      The best vacation ever !

Left on 09/01/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Absolutely no complaints, perfect clean cabin , location was great. We had cabins that were close by but there was only one other couple in one of the cabins and it was nice a quiet. Cascade vacation rentals made it simple to grab the key and go. Were already making plans for next year to come right back just for a little longer stay !

      Great location - Great View

Left on 07/11/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We had very enjoyable three night stay in Superior Reflections #1. The location makes the place - its right on the beach! Every window in the cabin has a wonderful view and you can fall asleep to the sound of waves. The furnishings are decent and the kitchen is supplied with all needed utensils, pots and pans, etc. After reading previous reviews, I was pleased to see the water dispenser in place, which provided all the water we needed for drinking and cooking. While not luxurious , the cabin is obviously well cared for and has been recently remodeled. The setting is quiet and relatively private, with only a couple of cabins in the nearby area. The cabin is only 30 minutes from Grand Marais and just a couple of minutes from great local cafes in Tofte and Lutsen. There is also a gas station minutes away with all the last minute items you may need. Several state parks are close and provide good hiking opportunities. Also, the property management company was easy to book with and the descriptions provided were very accurate. Overall we had a great stay and would consider returning.

      Best vacation ever!

Left on 06/28/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to this cabin. Nicely appointed and very comfortable. Great beach access! We loved sitting on the beach watching a pair of loons watch us while enjoying a campfire. Lovely views all around. We were concerned that other cabins were too close, but that wasn't the case. We felt like we were alone--just what we wanted. We especially enjoyed all the info provided about area businesses. We found new restaurants and even some maple syrup from the recommendations. We have been in the area several times, but this cabin made it our best vacation ever. We hope to return!

      A superior, Lake Superior experience.

Left on 06/04/2012 for a stay in May 2012

The cabin had a great view of the lake, able to have easy access to the rocky beach, loved picking rocks, watching my dog play a bit in the waves, having a bon fire at night on the beach.

      Superior Reflections 1

This cabin based on my many visits to the North Shore (mostly at Sugar Beach)was very average. The proximity to the lake was good and the cabin was decorated well particularly the artwork. The quality/design of the furnishings was good and nicely appointed. What I didn't like was that this cabin is in plain site of the neighbors, there was lots of goose droppings in the front lawn and perhaps a large dog or other animal dropping right by the front door and i was surpised that a cork screw wasn't part of the kitchen's inventory. Also as was noted the water taste is very poor, but thanks for the drinking water in the frig. One other thing, in the freezer was one empty ice tray and i would suggest a few more trays for future guests.

      Perfect Weekend Getaway

Left on 06/08/2011 for a stay in June 2011

This cabin was absolutely perfect for my husband and I and our 2 dogs. It's so close to the lake that it's hard not to nap when you have the windows open and you hear the waves crashing. The location is ideal not only because you get the best view of Lake Superior but also because you're close to all the activities. No one was in the other cabins the weekend we were there so we had the whole beach to ourselves. The TV seemed to only work if you wanted to watch VHS movies (which we didn't). We couldn't have been more thankful about this because it forced us to just relax and enjoy our time. We would definitely love to make this our new spot on the North Shore.

      Too alone

Left on 06/01/2011 for a stay in May 2011

I went by myself but wish someone had been at one of the other cabins - totally alone. There is not much as far as eating places without traveling at least 8-10 miles - would like something closer. Now heard that Satellite is financially strapped and could close. The cabin was okay but it really lacks places to put clothes such as drawers or closets or clothes hooks - should be added! Also, water is awful. Two gallons is not enough for drinking and/or coffee if you have four people staying there. I used to stay at these cabins when they were owned by the Gundersons and the water at that time was very good. What happened? Also, I really think the price is too high for location, size and amenities (if you can call them that). No restaurant nearby - must go to Tofte and no gas or groceries close. There are cabins managed by you in Grand Marais that are located closer to towns that are rented at a lower rate and have the same or better facilities. You really need to consider lowering the price. I would recommend Cascade Vacation Rentals but not sure about Superior Reflections even though I will be coming back at least twice this year (already booked).

Thanks for your review. We will speak to the owner about providing more water for our guests. As far as places to eat, the Schroeder Bakery is 2 miles away and serves bakery items, pizza, calzones, soup, salads and sandwiches. The town of Tofte is only 4 miles away and offers the Coho Cafe and Bluefin Grille - both are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The town of Tofte also includes a small grocery store, 2 gas stations, a liquor store, gift shop, and bike/ski rental shop. We hope you will have a better stay next time and feel free to contact us if you need more information about dining options in our area. There is also the area guide book located in every cabin with restaurants listed by location and small description of menu items. The book also lists many menus across our area.

A nice quiet location just steps from the lake. A good swimming area if the water isn't too cold.

An Overnight Drive Turns into a 6 Day Getaway

Left on 03/07/2011 for a stay in October 2010

We didn't plan on a mini vacation, but we were having so much fun we just kept driving.!! I had been to the North Shore before and wanted my husband to have the chance to see its beauty.
I also had rented from Superior Properties in the past and was happy to find out that Cascade had taken over.
In the past it had always been a great rental company to work with. It was also very nice to find a pet friendly property on the Lake. Our little "Nellie" just loved the beach. The cabin was very comfortable,...we found the campfires on the beach to be so relaxing. It was nice that the beach was easily accessable, my Husband is disabled and still likes to enjoy life.
We plan to visit the Shore again this spring, and will be calling Cascade for some fresh ideas!
