Edmonton, CanadaGreat apartment, great neighbourhood!
Left on 04/06/2013 for a stay in April 2013
My husband and I stayed at the Maple (Unit a) for 4 nights while on a getaway to Seattle. We absolutely loved the location and the apartment - it's a great value for a couple - very spacious. It would be even more economical and convenient with kids or another couple, as the living room has a pull out couch and is at the opposite end of the building from the bedroom (dining area and bathroom in between). It was super easy to find, and to get the keys; everything was set up perfectly.
It was my first time in Seattle, and I was nervous at having chosen a neighbourhood away from downtown, but we could not have been happier with the area. Lovely, character filled, extremely walkable - Capitol Hill has it all. There are great restaurants, and 2 supermarkets within a few blocks of The Maple. There are also multiple buses running regularly from near the building to anywhere you'd like to go - downtown, Seattle Centre, you name it. If you like to walk, it's not that far down the hill to the major tourist areas, either. We would definitely stay here again - both at The Maple, and in Capitol Hill. -

My daughter lives in Capital Hill and I love the neighborhood, so wanted to stay close by. Everything is within walking distance. The unit is clean and cozy and the kitchen has every pot, pan or utensil a person could want or need. My daugher and I cooked "at home" several times. I unexpectedly had to stay one additional night and the owner accomodated my stay in one of the other units at the last minute!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in Marc and Madison's property, The Maples, unit B. The units are in a quiet area , but a short walk away are groceries, and a selection of good restaurants. We have a king bed at home, but slept like babies in the very comfortable queen bed located in the rear of the apt. We walked downtown on our first morning, but the bus stop is a short block away to catch buses to the downtown area. The photos on vrbo present the apartment exactly as it is. As a craftsman, I particularly enjoyed Marc's handiwork of the apartment's restoration. Answers to questions were quickly text back to assist us with local information and there is a concise guide to the area and the apartment on the kitchen table. Plan your dining and regional trips with their current selection of Seattle area magazines on the coffee table.

You simply won't find a value equal to The Maple in Capitol Hill Seattle. I've stayed here a number of times in a variety of units in the building, and they are all fantastic. The furnishings are pristine, the appliances top notch, amenities prolific, and the setting is ideal for any visit to Seattle. Easily walkable to the heart of Capitol Hill, quiet, well attended to, you will be thrilled by the owners' attention to detail and the way they manage their property and business.
The beds and baths are comfortable, the apartments spacious, and the kitchens well appointed. Just make sure you rent a relatively small car to navigate the driveway to the off street parking, which is well worth the minimal charge.
The owners are fabulous people who obviously know what they are doing and want to please. -

I loved several things about staying here. One, unlike lots of hotels, i felt a real genuine sense of kindness and hospitality from Madison, which just made everything else nicer. And she was very patient with my changing my mind several times about dates and things.
Aside form that the apartments are cheerful, clean, bright, equipped with all you need, and a very comfortable bed. I just loved the peace and quiet of the bedroom situated in the back. Really nice place to stay.
And then, you are in one of the best neighborhoods in Seattle. I love Capitol Hill. Great neighborhood feel. The QPC ? supermarket on broadway has a great wine buyer, btw, who can tell you detailed info about all the vino. Joe Cafe should be added to Madison's list of coffee places. i have been there 1x each 7 years 3x and each time its really good. Neighboorhood feel, sweet employees, and i had a fantastic butternut squash soup. But its at the north end of broadway, just off bwy on the west side across from the little theatre, so a tad further from Maple.
thanks again M and M! -

We were in the area for 12 days for a family visit in South Seattle and trade show downtown.
The apartment was centrally located, spacious , comfortable and well equipped for an extended stay. It was located in an area with restaurants, shopping and night nightlife within walking distance and yet offered the quiet needed to relax and sleep at night.
The added benefit of on site parking was a plus as parking in the Seattle area can be difficult.. However, we would deffinately recommend a small to standard car due to the narrow driveway.
Great place...we will stay again. -

Great apartment (stayed at apartment E), Madison and Mark were very kind and helpful.
Great location, and great neighborhood.
The only comment is about the parking, street parking is not suggested and paid parking in rear is available, however the entrance is narrow. If you have a medium or large car, entrance without scratching is a challenge. -

This vacation rental provided everything I needed. The location was perfect, only five blocks from my daughter and within walking distance to anything I needed or wanted. Capital Hill is a fun, eclectic neighborhood and a short bus ride to the main attractions downtown. You could actually walk downtown, but the walk home is up a huge hill! The apartment was clean, bright, roomy and comfortable. I'll definitely stay there again.

