In popular Sayulita, one hour north of Puerto Vallarta (PVR). At the center of Sayulita is the town plaza, where the popular restaurants and church are. The beach is one short block from the town center. Casa Juanita sits 5 minutes "above" central plaza on "Gringo Hill" and at the very tippy top of Gringo Hill, away from noise and traffic.

We stayed at Casa Juanita during Christmas week 2012. The accommodations look just as the photos describe. We occupied the third floor apartment which also included the roof deck. The casa was well equipped, very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the private outside covered patio. The maid service was excellent. The property sits at the top of "gringo hill" which is very quiet and shaded. The trade off is that you have to walk up the hill to get there. Sayulita is a bit busy and can be noisy at night. Being up on the hill was a nice escape. Juanita is a great host and nice lady. She lives on premises and did everything to make sure our stay was enjoyable. If you want to get away from the big hotels and experience real Mexican culture, Sayulita is the place. We had a memorable time and would definitely return.

I stayed at Casa Juanita during the last two winters with my boyfriend, in both the third floor suite and then we moved to the second floor apartment. The property itself is in a great location, a peaceful and beautiful residential neighborhood, close to town but away from the noise, a ten minute walk more or less. The grounds are lovely, with mature landscaping, lots of areas to lounge around the yard and next to the pool. You can tell the that Tuck, the owner, cares very much as the attention to detail is apparent. The third floor suite has a very calming and zen feel to it - lots of light, a small patio for yoga, meditation, or reading, and a large roof top terrace with an ocean view - great for watching the sunset. It is very comfortable and super clean. The kitchen is well equipped too. The middle floor apartment is perfect for a long term stay (I stayed two weeks). It has more of a traditional Mexican feel, with a huge patio that expands the full width of the apartment. We lived out on the patio as there are lounge chairs and a dining table. It too had a nice size kitchen and a very comfortable bed. Both spaces are private and we felt very secure and safe. The owner was super helpful, and I cannot think of any thing that she has not already thought of to make Casa Juanita any nicer than it already is!

Very relaxing week at Casa Juanita amid a gorgeous tropical garden and tastefully decorated rooms in a quiet neighborhood of beautiful homes. And only a 5 mn walk to the main plaza. Look no further.
