Buffalo, New YorkPerfect spot to enjoy the best of Maine
Left on 08/25/2012 for a stay in August 2012
My husband and I rented Betsy and Brian's cabin for eight nights. We loved that it was so off the beaten path, a mile down a dirt road and on the most pristine lake for swimming and water sports. Betsy and Brian were fantastic hosts and the cabin was equipped with all of our needs and then some. The shower was hot and strong. The kitchen was fully equipped and having laundry right there made life so easy. We had wonderful evenings watching the sun set over the lake and listening to the loons. There are great hiking trails nearby, easy kayak/canoe rental, and lots of cool fishing towns to visit. We loved visiting all of the artist studios, shopping at the local co-op, going to the farmer's markets and exploring this gorgeous area. It was really like the perfect week with the perfect hosts in the most perfect spot. Please take good care of this heavenly place and enjoy as much as we did.

St. Libory, ILPerfect for my family.
Left on 07/11/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I couldn't have picked a better place for my family. My boys, ages 9 & 14, love to swim, snorkel & fish and what a great place for that. Ledge Lodge is exactly what you would imagine an old fishing cabin in Maine would be. There is so much history in this cabin, you feel taken back in time. There are fish traced on wooden planks hanging all over the cabin with the date caught, weight, location & name of fisherman on them dating back to the 1930's. It is equipped with everything you need and the owners are very helpful. I am so happy that Betsy decided to share her family history with all who come to stay here. We thoroughly enjoyed the private setting and serenity. Acadia is within an hour drive as well as Camden. I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of a Maine vacation.

Kingston, Ontarioquiet, peaceful and beautiful environs in a quaint, cozy cottage

The cozy cottage speaks of charm, history, and beautiful lakeside views. All needs were met in the cottage and by Betsy and Brian who are very close by. The lake is great for swimming from their long dock and raft, and for canoing and kayaking. The countryside is full of interesting and scenic drives and places nestled here and there nearby.

Ledge Lodge is he lovliest most cozy place on earth. It has everything you need in a comfortable , rustic setting. You ll sleep like a dream and relax on the terrace, over looking Walker Pond, listening to the sound of the loons. I love this place and consider it one of the great holidays of my long life. Maine Loving Canuck
Barrie, ON, CanadaA Great Summer Maine Getaway
Left on 01/11/2012 for a stay in August 2011
My family and I have enjoyed returning to Ledge Lodge over the past several years; in fact it has become a "must do" for our summer vacation. The cabin is located in an extremely quiet area, with little boat traffic and is close to all amenities. Our favorite part is coming back to the cabin in the evenings after visiting some of Maine's beautiful seaside fishing villages, perhaps enjoying a meal while watching stunning sunsets. Other close by day trips/activities include exploring acadia National Park, Bar Harbor or taking on one of the many tourist attractions. We also enjoy kayaking, canoeing, swimming etc., on those days where we just prefer a nice relaxing day at the lake while time floats on by. It is not a luxury vacation, but whether for a romantic getaway, catching up on reading or family time, you will be hard pressed to find a more charming and enjoyable rental.

San FranciscoReconnect to the universe
Left on 01/05/2012 for a stay in August 2010
I have stayed at Ledge-Lodge more times than I can remember. It is always a refreshing and reconnecting experience. Calming and centering. The quiet calm lapping of the crystal clear water on the beachy edge of Walker Pond. The smell of pine trees and the sound of the breeze through the trees, pine and otherwise, the cool water tickling the tops of your feet and the sand massaging the soles, the across lake views with large sky, brings the senses to reawaken in a serene & universal way.
The cabin has everything one needs to accompany the environment. On the one hand rustic with authentic warming relics of past decades of family use, on the other leaving nothing left needed for a simple yet fully comfortable life.
If you want to feel like you 'got away' but don't want to rough it. This place will fill you and connect you with nature.
I look forward to many more visits.
