Everything is all right there for you. If you have an elder with the cab system works perfect to conquer the hills. We stayed in twice and cooked fab meals just to enjoy the view from our condo.
You can not open any windows and carry on a conversation due to the traffic noise right beneath us. Didn't like that. Noisy 24/7 -

Left on 04/19/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Pool was closed for planned maintenance throughout our stay; a big factor to family with four young kids. Company agent ought to have known, forewarned. The pool was a big reason we chose this rental....then to not have it available, for predictable maintenance reasons was extremely disappointing.
All esle went very well. The appartmetn is great & well kept. The location was exceptionally convenient. One minor critique is that the two living area chairs are pretty far past their prime/no longer comfortable. I would return, but hae learned to ask specifics about pool, etc without assuming staff awareness. -

Absolutely stunning views. Great location for everything we wanted - walk to Pike Place Market in the morning, explore central Seattle and the waterfront or a shor t walk to Monorail for Space Needle, EMP and Science Center.
Apartment has everything you need, including lots of storage space (the closets could sleep a few more people!) and the couch bed is bery comfortable (and you can enjoy the spectacular views all night). There was also a stool for little ones to reach the bathroom sinks.
Arrange parking at the aprtment, it makes it all so easy!
The Seattle Pass was a great value for us.
Everyone I spoke to at Sea to Sky was very friendly and helpful.
We stayed with 2 young children (5 and 2) and older parents (75/80) and we were all very well accomodated and all loved it. -

Left on 01/09/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We were incredibly lucky to find this apartment available for a short stay in Seattle, celebrating my dad's 80th birthday. There were 6 of us - 4 adults and 2 children and it was a perfect fit.
We arrived in the early evening and enjoyed a spectacular sunset over the harbor. My dad's pretty hard to please and he was impressed with everything, but especially enjoyed watching the planes on approach to SeaTac and Boeing Field, a route he used to fly.
Everyone at Sea to Sky was friendly and helpful. The apartment was very clean and well-appointed, even a step stool for the little ones to use in the bathroom. The closet in the second bedroom could have accommodated another 2 people, it was so big and the couch bed was very comfortable and benefited from the great views. The location can't be beat, Pike Place and the Piers on your doorstep and the Science Center/Space Needle/EMP a short ride away on the monorail.
My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.
Highly highly recommended.Response from Sea to Sky Rentals - 01/14/2013

We couldn't ask for a more centrally located and nicely appointed condo to accommodate our family of 2 adults and 2 children comfortably - walk everywhere, w/easy access to monorail/subway, etc. for more distant locales. Heated pool and spa a big plus in cold weather, too. Rental property staff is top-notch. Building management needs to make repairs/replace blinds in most rooms (several broken two years-running now) and towel bar in master bath fell off the wall removing bath towel! Little things like shower curtain hooks missing - small updates would make a big difference to make this a first-class rental.

Hello Denise! Thank you so much for taking time to write a review. The pool and the spa are nice extras and you're right; the location can't be beat! My sincere apology about the blinds. They do tend to fall off, and despite our offer to install alternative window coverings at our own expense, the building will not allow it. We were blown away by the 180° view on the bay from this 16th floor apartment. The property was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable for five people (two parents and three children). The only drawback was the noise coming from the highway below, which made it practically impossible to keep the door to the balcony or any window open.

We visited Seattle for Christmas and New Years as my son moved to the city in November from Long Island, NY. Orginally had hotels booked but at the last minute decided on a more homelike place. Sea2Sky was extrememly helpful in finding a location close to my son's apartment. The views were amazing, that was one of the draws to that location over another, watching the harbor and the view of the mountains and yes we could see Mt. Rainer a time or two. The beds were comfortable, the storage for luggage and clothing was excellent, the bathrooms were roomy. The kitchen had most of what you would need. We had to improvise a little for Christmas dinner. Missed having dishtowels to dry hand washed items, but we went to Sur la Table and I purchased some that I could bring home. I also bought a toaster oven and then let my son take that for his place. The road noise was a little more prominent than I expected, but once adjusted to it, I did not notice it at much. However when the wind blew their was alot of whistle noise from the windows, but that was only a couple of nights when the fronts rolled through. I do recommend that the blower fan in the baseboard heater in the dining area be looked at, it was very noisy, the fans in both bathrooms were extremely noisy as well. But those are small maintenance items that really are normal when you stay in places that are not inhabited on a daily bases. We loved the apartment and most likely will stay there again when we have a long stay in Seattle. The location was phenomenal! Pike's Place marktet for fish and vegetables was a wonderful experience and then to come back and cook them. Thank you Michelle for recommended this to me! I am blessed to have spent the holidays in such a homey place and not a drab hotel!

