PortlandWonderful family 5 day get-together.
Left on 10/20/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We have stayed at Sand and Sea for several years and always try to get unit 602-3 on the top floor .The family has grown and now we need two units and it seems that we all gather to socialize in this unit because of its comfort, size and it is super clean. The staff at Sand and Sea are always so nice and helpful in answering questions and just being there if we need anything. A huge plus is the Pacific Ocean viewed right from our front window

Left on 10/12/2012 for a stay in September 2012
This condo was amazing! The view was spectacular! The fact that we could have our dog with us was amazing and she had such a great time at the beach. The balcony is so much fun to sit out on and watch the ocean and even just leave the giant sliding glass door open so you can hear the waves inside the entire condo. The furniture could use some updating but otherwise the beds were very comfortable which is what matters most. Love, Love, Love it and we will be back next year!

Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Management and staff are great, but since condo is pet friendly, the carpet has stain spots and the entire place could use an update! Has a marvelous view of the promenade at Seaside however, which lessens problems with the quality of the room.

Olalla, Wa.Outstanding View of the Ocean and a very comfortable Condo
Left on 09/05/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Excellent service from the front desk, housekeeping, and handyman - The Condo is very spacious for 3 people - would not reccomend more (we had 5) due to the bed size in the 2nd bedroom & the new couch is not as comfortable as the previous one in this unit - The view is fabulous and the location to the Prom & town is unbeatable - would of been nice if they had cleaned off the balcony glass - it was very dirty- the plastic ceiling panel in the kitchen was cracked & had a piece missing - the worse issue was the showers - no pressure! Couldn't rinse the soap out of our hair - it was faster to fill up a glass of water to rinse...For the daily cost of this unit (about $300.00 /day)I expected everything to work properly, be clean, & not have anything broken. The in refer icemaker was great! The mirrors in the room make it seem like the Ocean is right there no matter where you look! Loved the kitchen & cooking facilities but the condo itself needs the "popcorn" ceiling replaced & it could use a good paint job inside...

Left on 08/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Stayed here with family and booked 4 days at Sea and Sand Condo Rm 602-3. This is an older condo as it does show its age. It was very clean for a pet friendly condo, but noticed cracks all over the ceiling walls and corners. The kitchen was disappointing. I don't know if there was anything wrong with the stove, but the burners and oven cooked things too slowly since it wouldn't heat up properly. I couldnt even cook anything properly here. The kitchen cupboards had handles that we're loose and falling off. The tv had cable but the channels were hard to watch and very grainy. There was free wifi to connect my laptop. The beds were comfortable to sleep in. The bathrooms were ok. The tubs had water damage to them, and the master bath tub doesn't drain properly. Also had difficulty figuring out how to use the master bath shower. There should be a small note/tip on how to work that master shower. Multiple family members had difficulty trying to operate the shower, so I know it wasn't just me. They do not give extra garbage bags. I wish I would have known that when I threw away garbage bags at 11 pm and then learning that we had none to replace them, and the front desk was closed. One thing I do not like here is that they do not recycle. I had bags full of empty beer glass bottles to recycle and found out that they dont recycle glass. The garbage shoots smell really bad like rotting fish. Going thru the parking lot when you pass the garbage, it also smells like rotting fish. They need to fix that as its a major turn off. I liked the secure feel to the area. After hours, the only way to get access to your condo is by using the security key. The best thing about this place is the location. It is literally steps to the beach and the scenery is amazing. One thing to be aware is if you rent in the summer, There are no windows to open except for the sliding balcony door. It's unbearable staying here in the daytime b/c it's too hot. All in all my family enjoyed our stay here.

We had a wonderful stay in Room 602-3. The view of the ocean and boardwalk is fantastic and the location is very convenient for walking to downtown or to the beach. It's a great place to stay and we have been making an annual trip here for 24 years. Never disappointed...well, maybe sometimes with the weather but never the lodging!!

Left on 07/21/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I booked this 2 bedroom unit for 3 adults and 3 young children for July 2012. The building is right on the ocean. The views were perfect. The building is older and in need of some maintenance. The unit is well furnished, especially the kitchen and living room. The bathrooms are good. The beds were moderately comfortable and the bedroom furniture is in need of updating. The location is excellent as you are right on the beach and only 2 blocks from the main attractions in Seaside. Overall, very good.

We have stayed at Sand & Sea several times and have always had a great experience. The condo's are always clean & nicely furnished.
This particular condo could do with a lounger rather then just the large coach but other then that the condo was great. Everything we needed was there & made for a great 4 day vacation for our family.
The view was magnificent.
Cannot say enough about the staff at Sand & Sea! They are always friendly and helpful. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. -

We have been staying at the Sand and Sea for many years now, usually in October but also at other times of the year. We have always found the staff very friendly and willing to help out in any way they can. The room was in good shape and ready for our stay. The recent renovation of the outside and the windows has made a big difference in comfort and quietness. The outside looking back from the ocean looks 100% better. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for our stay. We will be coming back to the Sand and Sea for many years to come.

