Attractive, comfy, well-stocked - we hope we can return!

Left on 02/12/2013 for a stay in February 2013

We so enjoyed our stay in this charming house, decorated with great care. Every room is attractive, with fascinating little objects everywhere.
The place is also extremely well equipped with just about everything you'd need to live there. (Usually when we rent a house we find there's something we need that we have to buy, especially for the kitchen, but this time we didn't have to do that!) Not only is everything you need already there, but you can find it, because all the locations of vital things are artistically and thoughtfully labeled.
As others have noted, the location is on the western edge of the historic district, but very quiet and a short walk to everything you'd want to visit. (Moreover, having the parking spaces in the back meant we didn't have to worry about finding a place on the street.)
The owner lives nearby and was very friendly and willing to accommodate us and our elderly dog every way she could.
If we are fortunate enough to be able to return to Savannah we definitely hope to be able to stay here again.

We absolutely loved this house and felt very comfortable here.

Left on 10/14/2012 for a stay in October 2012

I was nervous renting a place I had not seen in person but this home exceded all expectations and the pictures are true to what you will find in the home. The owners had everything you could possibly want except perishable groceries. There was even a box with things that travelers forget to bring with them like razors, deoderant, toothpaste, etc. The grocery store was very close and convenient. All the drawers and cabinets in the kitchen were labeled with contents, which made it much easier to find whatever you were looking for. There was all kinds of info on restaurants and things to do in Savannah. My two sisters and their spouses, my husband and I stayed here. The house is beautiful. The street was very quiet and incredibly beautiful. We felt very much at home here. The local residents we met on Jones St. were very nice and helpful on giving us directions to places we wanted to walk to. We walked to several places in the historic part of town and also rode the free trolley, which stopped about four short blocks from the house. I hope to return to this house again to stay longer. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to live like a local.

      wonderful home. excellent choice.

Left on 09/06/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We loved this house. It was comfortable, clean, and fun. The owner has gone to great lengths to include everything in the house to ensure a convenient and enjoyable stay.

We had intended to dine out while in Savannah, but we enjoyed the house so much that we cooked or brought food in every night.

It is "on the edge" of the historic district, but we felt safe in the neighborhood at night and didn't have any trouble walking to everything we wanted to see.

My wife and 3 daughters (17,14,12) loved the house and it made me a hero with them.

The girls really enjoyed the included Netflix streaming and HuluPlus on the TV. I appreciated the fast wifi.

      Great vacation weekend.

sorry this took long to post following our visit. we were there in late march and the weather in savannah was perfect...as we this house. i have rented homes from key west to colorado and i have never come across a home so equipped in all my travels. from the movie library to the cozy towels to the picnic basket to the ice cream maker to citronella candles...everything you would ever need is there. we had a group of six and there was plenty of room for everyone. the home is warm and inviting...and so is the owner. she was there when we "checked in" to fix a broker dishwasher. it was nice to know such attention was being paid to her property. the home was the perfect backrop to a perfect weekend. we'll be back soon!

      Fantastic

Left on 05/02/2012 for a stay in April 2012

What an awesome house. I can't say enough good things! We stayed here a long weekend last weekend with 7 adults and had a fabulous time. We met here to hang out with old friends and have some fun. The house was cozy yet we never felt cramped. The attention to detail was on-point. It was great to relax out back with a fire in the evenings. The location was perfect to walk to anywhere in the historic district, and the grocery store was only a 10 minute walk (2 min drive). Kitchen had everything you would need to make a great meal and the "hangover" kit even came in handy. Really, the owners have thought of everything! The only downside was that there were only 2 showers (the bathroom upstairs only has a tub) and the upstairs bed is a little short for a guy on the tall side. Overall, the house was very clean and charming without feeling too dated. I would definitely recommend this house!

Now I want to live in Savannah! Fabulous!

Left on 03/28/2012 for a stay in March 2012

Our stay was magnificient. First the ease of the booking process. We arrived at the home & realized it was so much more than we bargined for...it was ideal. The owner actually left some wonderful goodies for our St. Paddy's celebration. Everything was nicely labeled & recommendations were left for resturants & attractions. The courtyard & dining area was large enough for 10 + adults plus the home had ample dishware with extras. The home lacked nothing...clean grill, nice cookware, fire pit with wood, bubbles, ice cream maker, tolietries, plenty of extra linens and so much more. If you had forgotten it...it was there. Such a wonderful home & extremely comfortable plu very clean. Within a leisurely walk of 15 minutes you could go anywhere including the grocery store, City Market, River Street. A added bonus was the parking. I have already recommended this fabulous home & will stay here everytime I make it to Savannah.

This house is perfect. Loved having everything labeled and easy to use. Cabinets even had some necessary staples supplied. House was very nice and clean. Service from the agency was very good.
Adjoining vacant home is an eyesore, but the rest of the neighborhood is quite nice.
We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area and would recommend this house to anyone.

Left on 06/20/2011 for a stay in June 2011

This historic home was a pleasant surprise on the inside. From the outside it looked small, but once inside we found 2 floors of beautifully furnished rooms, very clean, and stocked with everything one could need. The outdoor patio area gave us additional room to entertain, and we were able to grill & cook without having to go out to eat all the time.
For a large family with a grand baby along this was a good choice-plus it turned out to be less expensive than the 3 hotel rooms we would have needed!

A Fantastic, Authentic Historic Savannah Experience...

