#1001 In 1880 two Victorian sisters created this magnificent spacious Italianate manor, one half for each family. Today after lovingly being restored the homes still both share their gracious presences on Jones. This home and beautiful walled garden are available for your special events, business or family gatherings. Your intimate Savannah wedding would be enchanting in our magnificent surroundings. Historic Savannah is at your door step. This exquisite home can accommodate eleven guests, and may be separated to accommodate two families or opened to enjoy the entire home. Jones Street is always the talk of Savannah. Every book, every mov...ie, every adventure always features Jones with its magnificent huge live oaks protecting the Historic homes that line up on either side of the wide shaded boulevard. From mid February to early spring it is alive with blazing colors and the soft scent of the azaleas from the beautiful gardens that grace the area. Jones Street is the street of Savannah; adjacent to all the local historic parks, shops, dining and surrounded by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). You are a short 20 minute stroll to downtown and more shops and then down to the riverside where the "big action" is. This 4000 square foot 1880 mansion has been lovingly preserved over the years and restored to its original magnificent glory to maintain its Victorian charm while providing all the modern conveniences. The home boosts six original Rumford type fireplaces, tall ceilings and heart pine floors that shine from one level to the other, portraying the old south from the main grand stair case to the garden floor. Within the walled garden you may experience the serenity of the flowing fountains and ivy that surrounds and overflows the raised beds. This home has two separate living spaces that can be easily opened to provide a single living space or configured as two separate living areas, as follows: 1. The main home features a formal living room and formal dining room, huge gourmet eat-in kitchen, three master bedrooms and two lovely bathing suites and boasts two original balconies. 2. The garden apartment includes a sitting room and a giant TV, eat in kitchenette, two lovely bedrooms with a shared bath and access to the garden. The main house is the second and third floor. The living room overlooks Jones Street with floor to ceiling windows. Appointed comfortably yet decorated traditionally in keeping with the homes period you can watch out over the street and peek under the Spanish moss on the live oaks and hear the clip-clop of the horse drawn buggy slowly making its way. Oh the serenity of Jones. The formal dining room is outfitted by Thomasville with the King and Queen chairs and the soft twinkling of the magnificent crystal chandelier easily accommodating a party of twelve with an adjoining original balcony for those before dinner libations. The gourmet kitchen is equipped with Kitchen Craft cupboards, two farmers porcelain sinks, a sub-zero refrigerator and a thermador commercial stove with a Q grill. Host your own dinner party using the Royal Dolton set or hire a chef. This is a spectacular kitchen with unbelievably detailed to the woodwork, extraordinary colors and great views of the courtyard. Up the grand staircase are three luxurious master rooms; each with their own character and adjoining baths. The featured King Room boasts a Savannah suite appointed in soft blue tones, Persian carpeting underfoot and cozy chairs to enjoy your private morning coffee overlooking Jones. The adjoining bath has a "rainforest shower" in matching greens and fluffy towels. The second master suite has a Great Queen and a pillow stuffed day bed providing total luxury with a huge skylight overhead to watch the Savannah stars. The adjoining bath with the walk in shower boasts three different shower heads to melt away the Savannah heat or lets you bubble up in the claw foot soaking tub. Enjoy the third floor balcony as you overlook the Savannah rooftops as the morning sun arises. The Garden Floor has been totally upgraded for an outstanding comfortable and cozy getaway. The master bedroom is very spacious boasting a Bernhart King Suite; once again with a pair of chairs peeking out over Jones Street. Down the hall is a family gathering area with a large screen TV and stereo system. The kitchenette boasts its own dishwasher and all amenities for a quiet breakfast or a light snack while overlooking the garden. The second bedroom facing the garden has a lovely Bernhart Queen set. There is a spacious updated Kohler bath/shower to share. Absolutely no pets and no smoking allowed at this property. Please note that a longer nightly minimum may be required during peak season, holidays or special events.

  I stayed in this home for a weekend with ten of my college sorority sisters. We are all now in our 30's and chose Savannah for a reunion. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. We walked to River Street during the day with no problem. I would definitely recommend this home to families or larger groups. You will not be disappointed!

  I can't recommend this beautiful home enough. We stayed 7 nights for my wedding and it was a dream. We had the whole house and I would stay in bottom suite or top suite again and if I came again with a big group I wouldn't think twice about renting the whole home.

  Nine of us ladies spent a week in this wonderful house. We rented both levels and it was perfect. The house was very clean and better than expected from the pictures. The furnishings were beautiful. All the beds were so comfortable. The kitchen was so nice that we stayed in and cooked most evenings. All the basic supplies were there. The location was great. Far enough away to be very quiet but only 3 blocks to catch the free shuttle bus or a short $6.00 taxi ride to downtown. Enjoyed the courtyard in the evenings. We can't think of a single negative thing to say about this house and will certainly stay there again if we ever get back to beautiful Savannah.

  Wonderful Manor Home!

  What a wonderful home! The spacious rooms allowed us to be together for meals or gather to chat in the living room or kitchen. We loved the character and charm of the home and appreciated the beautiful homey touches. No "rental" feeling at all.
  Girls ranging in age from 25 to 75 and we were able to walk most places or take the free city bus. Great location! We looked forward to "heading home" after a day of site-seeing.
  The reservation and check-in process was simple and hassle free.

  This was an excellent property. We stayed in the home with 8 adults and 2 children and rented the entire property including the downstairs apartment. We enjoyed the porch off of the kitchen and the dining area. If we ever stay in Savannah again, this will be our first choice. The only negative issue we had was there was no assigned parking for the home and we parked on the street. Other than that we had no complaints.

  Wonderful for a sorority sister reunion

  This house was fabulous for our Zeta Tau alpha reunion. There were 10 of us and no one felt crowded. The accomodations were spacious, comfortable and beautiful. The kitchen was made to order for an evening where many pitched in to cook a fabulous southern meal. The courtyard made an excellent place to visit with the quiet sound of a garden fountain. It was close to everything and certainly had the southern charm I was looking for. I would recommend this house to any group.

  I can't say enough good things about both this house and Savannah getaways. The house is in a beautiful area of the historic district and within walking distance of the squares and Bay St. The main kitchen is amazing - we purposely passed on eating out a couple times to take advantage of the kitchen. We filled all five bedrooms and made it into a reunion weekend of old friends, traveling from New Mexico, North Carolina, Michigan, and Illinois. I called Savannah Getaways during the stay and received great service from Pat for my questions. I will absolutely try to rent this house again if I have a big group and visit Savannah again. Don't pass this one up!

  Just spent a weekend in Savannah with a group of girlfriends. This house was in a beautiful neighborhood and absolutely amazing! We couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Everything you could need was available in the house and we really enjoyed the sitting room and outdoor patio. Close enough to get around Savannah very easily. The crew at Savannah Getaways was great too!

  The house was amazing!! We had a group of friends for my sister's bachlorette party and the house was perfect. Everything was so comfortable.   The house was everything we had hoped for and more. Plenty of room for the 7 of us. Everything in the home was beautiful and comfortable. It was really great that there was a washer and dryer. The furniture, linens, towels, etc. were fabulous. The location was perfect for us; on a quiet street, but close enough to walk everywhere. The garden area was a perfect place to sit in the afternoon and evening. The best thing was that we were truly in an elegant southern home. There wasn't anything that we didn't like.
