The other bedroom has a wonderful queen size bed with a view towards Mingus Mountain and spectacular sunsets. Left on 01/23/2013 for a stay in July 2012
My friend and I stayed here in July, 2012. The cottage has all the conveniences of home. The owners were away and so we had full use of the pool/whirlpool. The location outside of town helped us to relax. They had a lot materials about Sedona in the cottage. Be sure to go the The Hike House if you plan to hike, they will help you plan your time and make sure you have what you need.
Hope to go back one day. It was truly a wonderful stay. -

Erie, PennsylvaniaPeaceful and secluded cottage
Left on 11/02/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We stayed at the cottage in October 2012. We loved the location - just 10 minutes from the restaurants and shopping of West Sedona (a little further to the touristy area). There is a wonderful view from the balcony - you do not see another house, no sign of civilization - and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets. It was just so peaceful and comfortable. The cottage was well-equipped and clean enough. We liked the attached garage to park our car in which also had a washer and dryer that we could use anytime. The caretaker was able to solve a few minor problems for us (coffeemaker didn't work) but was not able to restore the internet service. We had service for 4 days of our 7 day stay. Our cell phones worked fine (Verizon). If we are ever in Sedona again we would definetly stay here again.

Rochester, WAAmazing place
Left on 10/23/2012 for a stay in September 2012
The cottage is just a short distance out of town, which suited us because we didn't want to be in the heart of the city. It was quiet and the sunset views of the red rocks were stunning. The place was clean, the pictures don't do it justice. The location can't be beat as far as I'm concerned, the adjoining main house with it's pool and hot tub overlooks the valley below. I would definitely recommend this if you wanted somewhere quiet, clean, and professionally maintained. I will definitely go back.

PhoenixOur favorite place in Sedona!
Left on 10/12/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We live in Phoenix and love coming to Sedona a few times a year for a getaway. We don't like hotels and always look for private house rentals. We tried many houses before but finally found this place last year and don't want to go anywhere else! We already stayed there 4 times and are going again soon. The place is bigger and cosier than it looks on the pictures. The furnishings are really nice and comfortable (plus, the place is always very clean). The house is on a mountain top on a very quite private cul-de-sac. It's serene! The views from both bedroom balconies are although not of cathedral rocks but of mountain ranges in the distance, which is still very nice. We stayed here as a couple for a romantic getaway and as a family with 2 little kids and either way has suited us very well. The master house is next door, but not very close and you never see anybody around. There are some trails and dirt roads you can walk on and get to very beautiful veiws of cathedral rock within 5 minutes. Great restaurants and a grocery store are only about 10 minutes away by car. It's a perfect combination of being out of town in nature and at the same time very close to civilization. Plus, the price is extremely reasonable!

Marana, ArizonaThe cottage at the edge of eden is truly at the edge, disappoint
Left on 08/06/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Let's start at the beginning, the views depicted in the pictures presented are not representative of the actual views from the cottage. The view from the master bedroom is of red dirt and a driveway, not the red rocks of Sedona. The view from the living room is also of red dirt, with a huge water tank thrown in for atmosphere. I will admit the views from the main house are magnificent, unfortunately they are not at the cottage. The kitchen is as depicted, however what you don't notice is the size of the refrigerator - similar to the refrigerators found in most hotels with a minimal freezer. The lamp on the wall in the master bedroom was hanging off the wall indicating a lack of maintenance. Last but not least, be prepared - there is no landline, and your cell phone reception is minimal and the internet service is inconsistent - we never were able to get online. When we arrived the caretaker was surprised and annoyed since he had no idea the cottage was booked. When we called the owner (standing still at the top of the hill so we had service) to talk to her about the lack of internet access, she did not call us back but let a message with the caretaker simply telling us we were wrong. Her whole attitude and lack of responsiveness or concern was unbelievable. So if you want a vacation with no access to the outside world without traveling 20 minutes to West Sedona, no views and an ungracious host, this is the place for you.