Left on 09/17/2010 for a stay in July 2010

Absolutely loved this place! Unbelievable charm with a shabby chic style. Comfortable beds, great master bathroom and well equipped kitchen. Owner(s) have a cabinet filled with all those extras you might forget and it came in very handy for us. It was a rainy, but warm day and we had our heart set on walking down to the riverfront area and shopping along the way. I only had one umbrella for 3 of us but to our surprise, the owner(s) had rain ponchos and saved the day!! A small thing, I know, but that attention to detail made you really feel that good old southern hospitality! Lots of extras, like games, puzzles, movies, lots of travel brochures, crayons, etc. and everything was very well labeled. The walk down to the river area was beautiful and not too far at all. Overall, just a wonderful experience... we hope to come back and would definitely stay here again.

The home was well stocked, clean and very comfortable, with an outside sitting area that added so much to the entire experience.

I will definately continue to use Savannah Getaways, due the the high level of service that I know I will always receive with them. I anticipate visiting this home again...soon I hope.

This house was all the other reviews said it was - exceptionally well furnished with everything we could have needed, including bandaids! It felt roomier and more private than I had thought it would be, according to the square footage, because of the way the bedrooms are spread apart. This home was darling. The homeowner thought of everything that you might need or forgot to bring with you. We stayed with 3 couples and each had our own bathroom. The layout of the home is nice with all the bedrooms separated to give you some privacy. This home is a little over a mile away from Bay St but the walk isn't bad. We liked being just outside the busier parts of the city. This home also had 2 parking spots which alleviated us from having to search for street parking. I strongly recommend Mrs. Wilkes for lunch. It's worth the wait but make sure you go on a week day as they are closed on the weekends and only open until 2pm M-F.

      PERFECT FOR OUR GIRLS GETAWAY

Left on 04/06/2010 for a stay in March 2010

This property was perfect for our "girls getaway" trip … in fact, this home exceeded our expectations! It was clean, very inviting, comfortable, well-equipped, convenient to CAT bus stops (free to ride in the historic area), and within walking-distance of many of our sightseeing destinations in Savannah. It was also nice to have 2 off-street parking spaces. When we weren't "out on the town", we enjoyed relaxing at the house -- both inside and also on the patio. Bottom-line, our group of five ladies was very pleased we chose this home and would definitely recommend it to others! (It would be a great place for a family group and would also very comfortably accomodate a group of couples.) The property managers at SAVANNAH GETAWAYS folks were very professional and helpful also.

      All the comforts of home...

Left on 01/18/2010 for a stay in December 2009

From the time we walked through the door, my family was in awe of the many little extras that the house offered. We had a little one with us and finding a baby gate for the stairs was very unexpected. The pantry and the frig offered many extras, and the kitchen was better stocked than my own at home. We were there in bad weather, and a baby who got sick the first day, so we had to stay in most of the time we were there and this place was as comfortable as being at home. The overstocked media cabinet had movies galore that satisfied the little one and the grownups as well. Unlike a typical hotel room, we had plenty of comfy chairs and couches, and beds to stretch out and relax. Our little one loved the big tub in the master bedroom and we all loved the kitchen. Too many wonderful little extras to list. We were close enough to walk to River Street, had the weather permitted, and we were in an area that was safe and quiet. We had enough parking spaces for our needs as well. We definitely will ask for this house again when we return to Savannah.
      Loved, loved the decor!

This home is an example of southern hospitality at its best! It was spacious and very comfortable! The home was very family oriented! We had a total of 8 adults and 4 children (age range 73-18 months). And we were all very comfortable. The home was very well kept and maintained. I loved the way the owner made sure that u were very comfortable. The home was equipped with many "Things u might have forgotten" items throughout the home. I loved all the the details that were put in to making this home great. As far as the distance to riverfront, Its about a 15-20 minute stroll. But its well worth it. Tybee island is only 14 miles away. The 2 car private parking is great as well. This home was truly a blessing to me and my family. We shall return upon our next annual Savannah Getawy!!!!

The Savannah Getaways service was very professional and provided all the information we needed for this trip. There were notes posted through out the house telling us of locations for items to be used in the house and locations of grocery stores, dining places, and entertamint places. There were several items in the pantry for us to use and we were contacted to see if we needed anything else. The best part was not having to move your vehicle by just being within walking distance of anything you might want to see or do.

My wife and I fell in love with Savannah in the early 90s when I was stationed there. We return often and have always stayed in B&Bs. Your place made us not want to ever visit another B&B in Savannah. The Robert Low house provided a far better experience than any B&B we have stayed in. And we have stayed way too many in Savannah.
All the right touches were made to make this a special place. My mother-in-law enjoyed her visit and the noted tags through the house made it so much easier for her to feel comfortable in the kitchen due to her poor vision. Our foster child and nephew, teenaged boys, enjoyed being upstairs away from the adults and they loved the movie collection. The general location was great, with neighbors that made us all feel at home. Area attractions were within walking distance to the home, which our boys really enjoyed.
My wife and I can't wait to return.

I don't normally write gushy reviews, but this rental property was amazing. I booked it for a writing retreat -- me and eight other authors. It slept the nine of us very comfortably. This was literally the best rental property I have ever stayed in. The beds were comfortable and the location was great, but what pushed it over the edge were all the little details -- the brimming cupboard of things in case you forgot something, the selection of pots and pans, the absolute stunning detail of the decor, and the atmosphere. Two enthusiastic thumbs up. Loved it.
