Description from the owner

Designed to coddle 4 couples, or a family, with panaramic 360 views of ocean and Jungles...whales leaping..birds.. amazing.. waves crashing in stereo, but quietly in the not far distance. A "man in the moon" window.. yoga on top of the world? it IS possible! Do laps in the "neck" lap lane of the Picasso- "head" swimming pool, where the lips are a love seat with jets to sooth your back.. maybe needing a massage from a spill on the surf board earlier.. only a 5 minute walk to the Plaza and main beach... jungle walk to Muertos beach takes 10... Anthony Gaudi, comes to mind for those who know him.. just a little more tasteful.. A Chac...Read more

    Additional Location Information

VillaPCaso is a 5 to 7 minute walk from downtown plaza and main beach. Going south up calle Ninos Heroes from calle Revolution, take a right turn on the 4th street you come to, which is dirt at the start, then changes to cobblestone. Follow to the top of a quiet peaceful hill, tucked away from the loud "fiesta" atmosphere of the pueblo. If you don't feel like walking, a cab from the plaza should not be more than 40 to 50 pesos. The villa is in the jungle, and has amazing 360 degree jungle and ocean views, great for watching/listening to the birds year round, and is also a great perch for spotting the whales "blowing kisses to you" with there spouts, or leaping for joy!

Lovely stay in a unique home!

Left on 03/31/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We stayed at Villa Picasso with my family of four, my parents and my sister and her husband. The home held all of us very comfortably! We spent 90S% of our time while at the house, outside, enjoying a game of cards at the table or an incredible meal cooked by Pepe and his wife Kitty. The view was fantastic and the grounds private. We found the walk into town very reasonable but were glad to have rented a golf cart for my elderly folks. The rest of the family found themselves tooling around in the cart as well because it was so fun and easy! The colorful and unique architecture and gorgeous plants & trees surrounding were unforgetable. Our bedroom was sweet with outdoor private showers for all! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Our week long stay was perfect! The accommodations were wonderful, and Tom could not be a more gracious and attentive host! Town is close enough to walk to the beach or to take an evening stroll; and Sayulita itself is well worth a visit.

      One of a kind home!

Wow, what an incredible time we had in Sayulita, staying at Villa Pcaso. It was exactly what we needed and what a vacation should be, and everything we needed/wanted was there waiting for us. The views are amazing and we saw whales jumping out of the ocean every day!! Pepe cooked for us twice and both meals were the best we had the whole time we were in Mexico. The owner, Tom, made us feel perfectly at home and was quick to respond to all of our emails and questions. We're already planning to return!!

      Paradise with a great view.

Left on 01/15/2012 for a stay in December 2011

My wife, daughter and I stayed at Villa Pcaso with some friends of ours and their two kids.

The house is beautifully designed. Every detail was very thought out. The bathrooms are truly one-of-a-kind and unlike anything I'd ever seen. Artworks in themselves. The bedrooms were comfortable with good beds. The whole house is well maintained by the friendly Pepe - the housekeeper that takes care of the house and many of our needs as well. Along with Tom, the live-in owner, they are great people and by the end of our stay had become part of our family. Relaxing by the pool, on the rooftop deck or in the spacious, airy main living space was how we spend many a day.

The location is great. This was our second time in Sayulita. The first time we stayed in an apartment right in the Plaza. Villa Pcaso is located a 3-5 minute walk (actually) from the Plaza. A convenient location close to the Plaza was an important feature for us and it was no problem walking into town every morning for breakfast or to grab groceries for dinner.

      Breathtaking and Imaginative

Left on 10/27/2011 for a stay in May 2011

The host and designer of this house was a joy to do business with. He was kind, inviting, and informative.

Upon arrival he gave me the tour of the whole house. With each turn I was in awe. This house seemed to come from a dream.

Inspiration of Gaudi, Picasso, and Dali as well as Tom Mcelhenney's own professional and artistic touch can be found throughout the home. The theme was colorful, tasteful, fun, open, and relaxing. Have a seat in each room and you will notice the length of thought he put into each detail of the layout of the home.

The home sits at top of one of the hills giving you a view over the town, bay, and nearby hills. Each room, be it bedroom, kitchen, or bathroom, comes with a beautiful view. I highly suggest having your coffee in the morning on level 3 or 4 of the house.

Each room is comfortable, spacious, cool, and quiet from the rest of the house.

All the necessary kitchen amenities were there.

      I felt safe.

      I truly enjoyed my stay.

The house was perfect for our large group. The separate spaces were very private even with no curtains. The outdoor shower had an incredible view of the ocean. Posh house, but still funky. Lovely!

Super Cool House with views views views!

Left on 09/11/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Villa Pcaso is the coolest, most wonderful place I've ever stayed in. Tom is a landscape designer who has put great deal of thought and creativity into designing this gorgeous and whimsically-themed house, with views of ocean and jungle from every vantage point, little nooks and crannies with views of their own, not to mention the luscious landscaping with mango trees and resident iguanas. Even while washing dishes you can see the ocean and jungle at the same time. You literally can't be anywhere in the house without seeing several different views of ocean, town, jungles, hills, etc.

Spacious, comfortable, well-appointed interiors, living room that completely opens up to the large front porch overlooking the super long pool with ocean views, 3 levels with panoramic views, outdoor bar next to the master suite where, again, you can see the ocean and the jungle hillsides simultaneously.

And I especially loved the indoor/outdoor showers. The best one is upstairs next to the master suite, where Tom has strategically placed windows/portholes and mirrors so that you can see yourself and the jungle and the ocean all at once, plus an iguana or two living in the trees. And the master bdrm opens up to a balcony that overlooks the ocean. We had the best seat in town to watch the nightly lightening storms (tis was the season).

The groundskeeper Pepe is available for hire to cook up anything you want, especially on the large bbq grill.

I can't say enough great things about this fabulous home. It takes time to discover and appreciate all of the delightful little details Tom has built into it. It's a small walk from center of town, and there is one steep hill to reach the house, but it's not so steep until the final 10 (?) yard stretch and you get used to it after the 1st time and completely worth the views and tranquility that awaits you.

Do not hesitate to rent this stupendous place!

We really enjoyed Villa Pcaso. It's a great house with wonderful rooms and views. The kids loved the pool and we loved the 'upstairs bar' where we'd have late afternoon drinks every day. Kitty and Pepe took great care of us. Pepe is a fantastic chef!

Villa Pcaso is a Magical Vacation Home!

Left on 08/20/2011 for a stay in January 2010

This home is truly spectacular! I surprised my husband with a trip to Sayulita to celebrate his 40th birthday and new year's eve 2009/10. I was so lucky to book Villa Pcaso for our trip (found on sayulitalife.com)!

This is an amazing multi-level structure with sweeping panoramic views of Sayulita Bay. We spent many a morning & afternoon watching the whales spout and play, right from the comfort of the pool deck! Pablo Picasso was obviously the design inspiration here and it's done with a keen eye that makes this a house one-of-a-kind paradise. Pcaso has lush, tropical gardens that surround the property and 3 wonderful deck areas that can be utilized for sunning, lounging, yoga etc. Located on top of a hill, just a short walk from the plaza... Pcaso is high above the dust, heat and noise of town.

Tom is a gracious host and as the "unofficial mayor" of Sayulita, he has a wealth of knowledge and advice to share about the local goings-on. Def make sure you ask him about "tacos on the street", you won't be disappointed ;). I wholeheartedly recommend Villa Pcaso to anyone looking for a luxuriously cool place to stay in Sayulita, and I hope to make a return trip one day soon myself!