We strolled to Pike Place Market each morning for coffee and pastries. We walked to the ferry to go to Bainbridge. We walked to the baseball stadium and to the Bank of America building. It was great being in such a nice location and the view is truly 180o over the water. I think the owner should replace the missing blinds so that whoever sleeps in the LR can get some darkness. A small table near the front door for keys, etc. would be nice. An end table or a large tray on the coffee table would be nice so one can put a drink down (the coffee table is a trunk and it's padded on top so that it can't be a table). The kitchen is beautiful equipped and did I mention how super wonderful the location is?

Wilmington, DEGreat location, but hot and noisy
Left on 08/26/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The apartment was in a great location, and the view was stunning. However, it was incredibly hot and the single airconditioner was inadequate to cool even the one room it was installed in. Windows had to be left open all night in the bedrooms, making it difficult to sleep through the very loud traffic noise. The vertical blinds had numerous missing slat that prevented us from fully covering the windows, therefore, the afternoon sun further heated the apartment.
I suggest installing a larger capacity airconditioner during the summer months and replacing the vertical blinds in the living room with window shades that could fully block the sun from adding heat to the apartment. -

Among many maintenance issues, the vertical blinds were missing many slats. This is an issue when the property faces west. The window that allowed the AC to circulate air was closed so it didn't work until we found a way to open the window. Mold in the grout of the showers. Parking garage a nightmare. No maps supplied and we were lost for 45 minutes trying to find the right elevator. No map of the facility. The whirlpool was scummy. Location and view were great. Bed comfortable. Hated the one bar of honey soap that was supplied in the bathrooms.

The location was FANTASTIC! The curtains should be repaired and upgraded, the sun woke us up VERY early every morning. The portable air conditioner was not good enough to cool the whole unit. When they advertise air conditioning the company really needs to specify that it is for the living room area only. The bedrooms are cooled with a portable fan. Despite those two problems, the location was unbeatable. I would stay there again just for the view and location. We were within walking distance to the market and waterfront. We were able to use the bus system to get us everywhere else. The view of Mt. Rainier was breathtaking.

Harbor steps is located in the center of it all. walking distance to all major attractions. the unit was clean and had an unobstructed view of Elliot bay and the Olympic Mountains. A couple of real negatives were the traffic noise and the drafty windows. the wind was blowing really hard the first night we stayed and the wind was blowing through the gaps in the windows so hard it was making the curtains rattle and was whistling so loud the whole family was up at 5am as we couldn't sleep. drafty would we an understatement. bring some caulk.

Portland, ORBest place we have ever stayed in while in Seattle
Left on 03/30/2010 for a stay in March 2010
This was the best place we have ever stayed in while in Seattle. It was so close to everything we wanted to do. The views were breathtaking photographic opportunities.
The people from Sea to Sky were so friendly and helpful we have already referred them to many of our friends. -

great view, close to everything...BUT very, very noisy. Bring ear plugs, or won't sleep. Hwy 99 ROARS all day and all night. Can't recommend it because of the noise. Windows should be replaced, the noise comes through around the edges.

We were in Seattle to see our daughter perform and loved watching the activity on the water and view was great. The traffic was a little noisy for us country folks, but other than that we loved it.

