Description from the owner
This is a two story, detached guest house that was recently built by me, the owner. I have built a number of high end homes and houseboats like the one in Sleepless in Seattle. It reflects my interest in good design and function, blending a mix of modern craftsmanship. I built all the doors and windows, the cabintry and built-ins; even the bed and dresser. The guest house is entered along a path by the 1910 bungalow that I also restored, and through a gated patio that the guest house opens onto through french doors from the bedroom. The guesthouse is located halfway between the Mt. Baker and Columbia City neighborhoods. Mt. Baker is a residential neighborhood with a small and charming commercial area. Columbia City has a larger commercial area with several restaurants and bars as well as a delicious bakery. The light rail can be caught in either neighborhood and is a quick 20 minutes to downtown Seattle. It is a little over five minutes walk to a large park and Lake Washington where a lakefront trail is easily accessible. The lake is a wonderful spot for swimming in the summer.
