Fredericton CanadaGreat stay in Sayulita
Left on 03/07/2013 for a stay in January 2013
My wife, 4 month old daughter and I stayed at longboard heaven for a month starting on Jan 24th. Larry was very responsive when making our reservation and provided us with lots of great information about Sayulita. We really enjoyed our stay and became friends with Sergio who is the other owner of the property. Sergio went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great stay in Sayulita and being connected to a friendly local made our stay that much better.
The location is amazing and you can be anywhere in town in minutes on foot. It's great value for the affordable price. -

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Longboard Heaven. We ended up in the Garden Bungalow because the Oceanview was already taken. Booking was effortless and the owners could not have been any more helpful in planning our stay. Our 9 month old loved the indoor/outdoor setup, as did we. This place is perfect if you are looking for something with basic amenities, close to town. It's maybe 300m from your room to the main square in town! All of that said, it is basic and I can definitely see how certain people may not appreciate that. We loved it and already have another, longer visit penciled in on our calendar. Oh, and the host, Sergio, was about the most genuinely friendly/helpful/chill person that I've ever met. If you are the type that will be taking the public bus from the airport, eating at taco stands, grilling out on the wood-fire grill at LH, buying your cervezas at the market, and Diy-ing a sunshade at the beach, this is the place for you... If not, you will still enjoy LH but it's not a luxury all-inclusive; it's how you do a week for 2.5 people for under $700USD...
Two tips: the public bus is a very cool cultural experience but don't be the tourists with full-size suitcases - if you didn't carry-on, find a different way or you'll feel like an idiot (at least you should); and LH has free laundry so feel free to pack light... -

EdmontonGreat place in a great town!

We stayed in the garden bungalow and the heavenly suite and enjoyed both. The outdoor kitchen in the garden bungalow was perfect for making breakfast and simple lunches to enjoy in the outdoor dining area. The property is located just far enough up Gringo Hill that you don't hear too much of the late night music from the bars. Sergio was incredibly helpful and made us feel at home. We will definitely be back!

Truckee CAClean cute place, but smelled moldy
Left on 01/29/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We stayed in the Treehouse suite. Not sure if the others are any better, but all the sheets and towels smelled musty and moldy. Not a very relaxing stay. Just glad we were only booked in for 2 nights. Also, a few signs on the building about where the differents suites are would be good. We walked in on another guest by mistake because we couldn't tell if it was "reception" or the host apt. We definitely couldn't tell which of the 3 gates led to our place.

Owner
Thank you for your review. First of all, I would like to apologize. I am sorry you didn't mention this to us, so that we could have addressed this issue for you during your stay. It is our intention to always maintain the highest level of cleanliness for all of our units. We will be re-stocking our linen supply in March. In addition, we will also address the issue of signage on our buildings to ensure our clients will have no issues finding their way around Longboard Heaven.

Just want to start off by saying Longboard Heaven is just that!. Centrally located up the hill from the square, quiet and secluded. Sergio, is the man. He will take care of anything you need while staying here. As for the price of the rental...can't freakin beat it. Stay here and tell me I'm wrong.

Atlanta, GeorgiaExcellent accommodations

The place was roomy, very nicely decorated, and very clean and comfortable. Beds were clean and comfortable as well as pillows. It was excellently stocked (kitchen/bath). The only part we didn't like was that the beach would have been a longer walk than I (with a bad leg) could have done, but that was not a real problem as we did have a car. Sergio, the live-in caretaker was very helpful (even helped us find beer to buy when we got stuck without on the Election Weekend which does not allow alcohol sales. The bottled water cooler was something we didn't expect and everything worked. The owners were also very helpful and we would not hesitate to recommend or stay there in the future. The view was nice too. It was an excellent value !!

The whole process of booking the property was easy and efficient. Larry gave us great directions of how to get to and from the airport to his property. Sergio, an owner and the caretaker, was gracious and helpful. He had a great recommendation for horseback riding with Rancho Manuel.
Our room, the Heavenly Suite, was breezy, bright and comfortable. The view from our veranda was spectacular. The kitchen is well equipped and filtered water is provided. The garden was well-cared for with an amazing and huge umbrella tree. An added bonus, since we had a toddler, was the use of the laundry room.
We are already planning our next trip to Sayulita and we will definitely stay at Longboard Heaven! So should you! -

Left on 03/07/2012 for a stay in February 2012
This is not a 5-star hotel, but is a quaint bungalow with a fully equipped open-air kitchen, a view of the ocean, cool sea breezes, and a beautiful garden with a huge tree that attracts birds and iguanas. Sergio lives on-site and is very friendly and helpful. It is 2 blocks from the town plaza. I have stayed here 3 times, for a week each time.