Salinas, CAKimmel visit
Left on 12/17/2009 for a stay in December 2009
We had previously stayed in 1520. We moved up to 1620 thinking it would be exactly the same, only one more floor removed from the street noise below. The configuration of the master bedroom was quite different and not nearly as much to our liking. However, it was a bit quieter. Other than that, it was a wonderful family experience for us.

Austin, TXNice "home base" for our Seattle vacation!
Left on 11/13/2009 for a stay in November 2009
Sea to Sky Rentals was great. There was some confusion with picking up a box that was shipped beforehand and getting a high chair that fit a pedestal table, but everything was taken care of quickly. It was great to have a stackable washer/dryer in the unit...we used it everyday in this rainy city! The view of the ferries was fantastic. The location was also great...we walked to Pike Place market and to the monorail terminal several times.

Had a fabulous gals' getaway in Seattle with my sisters, and this property's location is the best! Walk to Pike Place Market, Seattle Center, Aquarium, wharf, and Pioneer Square. Seattle Art Museum and cute coffee houses right across the street. Best of all, the view of Puget Sound from the windows and small balcony is stunning. You can even see Mount Ranier when the weather cooperates. Ferries to Bainbridge (and other islands), as well as the West Seattle water taxi are right here. Urban amenities with a glorious natural view. Excellent little market right next door run by super-nice people. In fact, everyone in Seattle treated us with warmth and respect during our visit. We all just loved the city and our deluxe apartment in the sky! The only reason I do not give a five star rating based on property condition is that we traveled during a record heat spell and there is no central AC. However, a portable unit and fans were provided, and we were able to cool off. Due to the property's urban location, expect traffic noise from below. The view from the master bedroom and living room is drop-dead gorgeous, and the sofa bed is even comfortable. Twin beds in second bedroom can be converted to queen. Very nice kitchen and baths. Very nicely furnished, pacious and comfortable--better closet and dresser space than my home! Our group of four just loved it. Large groups could even rent multiple units in the building. The balcony would not be a good place for small children but would otherwise be family friendly.

Nainaimo, BCGreat location
Left on 07/30/2009 for a stay in July 2009
In Seattle during the heat wave - the condo definitely needs help with keeping the place cooler. Bedrms were stifling hot even with fan; vertical blinds do little to keep out heat - perhaps sunblocking drapes would be helpful. In order to have some air circulating had to open the windows, which meant it was extremely noisy, so much that it was not easy to have a normal volume conversation. The condo is very well appointed, and within walking distance of all we wanted. downtown. P.S. Nanaimo is spelled incorrectly below

Left on 07/27/2009 for a stay in July 2009
We enjoyed our stay at Harbor Steps. We were 2 blocks from Pike Market, across the street from the Seattle Art Museum and 1 block from the Docks (great restaurants, some shops and harbor cruises). We parked our car on the premises--very convenient, in and out with a passcard.
The only complaints were the noise (it overlooks Puget Sound by way of the highway) and the temperature (the retrofitted air conditioning unit was loud and not effective). Since we were out visiting most of the time, this did not bother us too much.
I would definitely go back. -
Pueblo, COImmaculate condo, centrally located, great view!
Left on 07/07/2009 for a stay in July 2009
This condo was perfect for some first time visitors to Seattle. We were just steps from most places that we wanted to visit including Pioneer Square, the pier to catch the ferry to Bainbridge Island, and Pike Market. The views of the bay, the mountains, and the stadiums were great. We were in Seattle on three very hot days (high temps in the 90s and no rain) but the condo did cool down just enough to be comfortable in the evenings with the use of fans in the bedrooms -though it was warm. The traffic noise is quite loud so the fans were also good to help block out that noise at night. It would not be possible to sleep with the windows open for this reason. The condo was very, very clean and parking in the underground garage was convenient.

Very central location. Some traffic noise due to location near freeway. Air conditioning inadequate for warm temperatures but if blinds were kept closed and air running all day it was bearable. It was very clean, no problems. Better lighting in living room to read by would be helpful and another comfortable chair.

