Concord, Ohio, USAEnjoyed our stay at the Sedona Summit
Left on 06/08/2013 for a stay in June 2013
My wife and I stayed at the Sedona Summit the first week of June, 2013 and had a wonderful stay. We stayed pursuant to an Interval International Exchange and stayed in a two bedroom lock-off unit. The unit was spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and all areas of the unit which included full kitchen, dining and living room were up to date and clean. We arrived on a Friday for a one week stay and had maid service on Tuesday to provide clean towels, empty garbage and generally tidy up. We had originally planned to have our two adult children join us, thus the two bedroom rental. They were unable to join us, so we had the whole place to ourselves. The lock-off unit is essentially an efficiency or studio unit that has a bed, bath and kitchen area that would have been perfectly comfortable for two persons.
The two downsides that have been thoroughly discussed by other reviewers: the views from the rooms and the sales pitch. My wife had called the Summit two weeks before our arrival and requested a second floor unit with a mountain view. They of course responded that they could not guarantee such a room. To our surprise, when we arrived and spoke to the check-in clerk, the clerk saw in the computer records that my wife had called and they were able to meet our request. First floor units do not have a very good (parking lot) view as do many second-floor units. While view from your balcony may not be important to some, it was to us and made the stay special, especially since you are in Sedona for the Red Rock views! It doesn't hurt to call and make the request.
The sales pitch was just distasteful. After check-in, you are directed to a sales person for a "free welcome gift". The sales person tries to get you to sign up for a 90 minute sales presentation in hopes of selling you a timeshare or to purchase a side trip for a helicopter ride, etc. and won't take no for an answer. We were just anxious to get to our rooms and unpack and begin our vacation and finally pried ourselves away from this person.
Other than those two cautions, we would recommend a stay at the Sedona Summit. You will be a five mile drive to "downtown" Sedona and within easy access to many, many restaurants that will satisfy any taste and budget concern. -

I booked a two bedroom suite at Sedona Summit for two nights. As owners we had an option of renting and with an out of town guest who had never seen Sedona it was a perfect choice. We stayed in the sunset section which is the newest set of buildings. We were not ready for the quality of the rooms because we had only stayed in the older original section. There were two master suites each with double sinks, an air bath tub with color lighting and glass showers, three flat screen tv's, big kitchen, 5 pools and 7 hot tubs. The patio was huge and with grand views of the red rocks.

Large, clean, spacious rooms, heavenly beds, flat screen TVs, a full kitchen at a great price! If that is not enough to make you want to stay here, let me add that the view all around is so majestic and you simply cannot put a price on such beauty. Jim was a real treat to work with/book through. We had zero "administrative" problems during our stay and will definitely look to Jim for our next vacation!

The unit we stayed in was gorgeous and well adorned with region/location appropriate décor. Jim you need to tell me who does their decorating and where they get their wall prints so I can buy some! I will definitely be taking inspiration from here to re-decorate my own house in the future. Everything was also very clean and well maintained during our stay, as were the grounds around the unit/condo. Everywhere you look, there is natural beauty that just cannot be fully captured with pictures, you just need to see it with your own eyes. It was truly a unique pleasure staying here.

Altho a few miles from Sedona, this resort is the perfect place to stay... quiet and surrounded by those soaring red mountains. There's a spot right at the entrance that offers the most compelling view of arizona sunsets...a photographers dream.
Rooms were extra nice with lots of updated amenities and the staff could not have been better. When our TV didn't work, it was repaired within an hour...very good considering the size of the complex -

Left on 03/02/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Beautiful, large condo with 2 very comfortable master suites (both with Jacuzzi), full kitchen, sunny patios, and partial view of red rocks.
Great location just outside of the downtown "strip" and 360degree views just a 2 minute walk from the property.
The downside was there was no free wifi (we had to purchase a plan with at&T;) and we had to listen to the 90 minute (which turned out to be 2 hour) sales pitch. -

We were in a one-bedroom in building #10, second floor. The balcony had wonderful views of red rocks to the north of the property. The kitchen had practically everything you could ask for, and the bathroom was plenty big enough for the two of us. There was a pool with a giant hot tub, just a stone's throw from our building, and a jungle gym kind of a thing right out our door that most children would love. My only complaint is that the bed was rock hard, but it wouldn't keep me from staying there again.

