Blantyre, MalawiComfortable family house in the best location on the Cape
Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in December 2011
Scarborough is the loveliest village on the Cape --- off the beaten track, away from the hurly-burly of the larger towns, and very quiet and peaceful. We have stayed in a number of different houses in Scarborough, and we think that Judy's place is the best for a family holiday. The location is perfect: at the end of a road, 5 minutes walk from the beach, and with magnificent views. The house is very comfortable for a family of six, and stylish without being too posh. Judy's care and hospitality is superb! The only drawback is that the atlantic is cold --- you will need wetsuits.

the house is cosy, spacious and well equipped .the location is right on the beach, from the upper floor bedroom you may watch the stars , listen to the melody of the waves and enjoy spectacular views of beach and cape flora. the terrace is spacious and we spent a lot of time there .after 12 days there,we felt relaxed and our batteries were "recharged". we both can highly recommend this house to relief from stressful jobs.internet access is possible, but we preferred to live ther without it.

Wonderful quiet beach location!! Great to wind down from a busy life. We saw whales from our balcony!!
The House is comfy and welcoming, and right on the beach. It is well placed to use as a base for exploring the whole of the Cape peninsular and beyond...
Good eating nearby at the local restaurant [3 minutes walk]
Judy was very helpful, and there were no problems. Cant wait to go back again!!

I love Scarborough and I loved staying at this wonderful home. Close to Cape Town but off the beaten path enough that it feels like your own private beach getaway. Everything there is well taken care of, and has a cozy and home like feel. We were able to sit back and relax into the comforts of this beautiful home within moments of our arrival. Definitely worth a visit! I come from California, so have not had an opportunity to return. But would so in a minute if I were back in RSa. Enjoy your stay!

We stayed for 3 nights a few years back and the kids loved the experience of living right on the beach. My photographer daughter took loads of amazing photos of the waves crashing onto the rocks and the hypnotic ever changing skies. A great place for a relaxing break away from commercialisation (there's not much in the town in the way of amenities and thats the way the locals like it).
We read by the log fires at night and fell asleep to the sound of the waves. The house itself is simple but adequate - great value for money.

Blantyre, MalawiThe best house on the Cape for a young family
Left on 03/22/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We have been going to the Cape Peninsula for our summer holidays for the last ten years, escaping briefly from trials and tribulations of life in Zimbabwe and Malawi.
Scarborough is an undiscovered jewel, a haven of peace and tranquility in an otherwise rather crowded peninsula. Off the beaten tourist track, just on the edge of the Cape Point National Park, a tiny village with two lovely and interesting beaches and hills behind.
We have stayed in a number of different houses in Scarborough over the years. From our perspective (a family with two young children), Judy's place is the best, and we hope to keep going there for many years to come. It combines a fabulous location, two minutes from the beach down a sandy track, with wonderful views and an artistic but very comfortable and family-friendly living environment. You will receive an excellent service and a warm welcome both from Judy (who lives in Cape Town) and from her Scarborough agent, Denise. And very fairly priced, excellent value for money.
I have only one hesitation in writing this review --- that it will make the house so popular that we will be unable to book in future years! Be warned that the sea is cold (wet-suits essential) and that you will need to stock up with food from outside the village. On the way in, Longbeach is the nearest shopping place.
