Our casa features an architecturally designed mission motif with unique surprises throughout. 200 year old doors, 10 foot ceilings, antiques and artifacts from all over Mexico enhance the feeling of tranquility and relaxation. The casa is a very large two bedroom with lower and upper levels that divide into two separate living areas. Both are very private from one another each with separate entrances and staircases. This is a uniquely designed casita/apartment above the owner's home. The view is spectacular and the area is very quiet except for the interesting birds. We especially appreciated the owner's help and cooperation in lending us some extra dishes and kitchenware when we decided to have a dinner party.

My wife and I had an awesome week at Casa Susana in Sayulita. We made very few plans, and let each day take care of itself. We both work long hours, so getting away where time and plans were not important was an amazing experience. We highly reccommend that you do the same.

Each morning started out pretty much the same - whale watching as we leisurely sipped coffee on the expansive terrace. What a great way to start the day! The rest of the day was either spent right there on that beautiful terrace relaxing with a good book, or off on some fun adventure. In either case, Casa Susana was the perfect location - a short trek downhill to restaurants, shops, market, bus stop, and the town center, and only steps away from what seemed to be our own private beach (didn't need a car to get around). The owners John and Susan were great hosts, and gave us lots of helpful information and tips about Sayulita and the surrounding area - from great restaurants (Duan Juan's) to walking trails to the fish market in La Cruz or the great beaches at Punta Mita and Chacala. John can provide airport transportation and a supply stop on the way to Sayulita - this additional service is well worth it. We definitely recommend Casa Susana to anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing place to call home.

My boyfriend and I visited Sayulita for the first time Thanksgiving 2011 and so quickly fell in love with the people, the area, the food, the shopping and the surf that we were planning our trip back before we had even left. Thanksgiving 2012 came and we decided to rent a house for our second trip; Casa de Susana. The location, the view, the owners Susan and John, and most importantly, the memories were more than we could have asked for.
We rented the top part of the home that sat high up on the hill and was one big open room that over looked Sayulita Beach. We had an outdoor kitchen and huge patio which made entertaining some friends we had met the prior year along with some new friends really convenient and fun. Our bathroom was the best; huge with a private outdoor shower and another outdoor patio area that had beautiful sunsets. The room had fans, which was more than enough for a comfortable stay, no aC was necessary. Casa de Susana also had room to park our golf cart, something we highly recommend to get when visiting the area, for convenience and fun.
Susan and John, were extremely welcoming, and helpful beyond any expectation. They made restaurant suggestions that did not disappoint and took the time to get to know us. When I stepped on a sea urchin and my boyfriend attempted to remove the spikes from my foot, a painful process, Susan brought us first aid supplies and recommended a doctor in town. We really felt at home and plan to stay at Casa de Susana again. -

We just returned from our trip to Sayulita and our wonderful stay at Casa Susana. Everything was perfect. The spacious accomodation, large king bed, quality linens, great location, and best of all spectacular views. Our hosts were warm and helpful. This is luxury accommodation in the best part of Sayulita within walking distance to everything. We went to sleep to the sound of waves crashing and woke each morning feeling pampered and relaxed. We cannot wait to return. Thank you John and Susan!

We just returned from a fabulous trip to Sayulita and Casa Susana. The views from this beautiful casa are amazing. You've got the ocean on one side and the forest on another, it's quiet and very private, and the owners are very helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Loved this place. Amazing views. Spacious and very comfortable. Loved the outside kitchen and terrace with wonderful views. I could have happily stayed here forever. Also felt private, even though it was the top floor of the house. Owners very friendly and helpful people and you don't need to see them unless you want to. Very romantic.

Austin, TexasCasa Susana is a quiet place to hideaway in peaceful Sayulita
Left on 01/12/2011 for a stay in January 2011
Casa Susana provided a peaceful ambiance for our week stay in Sayulita. We watched the sunset from many different places in our room and on our balcony and we were gently greeted by the sunrise through a multitude of colors. We had all of the comforts; dual showers, comfortable king-sized bed, a safe, a big bottle of water and a stereo iPod dock. Casa Susana even has their own friendly canines to visit when the owners are staying on the first floor. One even accompanied us on hikes in the jungle and trips to the beach. Casa Susana is a wonderful place to stay for a couple in need of a quiet place to stay while visiting this wonderful little town.

Casa Susana is an amazing place to stay in Sayulita. My fiance and I had the time of our lives and the location was perfect for us. It's not too far from town, but just far enough to where you can enjoy peace and quiet. The sunsets and ocean views are absolutely incredible...we'll never forget them! Also, the housekeepers, Javier and Monica, and very friendly and easy to talk to! Thanks John and Susan!