This place, simply put is amazing...the interior decorator needs to come to my house and work their magic! The decoration was perfect, not too overwhelming or muted, just perfect. The space here was more than we expected or could have hoped to have for the amazing price. The beds are some of the best we have had the pleasure of sleeping on. No expenses spared on the quality of the furnishings and a fully equipped kitchen was a big plus! Jim could not say enough good things about this resort and now we know why!

This is the first time we have vacationed to arizona and I don't think we will ever stay anywhere else when we come here again! The rooms in our unit were very very spacious and everything was nice and clean for us when we arrived. There are plenty of places to visit and things to do that are very close to the resort so we are able to spend most of our time enjoying ourselves instead of driving to and from a destination.

Booked the 2br lockoff at the Summit via Jim. He was fantastic to deal with! Jim provided good guidance on the best unit type for my family, without overpaying. Seems most of the units are recently remodeled anyway. Unit / facilities were well maintained and four pools to choose from. Proximity to town and hiking venues were easy and close. Each day was a different adventure. Overall, my family and I were extremely pleased with the resort. I would not hesitate in booking again via Jim.

Titusville, FloridaBeautiful townhouse
Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I visited with my two teenage grandsons and stayed in suite #223. The townhouse was lovely and newly remodeled. We had a big king-size bedroom with balcony and separate sitting room on the second floor. The bath was double vanity with walk-in shower and a jetted tub. Downstairs, we had a well-appointed living room, dining room and kitchen. A sliding glass door led to the garden spa just outside. The gas fireplace is only functional after October 15th.The kitchen was well-stocked with coffee filters and salt and pepper. Would have loved a sharper knife!
The second bedroom was a lock-off at the foyer. It had it's own entrance, but we never used it. This bedroom had a tub/shower and a single vanity. It did have it's own refrigerator and cook top but no sliding door with a view.
All the Tv's were 32" wall-mounted. Wi Fi was free, just get the password from the front desk.
There were 3 pools to choose from, an activity center with ping pong and ball toss game. Activities were planned every night. The kids were never bored, and made several friends.
We visited the Grand Canyon (2 hour drive), fished in the Oak Creek Canyon and went hiking in Red Rock Canyon. The Out of africa trip was great at the start, but the monsoons came in and we left half-way through. Blazin' M Ranch was great fun.
We flew into Phoenix and had a two-hour drive to the resort, mostly by freeway. Traffic was never a problem, but watch out for speed traps during construction.
In July, you would expect to be hot, but we found it quite nice. About 10 degrees cooler than Phoenix. The Canyon was about 15 degrees cooler that Sedona. I would have liked to have some sweats for the evenings..Response from CHEAP Luxury Sedona Resort SAVE off retail rates - 07/27/2012

If you like hiking then you will love it here! There are so many trails around and lots of them are virtually unknown. I did more hiking in three days than I thought possible and I had so much fun. All of my hiking buddies want to plan a big trip here next year! Maybe even do some white water rafting!

Left on 12/02/2011 for a stay in November 2011
I don't know what to say because I liked the place and location, but when we walked in we could smell heavy cleaners like pine sol to cover up whatever it is they were covering up. (maybe smoke or possible water damage, musty smell) As soon as we pulled onto the road that Summit was located on we lost cell phone service completely. Internet was a pay per day thing when I thought it was included from the advertisement. So, if you don't have bother with anyone contacting you or using the internet for business then this might be your place. (Was not the place for me!) I called the offices to find out if we could be moved and if it was common that internet and cell phones didn't work and they said yes it is a problem. I asked to be moved elsewhere and that was a no go too. Oh and it was advertised with red rock views and we had the highway directly behind us! So I think there was a lot of misleading advertisement for this property. Ps and beware of check in because there was a lobby filled with senior citizens that couldn't check in until 4pm so everyone was congregating waiting to get their keys. (It was not a great experience, we were tired and just wanted to sleep as we drove in from Las Vegas) We were told that we could check in early if condos were available but that just wasn't the case!