This is a weekend we look forward to every year. We've had 602-3 every year. Like the room very much with the big table and bar counter. The bathtub in the master bath, however needs to have the drain cleaned more regularly. There was gross hair in the drain that wouldn't allow the water to drain well. Icky

Left on 05/26/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Definitely disappointed that we were not forwarned there would be ongoing construction noise throughout our stay and also that the covered scaffolding blocked a significant amount of our view. The condo met our basic requirements. We enjoyed the expanse of windows, the roomsize, the fireplace and balcony. The promimity to the beach and the prom was excellent. On the downside the kitchen and bathrooms were dated. The tubs needed immediate grouting to prevent water damage. Also, the shower curtain wasn't not long enough to keep the water in the tub. The floor had to be wiped up each time we used the shower.
Response from Sand & Sea - 09/22/2011

Thank you for letting us know about the issue with the shower
curtain and the tub needing to be grouted. We are sorry for the

I love staying at Sand and Sea. We have gone for over 5 years now. This is the first time in this unit and we were very disappointed. It is in dire need of paint, carpet, and living room furniture, even the cupboards could use a coat of paint or something! It was awful to see water leakage marks along the ceiling in the rooms. The view is fantastic and the service from the front desk was very friendly and efficient. I will not choose this one again as we have stayed in other units that were so much nicer.

Portland, OrLeast favorite of Sand and Sea condos
Left on 05/09/2011 for a stay in April 2011
This is the first time we have been disappointed with a condo
at the Sand and Sea which is our favorite place to stay in Seaside. The living room furniture was uncomfortable about the quality of a cheap motel. There is no wi-fi, the cable will not reach any of the living room furniture. It was necessary to move a diningroom chair to avoid sitting on the floor. A big part of the beach experience is relaxing in comfy furniture and enjoying the view. Not possible in 603-2. But if would be easy to fix the problems. -

Twin FallsAwesome location and views but building is showing its age.
Left on 11/28/2010 for a stay in August 2010
2010 is the second straight year my family has stayed here (different room last year but same floor). Our room was on the 6th floor both years facing the beach and the ocean, and we really enjoyed that. It was great to have a cup of coffee in the morning out on the balcony and listen to the waves (too much fog to actually see them). Last year we saw a pod of whales from the room! This property is old and shows its age, but the rooms are nice and comfortable. We felt the price was decent given the location, but would have expected more if it wasn't located right on the beach. We stayed here 2 years in a row mainly because of the location and the fact this is one of the few properties we could find in Seaside that was located well, could sleep 5 or 6, and was available when we needed it. The staff was very nice, but they're availability was limited. The pool is ok, but had too much chlorine one of the days we were there, which disappointed the kids a bit. I would recommend this property for families if you want to be right on the beach, near the turn around, and don't have unlimited resources.
Response from Sand & Sea - 12/01/2010
Manager
Thanks for taking the time to review your stay.
You are right about the building needing a face-lift. We are planning to do just that starting the first of the year. First new windows and then in the spring, weather permitting, we will be painting the building.

Beautiful Views
Seattle, WaGreat Views!!!
Left on 08/26/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Love this area! The condo over looks the ocean through floor to ceiling windows. Completely breath taking. This is an older unit so the window collects moisture which obstructs the view. Also, there is no a/C so if you are in the unit on a hot day, you have to cover the window to stay cool. It gets a bit toasty. Also, they don't provide detergent so you must bring your own. Swimming pool is a bit small but go enough for young children. Overall, it was a great weekend getaway and we intend to return.

Left on 08/18/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The location is phenomenal! The view is spectacular! The room was clean for the most part. The cabinets could use a good scrub down as they were greasy/dirty where you grab to open. The glass on the balcony railing was pretty dirty as well. We had a problem with the sink drain in one bathroom and called to have repaired but no one ever came to fix. The kitchen was well stocked. The furniture inside was good. The chairs on the balcony were cheap platic chairs. Would expect a little bit better quality chairs on the deck. Beds were very comfortable. We would come back to this unit for the location and the view. Had a great time!

Very nice large unit. Everything worked and the kitchen was well-supplied. We were amazed at how quiet it was too - not a lot of noise from the adjacent units or street noise. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable, not one of those hard hotel beds. The only complaint we had is the cleaning staff had forgotten to vaccuum the unit as there was dog hair all over the living room carpet. However, the staff was extrordinarily friendly and helpful. They were quick to resolve any issues we had.

The rental was wonderfully located. It was steps away from the main street in Seaside and also had easy beach access. The unit contained a well-stocked kitchen, a washer/dryer, and had TVs and a DVD player. Our stay was very comfortable and we enjoyed curling up by the fireplace to play family games or read. The best feature of this unit was the phenomenal ocean view which was enhanced by a floor-to-ceiling wall mirror in the dining room. This is my new favorite place to stay when visiting Seaside.

The unit was well stocked, clean and spacious. We even hosted a cocktail party and had plenty of room for 20 adults plus numerous kids. We did have a wonderful time and enjoyed staying at Sand and Sea. We only wish there was hot water in the master bedroom, more garbage bags and dish washing soap (felt like you were tight on these) The dishwasher leaked, had to put a paper towel on the floor under the corner.

We have stayed in Seaside, on and off, for the past 55 years. Last year we brought our two boys, their wives and five grandchildren. We rented two large units, ocean front on the top floor and had a grand time. Breakfast and lunch in our rooms and dinner out. Kids loved the ocean and walk to downtown amusement. We even had time for a game of cards several afternoons. A great place to stay for a family gathering with all the conveniences of home.
