Description from the owner
Casa Maravilla - loosely translated as "Wonderful House". And it is. It's a circular design with surprises at every view and yet very tranquil. This private haven has great trees, garden, and outdoor spaces. Perfect for bird-watching. There are three bedrooms - two up and one down w/separate entrance. Two full baths, two half baths. Small roof top pool. The views are terrific - ocean, sunsets, jungle - a perfect location in the quiet north side of town - A shady little haven and just a block and a half from the beach and a 10 minute walk from the charming village of Sayulita.

San Francisco, CaliforniaBeautifully designed and decorated; lovely open-air living; help
Left on 05/08/2013 for a stay in April 2013
My four friends and I were surprised by how beautiful this house is. As others have described, the circular design is unique. I wasn't sure if it would be Disneyland-cheesy or nice; it was gorgeous, livable, well-designed, and beautifully decorated as well. What a treasure.
I give it four stars, however, as one of the beds on the main level is hardly suitable for 2 people. It's a 'matrimonio,' much smaller than a U.S. queen and hence not comfortable for two americans unless they are miniature-sized and like each other a whole lot. Given the size of that bed, I think the house really only sleeps 5, which is what we had, luckily.
Also, be forewarned that during the week you will be awakened by the children and (worse) principal of the school next door down the hill. Unfortunately the school has a loudspeaker system through which a male voice counting calisthenics could be heard every morning starting about . . . I don't know what time, but too early for those of us on vacation.
That said, the house is a gem and we really really enjoyed staying there. Everything about the house is so comfortable and well-thought out. I've never seen a rental house with such beautiful and appropriate (local art) decor. -

Calgaryunique jungle casa in magical sayulita
Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Very unique home built into a tree! The home was clean and had a lot of room. It looked breathtaking at night. The owner was fantastic to deal with as was the manager, cleaning lady & driver. Having boogy boards and umbrellas for us to use over our stay was appreciated! We were not comfortable sleeping in the bottom room as it is "separate" from main house so we all stayed in the main house. The deck and wading pool seemed bigger from the photos but it was still very nice. Take Michaels suggestions for places to eat they were all amazing!

This house has it all! The design of this place is fantastic-what a piece of art.Relaxing,inviting,whimsical,homey..you have everything you need. It is close enough in where you can walk to everything, far enough if you crave a more quite night.Ask Mitch-he is right next door-and he can help you with any recommendations for your time in beautiful Sayulita. The pool on the roof is perfect for your morning wake up where you will be created by a wide variety of amazing birds..also a great place to hang out with friends and cool off after a long day in the amazing sun.I miss it already and cannot wait to go back!

St. Catharines, OntarioMaravilla a must to stay
Left on 02/13/2012 for a stay in January 2012
This was our fourth Sayulita vacation and without a doubt, the most memorable. We were a family group consisting of six adults (3 couples) and the house was the perfect fit...allowing us to vacation together and also providing privacy for everyone. The house itself, is truly unique... the architural design, along with nice and comfortable furnishings ensured a relaxing stay. The home is extremely well equipped, everything was modern and clean. We had all the utencils needed to prepare meals at home and were a short walk away from beach eateries and a short walk to the town plaza where we ate at some fabulous restaurants. The location is totally private and as you are lounging around the rooftop pool you feel as if you are truly in a jungle paradise, the tropical vegetation, entertaining iguanas and the peacefulness of nature. Everything about our stay was perfect and everyone involved in the rental were helpful and accommodating. A beautful home in paradise.

Calgary, AlbertaChristmas in Sayulita
Left on 01/17/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We spent Christmas, with our adult children, at Casa Maravilla in Sayulita. We enjoyed the spaciousness, decor, privacy and the Casa's great location. Just a short walk to the quieter north-end beach, yet only a flat 10 minute stroll to the vibrant town center with restaurants and stores en route. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed, although other than morning coffee we did not use the kitchen facilities as the dining options in Sayulita are absolutely fantastic. Sayulita is a very safe and friendly town and Casa Maravilla was a wonderful place to call home during our stay. Thanks to Micheal and angela, the owners, who made the on-line rental so easy and informative and Lupe, our maid, who took care of us during our stay. The on-line pictures are a true representation. A note to travelers when booking accommodation in Sayulita - many places are indeed close to town, yet they are located up rather steep hills - Casa Maravilla, is, a flat easy stroll to town and back!

It's difficult to put into words how restful and tranquil our stay was at Casa Maravilla. Brilliantly designed, the house is perched on a hillside and hidden in the trees. It has a very private feeling and at the same time beautiful views of the ocean and hillsides. Open the windows while you're cooking dinner and a soothing ocean breeze blows through the house. We spent many days just laying on the hammock, reading on the roof under the palapa, and chilling in the pool. The town is charming and the beaches are fabulous, but the best part of our stay was the time we spent at Casa Maravilla. I only hope I can make this an annual pilgrimage, it is paradise.

We loved the villa. A really atmpospheric and comfortable space, great for kicking back and relaxing. Central but quiet and just an easy few minutes to the beautiful beach. Bedrooms very comfortable. Good a/C and nice mattresses/bedding. The top floor is ideal for hanging out either for a cool-off in the plunge pool or for having a drink after dinner.
Ticks all the boxes...would recommend to anyone.
