Description from the manager

Our home is located on Chatham Square in the National Historic District...more specifically, we are N.O.G.S. (North Of Gaston Street as the locals refer to it). The home was built prior to the Civil War in 1853, and can best be described as resembling a charming Old English Cottage complete with exposed wood beams, brick walls, original fireplace, and period furniture.

You will want to take advantage of the home's own Offstreet Parking, so as not to fall victim to our highly efficient meter maids. Step through the gate, and you feel like you're entering your own little oasis. A path made of Old Savannah Brick pavers winds down the side... of the home, leading to the entrance for the Garden Apartment. The path continues to the rear of the home, where a large shared courtyard the size of a backyard in the suburbs awaits you. You realize the care and planning that went into the landscaping immediately, and the fine craftsmanship of all the stone and masonry work. You also see the inviting table, chairs, umbrella, and large outdoor grill just inviting you for coffee in the morning, or cocktails in the evening.

Inside, you'll find a fully outfitted kitchen, complete with all necessary cooking utensils, dishes, and appliances. The French Bistro Table looking out the large window to the Courtyard is a alternative to the patio outside. The large antinque desk can help keep you on task if it is Work that brings you to Savannah (we also have WIFI for your convenience).

The living room is tastefully decorated with a full-sized sleeper sofa, additional seating chairs and ottomans, Flat screen TV/DVD combo. The brick walls, exposed beam ceiling, and original Fireplace remind you that while you may be watching a Flat Screen TV, you're doing it in a home built in 1853.

The large Master Suite the same original elements (walls, ceiling, fireplace) as the living room. It also has some great period pieces as well, including a Queen Sized Cast Iron Bed.

Attached to the Master Bedroom is the Full bathroom, recently updated to include bright subway tile and glass enclosed shower with built in seat.

When you're ready to venture out, you are conveniently located, as the house is only a 2 minute walk to famous Forsyth Park, and only 5-7 minutes on foot to the shopping and dining of Broughton Street. A more fun method is to call Savannah Pedicab Company (these local rickshaws are often operated by local SCAD students, and they're never more than 5 minutes away). Feel free to use the provided chairs, picnic basket, and ground cover to enjoy Forsyth Park (more than likely there will be some event with live music)

When you get hungry, again many options: prepare your own meal in the full kitchen or on the grill, head towards the River for many great Restaurant options, or for lunch walk across the square to enjoy Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House Restaurant, a Savannah institution for 60+ years (make sure to leave room for desert).

Speaking of Mrs. Wilkes....For stays of 5 or more nights, our guests can enjoy lunch at Mrs. Wilkes on us (limit 2 Gift Certificates per stay). If you are unfamiliar with this restaurant, it has been included in 1001 Places to See Before You Die, and most recently visited by President Obama.

  Everything about this apartment was as described by the owners. The location near Forsythe Park was brilliant for our small child. We could walk everywhere we needed to- grocery store, playground, organic market, church, restaurants, historical sights- you name it. We would sit in the garden each morning and drink coffee while our son played. Then we would walk through the city and see the landmarks, stopping frequently at shops or to get a drink and cool off a bit. The apartment itself was spacious enough- nice bathroom, great kitchen, and a bedroom you could stay in all day, if you wanted. We were very pleased with our selection and highly recommend this apartment!

  We absolutely loved this condo. It was roomy enough for our family of four and the washer and dryer came in handy. It is in a beautiful neighborhood and was in walking distance of many things that we wanted to do. The owner was really nice and helpful with information about the area. I would love to stay here again on my next trip to Savannah.

  My wife and I enjoyed two wonderful days in this beautifully appointed retreat that faces out onto one of the famous Savannah Squares and backed onto it's own private fenced in garden paradise.
  
  This accomadation was just a few minutes walk to all the Historic District main attractions and the dedicated off street parking was a great bonus.
  
  The staff at Lucky Savannah are very attentive and friendly and really make you feel at home. A five star experience.