Incredible Stay
Left on 06/29/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We visited the area for the first time (from South Florida) with our teenage daughter who chose a vacation to Seattle as her 16th birthday present...
What a treat to have the Maple to come "home" to each day. The location was perfect - in a diverse neighborhood within walking distance to shops and restaurants.
The apartment was spacious, clean (I am very picky) and comfortably furnished.
I can honestly say there is not one thing I would change.
We hope to be able to visit and stay at the Maple again in the future. -

We had to find almost last minute accommodations in Seattle as our first rental became unavailable. I sent an email and less than an hour I was talking to Madison and booking our stay. She seemed really personable on the phone and that was a huge plus.
The Maple's location is perfect for people wanting to explore but don't have a car to do so. There are several bus stops near by. Unlike Memphis, the buses are utilized, clean and frequent. We took them from just about a blocks walk to UW, Green Lake and over by the Space Needle.
The whole building was great. Madison and Marc did a good job on making this place a rental. The neighborhood as a whole seems great too. It has a lot of activity in it but, unlike other cities, it always felt safe to get out and about in.
Oh, and the bed was awesome. I slept like a rock. -

I travel between Portland and Seattle monthly and am lucky to have found this amazing vacation rental.
The vintage building, located in the heart of the buzzy Capitol Hill neighborhood, is walking distance to some of my favorite restaurants and bars in the city. The owners have remodeled each unit (I've stayed in 4 of them), each is well-appointed with modern fixtures. Plus, the kitchens are stocked with basics to start your morning and end your evening.
The apartments are spacious, clean and bright. Such a bonus from staying in a stuffy hotel room without functioning windows!
These are self-catering apartments. Staying here is like living in my own neighborhood. If you're not a fan of hotel housekeeping wake-up calls, concierges, and having to eat out for every meal, this is the spot. This is like living in my own home... -

We really enjoyed our stay at the The Maple in Seattle, Wa. The apartment was plenty large for just two of us and was newly-renovated and up to date. Place was very clean and comfortable, simply but tastefully decorated. Kitchen was well-stocked with all the hardware we needed. The location is excellent; just 2 blocks from the bus stop, in a nice neighborhood (Capitol Hill) and plenty of cafes, shops and restaurants all within a several block radius. Also a small parking lot in the back if you have a car. Very comfortable bed, washer/dryer, sofa with pullout bed, TV with satellite; this place has everything you need! Check in/out was a breeze. In short, a perfect stay. Would gladly recommend or stay again next time we're in Seattle!

We've stayed here twice now and just don't even bother looking anywhere else when we're both in Seattle. The Maple is so well positioned - close to all amenities on Broadway (QVC etc) and near an excellent bus route to downtown. Last time we stayed I did the downhill walk to Pike Place from here which took about 35 minutes via the Eliot Bay Bookstore. We went to the Paramount Theatre on the Saturday night (Rock of ages - excellent ) and it was about a 15 minute walk. Madison is very helpful and the apartment is very well equipped. I just hope I can still book there after all these positive reviews!

airy apartment, nicely decorated with all the comforts of home. Stocked kitchen was nice when we wanted to stay in for meals. The mattress on the sofa bed was a bit saggy but very clean. Just a short walk to the bus. We found using public transport easier as parking in the downtown is pricy and the hills are challenging. Grocery store nearby along with restaurants. Has 2 small washers and dryers in the hallway on first and second floors. The driveway is narrow for those with a vehicle. Reasonably priced. Owners are very nice. Definitely would stay again !!