Owner
I was so sorry the guest did not stay after the storm took out the internet service for a few hours. We do live in the outskirts of town and other guests appreciate the solitude. I looked over my photos I summited to the Flipkey website and they are accurate and describe each view. I could not call them back as I was driving so contacted my manager to handle the complaints and am sorry they were upset with us. Please review the description of the cottage before you book as it is very isolated yet close to West Sedona(only 10 minutes, not 20). Please look at other reviews for a clearer picture of our lovely cottage. Remember this is the desert, in the mountains and the landscape is natural.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is quaint and nicely decorated and situated on beautifully landscaped private property with tranquil views. We enjoyed the hummingbirds that came to feed on our balcony and the adjacent rock/sculpture garden. It is a great place to get away with your loved one(s) and smell the fresh air.

Left on 04/12/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We never would have believed how spacious the cottage is by the pics online! All of the charms and warmth of home in a setting beyond all expectations. Close to town but in the awesome scenery of the hills around Sedona filled with peacefulness and starlite skies. The hosts were incredibly accomodating, friendly, and genuinely cared about our visit. A five star resort couldn't measure up to the hospitality and enjoyment we had while at the cottage. Thanks for an incredible experience! We hope to return!!

What a wonderful vacation experience! The cottage was perfect. The scenery was beautiful. You are supplied with everything you would need for the perfect stay. The owners are available if you would need them yet--you will feel like you are the only one on the mountain. We had a fantastic stay. The cottage is like staying in an art museum. The location is ideal--close to parks and shops. If you are a lucky one to book a stay you will be on the edge of Eden!

Left on 12/06/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Our stay was amazing. The cottage itself had everything we could ask for and was located in such a quiet and beautiful area. We had come to Sedona to elope and the owners had heard through our minister that we were looking for a location to have the ceremony. Later that day, we came back to the cottage to find a note on our door from the owners offering their beautiful back terrace for the ceremony. The view was amazing . . . we felt as though we had walked into a movie!! The owners were so gracious and kind and made us feel completely at home. We would recommend this cottage highly and if you are looking for a location to get married, it's perfect!

Portland, ORThe cottage is perfect.
Left on 09/21/2010 for a stay in September 2010
I highly recommend the Cottage on the Edge of Eden. It was more than my aunt and I could have hoped for. We wanted a place with a kitchen and the usual amenities that come with a condominium. The cottage certainly had all of that. What we didn't expect was the special quality of our stay.
First, the location. The cottage is very private with beautiful vistas of the arizona high desert off the bedrooms. And yet it's just 5 minutes from town! It is quiet, peaceful and surrounded by the arizona country side.
Inside, the cottage has a fully stocked kitchen with more than just the basics, really comfortable beds (even the fold-out in the 2nd bedroom), an outside patio with patio table and chairs and a BBQ (that we used), and a deck off the bedrooms where we enjoyed our coffee and watched the morning light crawl across the distant hills. It was heavenly.
Even more of a pleasant surprise were the very tasteful cottage furnishings and decor. The artwork on the walls is unique and really lovely. The wooden cabinet that holds the dishes and flat wear is stunning. The sitting area off the kitchen is cozy. Everything about the cottage is just so comfortable and welcoming.
As for service, Diane was there when we needed her but left us to ourselves when we didn't. (We wanted to cook pasta one evening and needed a colander. I left a message that morning before we left and found the colander outside our door when we returned.)
I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay.
Thank you. -

This lovely 2 bedroom home has beautiful views and is exquisitely decorated. It has lovely paths and places to sit in privacy to enjoy the breath-taking views from high above Sodona's canyon/rock towers/stream etc. We were treated as valued guests by the gracious couple who rented to us and would definitely stay here again.

We received great service and and were allowed the utmost in privacy. The home was very nicely furnished, very clean and made you feel comfortable. The location was awesome with many spectacular views, especially from the spa and pool area. The amenities are too numerous to mention, everything we needed in a nutshell. I think what I liked best was the beautiful setting, wonderful views and serenity of the location. We will definitely be back.

