We stayed at this property early June 2012 (5 adults two toddlers: 1.5 and 2.5 yeas of age). Overall, we liked our stay but we won't rent this property again. The property is in great shape. We were able to manage the kids indoor and outdoor. Rooms were clean and comfortable and actually the sitting area off the master bed was a great help as we didn't have to have both kids in our bedroom. Kitchen is nice and has almost everything you need. Couple of items disappointed us:
1. The pictures show you a "Steam Shower". There is no such thing on the property. There is a shower downstairs but not a "steam shower". We didn't pick the place for it's steam shower feature, yet, this is not honest.
2. All the toiletry items (shampoos, lotions, conditioners, etc.) were used items. So they are using little shampoo bottles that you use in a hotel, but in the hotel, all used ones are tossed out once the guest checks out. This is miles away from hygienic. I blame this more on the property management company then the owners.
3. You are responsible for cleaning the place. This is already advertised. We stayed for 5 days. On day 3 we looked around for a vacuum and there was one in the laundry room. It was from 70s. And there was something wrong with the cord. You had to hold the cord and keep it in a certain position to be able to vacuum. They are charging good money so it would be fare to update the appliances.
4. The house is on an automated control system. It runs the hot water tank over the night (perhaps to keep the cost of energy low) and then it is off during the day. We have two little toddlers and had to use the hot water during the day. First night, when we took the kids to take their bedtime shower, the water was ice cold. We're lucky they didn't caught cold. Again, they are charging good money for rent and trying to save nickel and dime is just cheap. Had we known there is such a problem with the water heater we wouldn't have rented the place.
So if you have small kids, beware. This might not be the best place! But if you are all grown ups or having teenager kinds, you may enjoy the place. The lake view, fire pits , and the outside patio are really nice.Response from Cascade Vacation Rentals, LLC - 09/20/2012

Thanks for your review. We do apologize for the lack of steam shower. The lower level shower is fully enclosed and does produce steam with a hot shower, but does not have a steam shower setting. We have changed our information both on the web and will do so in our next catalog.
We talked to the cleaner about the small shampoos and conditioners. This is not something that is normally offered with our rentals, but this owner does currently provide these items for their guests. The cleaner does throw away the used products sitting out, and has now gone through the baskets of the small products and taken out any that had been put back by previous guests into the baskets.
We do ask guests to keep the homes tidy, but we never ask our guests to vacuum or do any other cleaning besides their dishes.
Unlike a hotel, our homes can not offer unlimited hot water. When 5 adults take a shower, you may run out of hot water. We are sorry that your children had to take a cold bath.
We are always available for our renters to contact us day or night. It is nice to know issues with our rentals during our guests stays so we can fix the issues immediately.
