front windows looked out through the foliage of a magnificent oak into the square…" The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a refrigerator with icemaker and filtered water, washer and dryer are provided. There is satellite TV with three commercial free movie channels and many XM radio channels. The small courtyard has a grill and smok...Read more

Left on 01/09/2013 for a stay in November 2012
This year my small immediate family decided to escape the cooking and the drama of the extended family and traveled to Savannah for Thanksgiving. It was perfect. This apartment was well equipped, perfectly located and very clean. This is the second time we stay at this property in the last 3 years and I highly recommend it. It has worry free parking and the decor is lovely. The price was resonable as well. We had Thanksgivig dinner at a beautiful local mansion turned restaurant. Most of the local spots were open, and we even got some great Black Friday deals. In the end I missed my family...but not that much!

Columbus, GAGreat place to stay, great location
Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We loved this apartment. It was wonderful staying somewhere that was not a cookie cutter hotel room. I'll make an effort to always stay here when I visit Savannah. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the room didn't have Espn, on Saturday's thats a must for me. Otherwise I highly recommend!!!

Hello Savannah Getaways,
Â
Thanks for all your help booking our stay at 231 a Houston St Savannah Ga (Listing 1030). Â The one bedroom apartment was very spacious and very nice. Â The patio was relaxing. Â The location was perfect, we were able to walk anywhere in the Historic district and the River street area.
We also visited Tybee Island. Â Only 20 minutes away.
Your recommendations for food were great. Â Everything we ate was wonderful. Â We really enjoyed The Crab Shack.
The bottle of champagne was a great touch.
We couldn't have picked a better vacation for our Honeymoon!
Thank you,
Vicki & Stuart Simpson

We've stayed in many locations in Savannah, and this one was tops! The apartment was very clean and very conveniently located. The owners were VERY welcoming. I would definitely stay there again, and I highly recommend it to any couple staying in Savannah. We loved the private patio and how roomy the place was.

Left on 03/17/2010 for a stay in February 2010
This year was the fifth year I've rented an apartment for the month of
February in Savannah. The apartment I stayed in this year was the
most comfortable of all the ones I have rented. The owners, Steve and
Bea Archer, were most gracious. They and Buddy, their happy puppy,
made me feel as comfortable as if I were at home. If it was available
the apartment on Houston street would be my first choice whenever I
had occasion to visit Savannah. What did I like least? The weather this
year was not quite what I had experienced in the previous four years in
Savannah. -

Left on 03/10/2010 for a stay in January 2010
This is a little gem overlooking a quaint square. We
literally parked our car and walked everywhere! The
owners are charming and live upstairs. Highly
recommend this location as it is close to
everything...squares, riverfront, museums, great
restaurants! We stayed for the month and plan on
coming back next year for 2 months, plus it is dog
friendly as we have a cute bichon who loved the
parks.
Accomodations are nice, small and quaint. Owners are
lovely people with a great dog as well. -

Norcross, GACozy Apartment Close to Everything
Left on 01/17/2010 for a stay in December 2009
Check-in and check-out were super easy. The owner lives above the unit and was there with lots of helpful information and resources. Parking is close, which is nice in the historic district.
The unit was fully outfitted (including kitchen), and had everything we could possibly need. It was great that it had internet service, but seemed to only have wired (not wireless). But we weren't there for the internet so that didn't count for much.
The unit is located on the east side of the historic district only a few blocks from all of the sights. The only driving we did was to go out to the islands. For dining, we wandered around on foot eating at the variety of restaurants nearby.
Overall it was a great experience. Good price, good unit, and great location. -

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property on Houston Street. This is a
great location in the historic area. A tribute to the owners, the apartment was
nicely furnished, all the amenities you could ask for and the owners were so
nice and had so much knowledge of the area. We can't wait to return. Also, a
thank you to the people at Savannah Getaway for being so helpful.

Left on 07/27/2009 for a stay in June 2009
My husband and I stayed here in June of 2009 and adored the place. It had everything we needed and was so close to everything! We took our bikes and saw the stunning city of Savannah that way and it was perfect. The apartment was very clean and quiet. The courtyard is nice to sip a glass of wine in the evenings. The best thing for us was that it was pet friendly so we didn't have to leave our dogs at a kennel. It was great to have a kitchen so as not to have to eat out for every meal, although definitely try The Olde Pink House, superb dining! Also a short drive to Tybee Island.

Left on 05/15/2009 for a stay in April 2009
Very clean, well equiped, well appointed property. LR, BR, Full kitchen, Flower filled courtyard w/ table and chairs. Savannah Getaways is an excellent rental company, and I plan to use them again in the fall. The onsite landlady/lord were an excellent source of information on the local area and insider tips on what to see and do, they were always available and friendly, but unintrusive. The living room furniture and bed were very comfortable, with nice reading material, local information provided. Easy parking, great location within easy walking distance to everything. This is an excellent property, well worth the cost. The only minor drawback was the noise passing from the unit above us down to our unit, but it was never a problem late in the evening or early in the morning- so were were not disturbed. This property was great for a long weekend, but would be great for a stay of a month or longer. If I were returning for a long visit, I would probably bring a DVD player- tho the excellent wireless access would making watching downloaded movies a breeze. I'd recommend this property without reservation.

What a perfect location/accomodation for a couple wishing to explore Savannah! This historic district property is close to EVERYTHING and a great spot from which to drive South to the Golden Isles or North to Beaufort and Hilton Head. You can walk to almost everything and the space is great. A Queen bed (very firm!), a fully equiped galley kitchen, fireplace, a lovely enclosed courtyard, washer/dryer and satellite TV. Sadly, no DVD player and NO INTERNET availability. We would recommend this property to any couple wanting to explore Savannah for a few days or a few months.

Left on 11/11/2008 for a stay in October 2008
The apartment had all of the comforts of home and then some! It was within walking distance of most everything in the historic district. The only thing we found that was ok but we are not use to is the bed was very firm. However, we would stay there if we came to Savannah again! Our whole experience working with Savannah Getaways was positive and the Archers were wonderful to us! It was our 41st Wedding Anniversary and they had some wine and chocolates waiting for us in the fridge. Very thoughtful!

Review of #1046
This residence was perfect for a homey stay in Savannah. It was clean and
inviting and in a terrific location. I didn't get in my car the whole
time I was there due to everything being in walking distance. I very much
appreciate that this condo was pet friendly and will certainly rent it
again if I return to Savannah. Thank you!
Sincerely,

A very quaint home with a refreshing courtyard out back. The neighborhood was very friendly and it was a quick walk to sights on the East side of town as well as River street.