In the past I have usually stayed at some of the very nice hotels in Sedona but I have never experienced the true essence of the area in the way that I did at this incredible property. You are surrounded by nature and beauty everywhere but there is no roughing it. The house is absolutely beautiful and has all the little extras you could ever want. It was hard to make ourselves leave but on the rare occasion that we wanted to dine out it was only a short drive to town. We plan to return again and again!

Left on 09/20/2010 for a stay in September 2010
My husband and I have always stayed in hotels and weren't quite sure what to expect. However, this one of the most comfortable and serene places we have stayed in on vacation. The house is on a private road and extremely quiet. It's beautifully decorated and comes equipped with anything you might need including dishwasher, coffeemaker, washer/dryer, microwave, and lovely kitchenette. We loved having coffee on the deck in the morning and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. Also, a state park is very close by and we took advantage of some of their excellent nature programs. If we didn't live in Baltimore, we'd stay there on a regular basis!

Warren, OregonBad Experience with Reservations
Left on 09/11/2010 for a stay in February 2010
We didn't have the opportunity to stay at the Cottage on the Edge of Eden. We made reservations for a week in February 2011. I sent our $100.00 deposit and Diane Briney confirmed our reservations via e-mail. Today I received a check from Diane Briney and a short note: Due to unforseen circumstances we can no longer accommodate your reservation. I checked on-line and found the Cottage was unavailable(rented?)from mid January to the end of February 2011. Granted, the owner has the right to cancel for any reason they want to but I think it is in bad form if that reason is to rent for another reason after accepting and confirming reservations for another party. It is frustrating because as a renter we have no recourse when something like this happens. Now I have to search for lodging again. I thought I the planning and reservations for this vacation a done deal:*(

I am sorry about Peggy's reservation. We only rent when we are at home and something came up. I cancelled in plenty of time for her to make other arrangements. I would say 5 months is time enough to make another reservation. I would never cancel a reservation and leave a guest with no where to go on short notice. Unavailable is just unavailable. I am sorry Peggy chose to vent in a review even though she did not actually stay here.

Left on 08/10/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We stayed in this fabulous cottage from July 28 - Aug. 7, and we definitely intend to return. It was a peaceful and elegant setting, with great views, and very, very accommodating owners. It was private, easily within access to Sedona (short drive), as well as many other sights of interest, including hiking/biking trails, National and State parks, Native american sites, the gorgeous red rocks of Sedona/Oak Creek, and so much more. It was the best place we have ever stayed, and we have traveled for many years. I have lived in Europe, Africa, and, of course, the U.S., and my husband spent time In asia as well as U.S. I am partially disabled (cane on uneven ground), and it was perfect for me, yet had something to offer any age group. We will return!

I was very nervous about renting someplace that I had never seen, we are from VT and have a very busy business. We were awestruck when we walked in.!! Most beautiful, clean and comfy. The owners are wonderful people and gave us our complete privacy. The views are amazing and the balconiesin 3 places gave every view. The nights are silent, stars are endless. Waking up to beautiful blue skies, hummingbirds galore, beautiful gardens, places to walk...I could go on and on. We will be back next year for sure. Thanks Dianne and alan for making our vacation beyond our wildest dreams.

Stayed Edge of Eden in April. So beautiful, so wonderfully decorated. We felt
like we were staying in a five star hotel. This cottage is very private and very
quiet. The owners have taken extraordinary measures to give this cottage
details that you can only find in the word custom. The spa and pool are also
breathtaking, looking over the entire Sedona Valley. I plan on returning and
telling my friends. -

Left on 05/06/2010 for a stay in November 2009
I stayed in this guest house in November of 2009 for a week. What a peaceful
place! I felt right at home in this house and it had everything I needed with a
bathtub and kitchen. The bed was more than comfortable! It was like a cloud.
I spent the most time relaxing on the deck patio watching the hummingbirds
and starting at the stars in the sky at night.
The location is a short drive into town, but just far enough away that you can't
hear anything but the breeze rustling through the trees. You can ride your
bike to the opening of red rock state park.
There are also great hiking trails just outside the door! I will be back again. -