Wow - that is not consistent with 99% of all the others that have stayed with us (nor the other reviews). I'm sorry that your experience was not as expected. It's RARE - but you're right... one in a hundred stays... simply fail to deliver - which I hate! Seriously - my wife and I pride ourselves on helping others have GREAT Vacations - and Diamond Resorts is one of the most "consumer conscious" resorts in the world. Any chance you'll let us EARN your business again? I'm 99.9% certain - that it will be a different experience... Call me to discuss - Jim 602.317.2006 (by the way - on a positive note - I'm glad you liked the Condo:)

Left on 11/02/2011 for a stay in October 2011
My daughter and I stayed one week at the Summit in late October. Check-in was quick and easy - of course they tried to get us to sign up for a presentation but we persistently, yet politely, refused. They never bothered us again the entire week. We were very pleased with the unit assigned to us. We had wonderful views of the red rocks from the living room, bedroom and patio. The one bedroom which slept 4 was lovely. The kitchen was nicely designed with granite countertops, new appliances, etc. It wastocked with all the amenities - blender, electric can opener, lots of wine glasses, great dishes, pots, pans, silverware...no complaints here. Although we were too busy to use the pools, they looked very well maintained and they had quite a few. The design of the resort was very nice and the landscaping was beautiful. The bed, pillows and linens were wonderful as well as the towels in the bath. Used the washer and dryer on our next to last night so we didn't have much to do when we got home. Two large flat-screen Tv's - living rom with fireplace. All in all very nice. The resort is located in W. Sedona which is a good drive from Old Sedona but that really wasn't an issue. There are no negatives that I would mention and we both agreed that given the opportunity, we would gladly return to the Summit.

"My family & I have been all over the world - but Sedona has got to be in our Top 5 places. The Summit Resort is really nice. However, we spent all of our time outdoors (hiking, biking, shopping, etc.). The Resort itself was great - we traveled in February - so the pool wasn't heated - but the hottubs were. At the end of the day - looking up at the stars (which are really bright in Sedona) it was perfect. We'll be back."

Left on 09/10/2011 for a stay in February 2011
My wife Laura (and my 2 boys) wanted to go to the Grand Canyon (we drove in from Vegas - and are from Cancun Mexico). We picked Sedona because it was close to the Grand Canyon (which is not the case) it took us 2 hours (each way) to drive there from the Sedona Summit Resort. But it was worth the drive! The canyon alone was worth the entire trip, however Sedona was just as beautiful. My wife actually liked Sedona better (probably because of all the little shops) She was inducted in to the Master Card Hall of Fame (she's quite the shopper). They asked me to "write a review" for the resort. What can we say. It was nice. Our suite was very large, the beds were really comfortable, they had flat panel Tv's on every wall we looked and the best part was the Hot Tub at night (we stayed in February - so it was very cold at night) but the Hot Tub under the stars were amazing. If you're considering staying at the Sedona Summit Resort... Do it. You won't regret it. It's beautiful. And we got to stay for $199 per night (which was 50% off the Travelocity Rate) tell them that you're a member of the military too (they give 5% off)

"This place is perfect. My daughter and I had the most wonderful time. We've stayed in Sedona on 3 other occasions (including L'Auberge - the best place in Sedona - that cost us $400 per night) and we found this place much nicer! The Rooms are incredible and the views are spectacular. We thought there was covered parking for everyone but found out only half of the guests get covered parking (this was inconvenient because we were there in the summer). But overall I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and family."