This rental was very clean and well stocked with all our needs. Best of all, it is close to downtown, with easy access via bus and cab rides around $12. Volunteer Park is a nice walk from the stay with great views of the city, and about 3 blocks away are a lot of shops and restuarants (Cap Hill). The owners leave a very informative 'pamphlet' on the dining table with bus route, grocery and other apartment/neighborhood information. I've never stayed at a rental before but had such a great experience here that I will definitely be checking out Trip advisor for future trips! Oh, and I went with two other people and they also share my enthusiasm for this rental :)

Great facilities to combat crazy jetlag in our family of three - lovely coffee, kitchen, bathroom and study. An extra bedroom would have been great for our little one, but that's our fault for only going with a 1 bedroom apartment. Laundry facilities a real help. Super comfy bed and duvet and great restaurant and bus guide. Ferry to bainbridge island a must plus lovely coffee shops in capitol hill and super volunteer park. Not a scrap of rain for Dec - bright sunshine versus arctic conditions back home in UK

Lovely apt in a nice quiet neighborhood. Owners(Madison) could not have been nicer. Very clean and comfortable with everything you need for home away from home. Several restaurants of different types within walking. Lots of info in the apt about the immediate area and Seattle. Fairly long walk to downtown but buses are very close. We had a car and paid for parking onsite, although street parking could probably be had if not too late in the evening. Supermarkets close by. It definitely added to our Seattle experience.

We've stayed twice at The Maple - it's in a great neighborhood. The bed is comfortable, as is the apartment. It's a small brick apartment building from the 1940's which has been nicely renovated. Parking on the street can be a bit tricky -- I wish that the spaces behind the building were made available without charge for parking. Good quality linens, towels, free wi-fi. Easy check-in. Plenty of info in the apartment so that you can enjoy the neighborhood, even the "frequent buyer" key tab so you can get the bargains at the nearby grocery stores. The washer/dryer in the hallway is a great feature, allowing us to pack lighter. I'd stay there again.

The Maple was amazing! My sister lives in Seattle and we visit frequently, and now that I have stayed at the Maple I will never stay anywhere else. The unit was incredibly clean, very spacious, well equipped and full of little extras that make all the difference. But what I liked most was how bright and open the unit was, just full of natural light, and I don't think I have ever slept in a more comfortable bed. Usually when you vacation you do everything you can to stay away from your accommodations but it always felt so nice to get back to our own apartment at the end of the day. Plus, there were so many things close to us(restaurants, shopping, etc.) that nothing felt out of reach. I will definitely stay there again, in fact, I have already booked my next stay.

The Maple is a terrific place to stay in Seattle. Madison was welcoming, friendly and helpful with the booking, willing to answer all of our questions. The location is amazing. It is close enough to walk downtown (it is a longish walk) which we did twice, or it has a bus line within a block and a half, which we also rode. And we enjoyed the neighborhood around the Maple. It is nestled in a quiet area, but sits between two centers of activity with many restaurants, shops, parks, and activities within easy walking distance (three or four short blocks). The apartment was spotlessly clean, well equipped, and furnished comfortably and beautifully. The bed was one of the best I have ever slept in, and we had WiFi and Cable TV to fill in the cracks when not exploring Seattle. I would recommend this vacation rental whole heartedly to anyone and everyone. Thanks Madison!

Looking for an ideal location offering an abundance of low-key charm and an unbeatable price? I feel like I'm sharing Seattle's best kept secret, but I really don't think that anyone is likely to find better than 'The Maple'. First of all, there's the location. It's situated in one of Seattle's most appealing neighborhoods on Capital Hill. The lively Broadway scene, Pike-Pine Corridor's hustle and bustle, and 15th avenue's quaint commercial district are only a few minutes away by foot where you'll find an abundance of restaurants, pubs, and shopping. Weather permitting, a stroll downtown won't take you more than 20 or 30 minutes and for outdoor lounging you have the new Cal anderson Park only a few blocks South, (one of Seattle's best new additions) and the lovely hillside Volunteer Park just a few blocks North. With a simple, understated elegance, 'The Maple' doesn't feel anything like a hotel room, more of a spacious suite, and minutes upon arriving, we feel settled and at home with amenities like wifi, cable and a full kitchen at our disposal. Coming here always enhances our little getaways, and though not fancy, feels like a little bit of well-deserved luxury. Once you've tried 'The Maple', you won't think of staying anywhere else.