Left on 05/03/2009 for a stay in May 2009
This was a great place and a nice location, close to Pike Place and within walking distance to the convention center. However, we had difficulty with getting an extra key for our group which made if difficult to come and go as we pleased. This place is not good for a group to stay because they only issue two keys. They had a third key, but they could not locate it. Although the location was beautiful with a great view of the Puget Sound, there were a lot of homeless people on the street below that were not afraid to get in your face and a few strip clubs within a block or so.

Portland, ORGreat place to stay with friends
Left on 04/21/2009 for a stay in April 2009
The only reasons I didn't give all 5's were that 1) The upright blinds were in poor condition in the master bedroom, and 2) Check-in was a little confusing - I got sent from one desk to another and back again. Other than that, we loved the place! We could walk to everything, the view was fantastic, and for six of us the price was extremely reasonable. I've already recommended it to a friend.

The location, the condo, the decor, the assistance from staff were all superb!...but the view was ASTOUNDING! The negatives were and this was a pretty big one...most of the pots and pans were unusable because their bottoms were scorched/burned. Also, one of the lamps had a burned out bulb, and the front desk remedied that situation. The management compnay was great in that they delivered to us a new set of pots and pans the second day of our stay. help

The location was wonderful and the condo views of the sound were unobstructed. The only drawback was the constant sound of traffic from intrastate #99 that was approx. 8 stories below our condo. The sound was more like white noise than an annoyance. The condo was clean and well maintained and the staff were helpful. I thought the location and amount of space were a good value for the rent.

Our stay was wonderful, the location was very convenient, and the unit overlooks the water, which is really nice; but it also overlooks the freeway/viaduct -- which is very noisy, even on the 16th floor. It makes sleeping somewhat difficult for light sleepers (especially in the "main" bedroom).

Unit has an awesome view. Close to everything. Even at 16 floors up you could hear some street noise, but no big deal. Only downside is air conditioner is not powerful enough and only in the dining/living room, none in the bedrooms. Harbor Steps concierge staff was extremely helpful and very nice. Sea to Sky Rentals were a pleasure to do business with. Would stay there again.

We took a cruise in Alaska then took the train to Seattle from vancouver. It was a wonderful trip... and would recommend it. Harbor steps was a great place. Wonderful views. However, I was told we would be introduced to our room, but, we had to find our way. Also, when attempting to get a cab to the airport, was told, to use their own service. Saved us quite a few dollars to get a cab (van) on our own. there were 4 of us, with 8 pieces of luggage. we were there when it was hot, and the air conditioning was not the best.... The kitchen accommodations were good.... We purchased seafood at the market, and made it at the apartment. it was nice to just hang out.

Brookfield, ILLocation and view can't be beat
Left on 06/30/2008 for a stay in June 2008
The view from the 16th floor living room of Elliot Bay is enormous and beautiful. Watching the ships and boats can be almost hypnotic. And out the kitchen window, if the clouds cooperate, you get a clear shot at Mt. Rainier. It's an easy walk to the market, the aquarium, ferries, shopping, etc. Washer/dryer in unit means you don't have to bring as much with you--especially great if, like us, you're traveling with kids. Pay extra for parking--it will add years to your life. The only slight negative is that all the traffic below (on land and water) can get kind of noisy and the windows don't do much to block it out. A minor gripe.

Wyncote, PANice but noisy!
Left on 04/12/2008 for a stay in September 2007
The facility was nice enough from a cleanliness perspective, although my wife and I had to do some cleaning of the actual apartment when we arrived. Nowhere in the Sea to Sky description of the property, however, was an indication that a major highway ran along the apartment. In that there was not an air conditioning system that was effective in the apartment, open windows were the only choice. As Seattle is a major city, the traffic never stopped, especially truck traffic. As a light sleeper, this was nightmare-ish at best. For this reason, I'm not sure I'd use Sea to Sky again.

Left on 04/09/2008 for a stay in September 2007
We had a great time in Seattle and one reason was Harbor Steps. We walked out the front door to everything we wanted to see and do. The apartment had a fabulous view, tiny balcony for fresh sea air and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Confusing parking garage and noise from traffic on the street below were are only disappointments. I would stay there again when visiting Seattle.
